    I LOVE the way a saddlebred can canter RIGHT FROM a standstill; never seen another breed do that so incredibly easily. FABULOUS horses; Ive had other breeds but once I rode a saddlebred, no other breed would do.

    I believe these are saddlebreds and yes....dressed up western. I have to say it is nicer to look at than the crippled paints and quarter horses.

      @@hrsnrnd10 how do the Saddlebreds with their necks high in the air squished to their neck look better than the AQHA WP. Nothing wrong with liking it better, I was just curious. Cause like, I find the Saddlebreds look uncomfortable but I guess people say that about the quarter horses. I just find the quarter horses looked more relaxed. And I guess I know the training methods of different trainers and I've always been around the quarter horses and paints so I know that it does not hurt the horses and that they are well taken care of. I just was wondering what made u like the Saddlebreds more? Because they go faster? Or because their heads aren't low?

    My ignorance is going to show, but, are these Saddlebreds under western gear?

      Janet Smith Yes, these are American Saddlebreds. Saddlebreds are a very versatile breed doing everything from saddleseat to jumping to dressage to western. This is the finals for world champion junior exhibitor class for Saddlebreds.

    Hollow backs, riders sitting on their loins, severe bits and artificial tails. Not good.

      1 The majority of the horses don't have a hollow back, you also do realize Swayback is a common GENETIC issue in Saddlebreds so you will see some who have it.
      2 The riders are sitting no further back than anyone else who rides in a western saddle.
      3 The bits aren't severe, those type of show mouth pieces might appear bigger but they really aren't and alot of them have rubber lined bits.
      4 Alot of gaited breeds when ever they move will raise the tail, if it's slightly raised, sticking up, cocked to the side or even bent in the middle, those are all natural. Also there's absolutely nothing wrong with hair extensions, tho alot of Saddlebred owners do keep it naturally long by braiding it into a tail bag.

    • @dshe8637
      @dshe8637 Před rokem

      @@introvertedequinesamsara6593 They aren't moving in self-carriage; they are hollow.
      The bits are curbs, so rubber lining makes no difference.
      Tail cutting and strapping is common.
      The loins aren't muscled enough to support weight, so the SI joint is under immense pressure

    • @introvertedequinesamsara6593
      @introvertedequinesamsara6593 Před rokem

      @@dshe8637 1 self carriage doesn't come from lowering the head, you can bring up the back by having them ingaged in the hind.
      2 The bits are FES show bits, the mouth pieces aka the actual part that goes in their mouths does matter as it changes how severe it is. If you know how to ride in a bit that has a shank it's not anymore severe than any other bit, even a snaffle can be more severe than a shank if it's abused.
      3 horses who've had the nerve in their tails cut can not move their tails... btw this isn't a Saddlebred issue, it's been a issue in western pleasure for a long time.
      4 Again they're in a regular westerm saddle, just because the skirt is slightly touching the loins doesn't mean they are. If you want to see people actually sitting on the horse's loins look no further than all the short backed QHs used in reining, cutting, barrel etc.

    • @dshe8637
      @dshe8637 Před rokem

      @@introvertedequinesamsara6593 a horse cannot engage the hocks with this position. The spine flexes the wrong way.
      Any curb on a bit is severe due to leverage. The only way a rider can avoid causing pain with a curb is to drop the reins completely and then there's no point in having reins. Single-jointed snaffles can be severe too, due to squeezing the bars and lips and hitting the roof of the mouth, but a straight bar, mullen or a Dr Bristol are much better

      @dshe8637 Před rokem

      @@introvertedequinesamsara6593 Even horses who haven't had tail nerves cut, have the tendon cut and set. This restricts its movement until it stretches back. It's just tacky to see artificial tails, isn't it?
