I feel like most of the reason his neck is more tucked in than usual (other than being in a horsemanship class) is that his neck is a lot more thicker, shorter, and it kinda has a 'triangle' shape to it. None the less, the horse is drop dead gorgeous and had a great pattern!

comparing a show horse to a barrel horse is wrong. two totally different events, for starters, one has control the other doesn't... this horse is well disciplined, barrel horses just run and run and run. and horsemanship is actually based on the riders skill so id like to see barrel racers compete against this.

Barrel horses are not all run :) they have to know some very, very important fundamentals. Don't let a few bad apples ruin the bunch!

You should think before you post & realize their is a human being who has to read these nasty comments about their very lovely horse. It's called the Thumper Rule- if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all, TrueMouthRunner. You were so busy picking apart the horse, that you failed to see the flawless pattern this young lady ran, which is what horsemanship is actually all about.

The horse is behind the vertical all the time. A rider should study the biomechanics of the horse and movements and how to keep them sound through healthy posture and gaits.

I am a strong believer in training. However I've never ever seen (or heard of) a western pleasure horse doing speed events, especially at a world show caliber. Is your horse specifically bred for western pleasure? A lot of the WP horses at my barn are very naturally lazy, wouldn't be able to do barrels (well not as good as others). My filly sees a horse running and I swear shes starts to sweat shes that lazy, lol.

Your kidding me right? Your comparing a insane BARREL horse that GALLOPS to a calm horsemanship horse?

I love when gamers who have some of the worst horsemanship skills I've seen at local shows talk negative on subjects unknown to them. My World qualifier (3x) some how managed to run barrels, chase cows and still remain collected enough for AQHA shows to win western pleasure classes. It's all in training,

Well, barrel horses are alot different than pleasure horses.

If only she weren't riding her horse behind the vertical at parts of the performance. Such a shame.

  • @nadanumber1

She thinks she was going fast and said speed added difficulty. That horse isn't even cantering fast

They call that horsemanship?? And I know the facts how they train them and I'm a barrel racer and well my horses are fast whith there heads up

The rider is too stiff. I would like to see riders to loosen up…ride with their horse and body. It’s like watching those stick figures we drew as kids riding their horses. There is no harmony.

Why do you guys support the violent "sport" known as horse tripping? Do you not realize how fragile our equine companion's legs are?
