    Very informative video. I have f30 with n57 engine and when I bought it (55k miles) had service done at 17k 32k and 47k. Changed the oil on the next day and since then was changed every 8-10k. On 100k now with zero problems. The car goes on a long runs from time to time so oil could last even longer I suppose. I think it depends a lot of the way you drive it - if you have a heavy foot should change your oil sooner.

    • @kaurvali
      @kaurvali Před 13 dny +1

      @@mexicanumex So luckily mine was found early but small amount of whiteish smoke was the initial sign, kind of also felt like no power low down in the rpm range. 6 months before the warranty ended I paid for an inspection to take a look at everything in detail (to repair before the warrany ends). They found a cracked EGR radiator but as it did not explain the smoke because the crack was external, they found the turbos. Funnily enough 0 codes or errors except feeling low on power in the low rpm range.

      @@mexicanumex This was 2019, something along the lines of 200€ at an official BMW Service provider (used to be a dealer). Basically on paper it was a pre purchase inspection with a bit of extra on instructed diagnostics for the exhaust smoke. But in reality they basically check everything before the warranty ends as the service provider likes to make money on warranty work and it also makes the client happy to get it for free so a win-win situation. I’ve also done it a bit later on another G12 7 series xDrive and they found a bad transfer case which was fixed under warranty.

      Only if you change the oil after 15-20k miles as bmw recommends . That’s waaaay too long especially for a Diesel engine . Change the oil every 5k miles and turbos will be good till 150k+

      Okay 👍 .. that’s pretty decent then to be fair. Couldn’t agree more on the frequent oil changes, it’s the cheapest maintenance you’ll ever do! Car manufacturers saying their vehicles are good for 20K miles is a load of nonsense in the long run. The second owner is buying a lot of problems/headaches 🤦‍♂️

    Love BMWs, but you need money to keep them on the road. They can’t be run on a budget.

    Another 10-20k miles and the engine will down again because of the bearings 😢
