    According to the manual "The headrest must be adjusted so that max. 2cm (ca. two finger‘s width) or less remains free between the child’s shoulder and the headrest." However, that is nearly impossible for children at 9 months (if he/she does not have basketball player's genes). My 9m-boy is 10 kg and 73 cm tall and when I put him on seat there are nearly 4-5 cm gap between headrest and his shoulders even I adjusted headrest to minimum level. So it seems headrest protectors will not work in this condition. Besides, impact shield is also high and therefore it hits his mouth :/ Additionally, the gap between impact shield and car seat seems so narrow for a little human body and my boy seems really tightened even if I adjust it. So, after spending lots of money I thought that it really ready to use for my child but I have faced that kind of design problems. I have searched for solution to check if I made something wrong but I found nothing. I am not really sure about this car seat is designed for 9 months-9 kg children.

      your child is clearly too small for this seat. not all children grow at the same rate, so the size and age guide is just that - a guide. You should have tested the seat before buying. once your boy is bigger the seat will be fine. plus the child should be rear facing until 15 months under EU i-size regulations so this seat should not really be used before this piint (although of course regulations might be different outside of the EU).

    • @u.c.v
      @u.c.v Před 5 lety +7

      Scott Nye Yes it is clear that he is so small. I have contact dealer of Cybex in Turkey and they said ideal height is 74-75 cm for starting usage. About i-size regulation, yes it is suggested to place small children backwards but if that was a strict rule, these seats had to be forbidden to be suggested as an option for children who are smaller than 105 cm in EU (I bought my seat from Germany). So, i-size is not an obligation, as far as I know, it is just a “better” option.

      @@natooz4116 CYBEX recommends traveling in rear-facing car seats for as long as possible ideally up to the age of 4. In rear-facing position, the energy of a frontal collision is distributed evenly over the large area of the seat and the sensitive body areas of the child are perfectly protected.
      But sometimes, there are reasons that require toddlers to be switched to a forward-facing car seat, for example, a smaller or two-door vehicle.
      In these cases, CYBEX’ forward-facing car seats equipped with an adjustable patented impact shield are the reliable alternative to offer a high degree of protection without confining the child.

      I purchased the axissfix and I live in the USA. It's a 5 point harness car seat that turns a full 360 degrees. I ordered it because I have a lot of health problems and the seat you never have to take out. Just a switch of a button and it turns from rear facing to forward facing. I believe here in the US we have to have a 5 point harness system. It doesn't have to have the chest clip which ultimately is one more step you have to take in case of an accident to get your child out so I find chest clips dangerous imo especially if not placed right on the child. I wish I could get this seat for my 4 year old.

    My boy is 18 months. He risked and still risks to hit his teeth on the impact shield. What's more, the impact shield seems to be too small for my baby: his legs doesn't almost fit under it, and his body is under pressure if I put him on whit his Jacket on (do you rally think we undress our children everytime we use the car?). Moreover even with the correct seatbelt, he pushes away the impact shield and walks free into the car! This is absolutely UNSAFE! I sometimes have to stop the car in the middle of the trip to put my baby inside the cybex again. I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 18KG TO TAKE OFF THE SHIELD but this doesn t seem useful even at 13 kg. • @cybexglobal
      @cybexglobal  Před 5 lety +7

      Hi! The Pallas S-Fix, much like the Pallas M-fix, is a Group 1/2/3 seat designed for children weighing at least 9 kg to a maximum of 36 kg. The child is protected by an adjustable impact shield. For children weighing at least 18 kg, both seats can be converted into a Group 2/3 seat from the CYBEX Solution family in just a few simple steps. Both the Pallas M-Fix and the Pallas S-Fix are ISOFIX Connect seats. They are fitted with fold-away connectors, making them compatible with vehicles without the ISOFIX system as well. Both car seats are designed with a 3-position reclining headrest. They are also equipped with a base that can be easily adjusted with just one hand, so that the seat can be positioned in a comfortable recline function. The main difference between both seats lies in their design. The Pallas S-fix follows a new design DNA and is 15% more spacious than the Pallas M-Fix due to material adjustments in the interior of the seat. At the same time, the Pallas S-Fix is 10% narrower than the Pallas M-Fix with regards to the external dimensions of the seat. Other safety features include the Linear Side-impact Protection System (L.S.P.) which both car seats are equipped with, but which has been further optimized in case of the Pallas S-fix.
      For any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Best, CYBEX

This one slides to adjust with the button on the front. Check you haven’t pushed it to close to the body 👍🏽The impact shield I have found to be extremely useful. I have used one for all 3 of my children because they have long legs, and rear facing after a while just squashed their legs. Taking into consideration the risk with a 5 point harness used on a child under 4, facing front, the impact shield is a great alternative so much safer. I have this one, and the Kiddy seat too.
