    Little known fact about the studio cabins. NCL is a pioneer for single travelers but it happened by accident. The studio cabins were originally built by NCL on Epic. They were double occupancy cabins. However before the ship was launched NCL took a beating how small they were for 2 people. NCL changed them from double occupancy to single cabins and the rest is history.

      @Cruisingwithwheels  Před 6 lety +6

      Yup that's how the solo cabins were born. I still think 2 people could sail comfortably in one though!

    • @ExtraordinaryLiving
      @ExtraordinaryLiving Před 6 lety +2

      No way! May be I am spoiled (by living in a big house and seeing clients with sizable condo apartments), but two people in that size cabin would be *murderous* ! You will keep bumping into each other. If one is sitting down, the other one would have to stand ... not to mention the closet space, it would not be enough for the storage of two people's stuff.
      And the bed (on the Escape) could hold two people, yet it seems from the pictures and vids I've seen, the bed in the Bliss studios looks smaller (which, if true, is a smart design idea--makes more floor space in the cabin--the Escape bed was a bit big for one person.)

      +Wild1995Just curious ... and I tried a quick research but nothing came up ... How did NCL get the (negative) feedback about the little cabins (the now-a-days Studios) being too small for two passengers before the ship was launched?

      I’m sorry,but your shower and sink are practically on you bed! I stayed in a solo cabin on the Anthem and it was wayyyyy bigger than this!

      I’m not surprised there is a solo lounge,I’d need somewhere else to go. Nice vid Kevin.

    Nice Job Kevin, This by far my favorite video. If not only because it brings back memories of my cruise, and my cabin. I didn't realize my swim suit was hanging in the shower,
    but as you mentioned - there are those of us who prefer to shower in the spa. Not only did the spa have the jucuzzi and saunas, but they had a snow room with inches of snow
    on the floor and window ledges. It blew out a fog of mist at the top that froze and fell to the ground after cooling off we then jump back in the sauna to warm up.
    Really enjoyed it. Coming from San Diego, it was a nice change. I know that since your in upstate New York a snow cave may not have the appeal I enjoyed. My best to
    Frank, so happy you both a well.

      Hey Gary !!! Thanks.....Glad we could bring back the memories for you !!! I would like the snow cave, but Frank would cut off his arm 1st before he had to go in there !!!! LOL

    Thank you so much for this tour!
    I'll be in 12575 this coming October... I'm actually not travelling solo, but with a large group... but since I don't have $$$$$$$$, I can't afford to join them in the Owners Suite in the Haven, I will visit them though! It's great to see it's similar to the Haven, with access control to the rooms, and our own Lounge, that's amazing!!!
    Oh, and thank you for paying special attention to the power outlets, I have a CPAP Machine, so the North American outlet is a must for me, coming from Canada... and wow, USB outlets, that's great to see!
    Thanks again sir!

    Thank you Kevin. Very informative! There is one tip that I was hoping to see and failed to see it in all other videos: the safe! nobody shows were the safe box is and that is a big concern to me.
    Im going in August and will have a studio cabin. Overall, I love your video. Thx again.

    Amazing that the Bliss (one of the newest and largest ship) has such a small Studio Lounge. It's roughly a third of the size of the Epic's Studio Lounge which has a full service private bar, bartender, pool tables, foosball tables and multiple levels of couches, chairs, and tables, as well as multiple large screen TVs (like a sports bar) as well as the coffee market, juices and desserts trays. NCL Studio Cabins are an awesome way to travel. Great video Kevin

    Thank you for featuring this! My friend and her family are big cruisers. My sweetie? Eh not so much. This gives me the flexibility to tag along with my friend and her family while still having my own space. Plus she can have a quiet place to chill with me when the kids and hubs are driving her bananas. 😁😁😁

    Nicely done, Kevin! I am booked on the Bliss in a studio (12539 to be exact) for November to Mexico. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. It will be my first journey on NCL. I am excited to have access to the studio lounge for coffee and snacks. The cabin does seem tight, but I do like the option. Wishing you and Frank the best, thanks for sharing the Bliss with us!

      You can do it! The cabin is just the right size for 1 and you will love the lounge area. Make sure you go to some single cruiser events down there!!

    I’m going on the NCL Breakaway next October as a solo cruiser. So that’ll be my space for a week. I drive truck so that room looks about 3 times the space I’m used to.

    I have used the studio cabins twice on previous cruises (Epic and Getaway) and both times the lounge was like a ghost town.

    • @ExtraordinaryLiving
      @ExtraordinaryLiving Před 6 lety +1

      Yea, I was on the June 2018 Escape ... same there ... a few times I saw a guest or two dropping in to grab a quick cup of coffee (just like what I was doing), said a quick "good morning", and that was it. Only two times I engaged in a short conversation with fellow morning coffee-grabbers.
      The daily solo/single meetings were held at the Studio Lounge for my cruise (I read from other reviews of other itineraries and ships that sometimes, the meetings were held at other public venues) as the whiteboard had notes that indicated so.
      Disclaimer: I myself was hardly in the lounge, only going in there early morning to grab my Americano.

    I've heard the beds are different in the Studio Cabins than in other types of cabins. Is one still able to stow luggage below the bed?

    • @Cruisingwithwheels
      @Cruisingwithwheels  Před 2 lety

      The only difference is that it is a double bed rather than a single. In most cases you will be able to stow your luggage under the bed.

    I have a question that I should have asked on your last video, but I'm wondering after seeing this on a lot of cruising videos, how and why do you get food and drink gifts from cruise staff? Is it when you get to a certain tear level? Thanks and keep up the great videos, we are NCL cruisers and love the line.

    • @Cruisingwithwheels
      @Cruisingwithwheels  Před 6 lety +1

      The higher the level status you are....the more gifts you'll get. Also, we get gifts from family, friends and fans...as well as they consider us VIP guests " the media " onboard. Sometimes, if you have a problem / issue....they'll send you something.

    THANK YOU so much for this! I booked the single studio sight unseen and was concerned about an inside stateroom because I get disoriented if I can't see outside. This has really settled my mind that the cruise will be fine. BONUS - I had no idea about the lounge. SO EXCITED!
