If you love the “theatrics” of this song, you would also love A Frozen Serenade czcams.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/video.html It’s also VERY theatrical. And as far as Miyako being classically trained, you hit it spot on. She was actually planning to become a professional pianist until she decided to pick up the guitar at 18. Had been playing piano since she was 3. She is most definitely a musical genius. She tends to incorporate a LOT of classical themes into her solo's.
I watched dozens of reactions to this song, and your's is the best I've seen. Your passion for & knowledge of music, and your appreciation of the talent that LOVEBITES have on the stage is a pleasure to watch. Even to correctly identify the piece by Chopin is unusual among reactors (Most American reactors pronounce his name CHOPPING).
At eighteen, after studying classical piano for fifteen years, Miyako went to university to take a music degree and most likely was on course for a career as a classical pianist. However at university (maybe as an act of rebellion against 15 years of rigid classical training), she picked up a guitar and taught herself to play from a teach yourself book of heavy metal riffs and I believe the first riff she learned to play was Metallica's "Master of Puppets". She carried on with her university degree course and graduated but by the time she was twenty or so she was playing guitar in all female metalcore band called A Drop of Joker and the rest is history. Her parents bought her a Yamaha baby grand when she was thirteen which she affectionately calls "her best buddy" and says that it "made her who she is". (She saved her pocket money and replaced the plastic piano keys with wooden keys.) She is releasing a CD of her piano renditions of six of her favourite hard rock and metal songs at the end of the month. I have a copy on order. Like you I would like to hear recordings of her playing piano pieces by her favourite C19th. Romantic composers, she has an excellent technique, a very strong left hand and great lift too.
Miyako did compose & arranged this song, one of six she composed for the Electric Pentagram album. In June, Miyako will be releasing an EP of piano covers, songs included are; Battery ( Metallica ) The Loner ( Gary Moore ) Eagle Fly Free ( Helloween ) Burn ( Deep Purple ) Addicted ( LoveBites ) and Far Beyond the Sun ( Yngwie Malmsteen ) She has been playing piano since age 3 and didn't pick up the guitar until she was 18. 😏❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
I don't know what it is, but when she reaches up to slide her pick off the piano at the end of the intro, there's just something so...... so ..... metal ? about it.
Very nice reaction finally someone who knows. Most of the other reactors except music teachers know their classical music. Miyako started playing piano at three and picked up guitar at 18 self-taught on guitar. Yes she combines rock and classical in their songs, and a lot of the old metal bands influence.
Quite possibly the greatest song I have heard or seen performed. I love Lovebites, but this is something truly special. I agree with you that Miyako is operating on a genius level within the band. I hope when I finally do manage to see them live that they do play this one. I'm subscribed, but I can't remember if you have seen Frozen Serenade yet. If you love this one, you'll enjoy that one for sure. A lot of people call that one the masterpiece (for me, it is this one), but both of these songs are among the best things you can hear anywhere.
Congratulations on finding Miyako’s godlike talent. But let me say you’ll be more blown away if you watch “Burden of time”. You must witness incredible Miyako’s performance you never experienced .
Best Swan Song reaction I've seen, thank you. Nice to see recognition of Miyako's prodigious talent, and an interesting point about the theatrical style presentation. The cameras don't really catch it, but during Miyako's piano outro, Asami performs a "dying swan" dance, a la Swan Lake. So that's three classical influences in the one song, Chopin, Dvorak and Tchiakovski!
To be completely accurate "the Dying Swan" was not originally a part of the Swan Lake choreography. It was a solo dance choreographed by Mikail Fokine to the music of Camilli Saint-Saens piece "Le Cygne" (The Swan) in 1905. Fokine choreographed the dance specially for the legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova who performed it over 4,000 times in her career. Asami's short interpretation of the dance (as well as you can do in high heels!) fits the theme of the song which is mired in the Greek myth that a swan only sings once in it's life; just as it is dying. Hence the use in modern terminology for a swan song; being the penultimate act before the end. Only later did the Dying Swan become incorporated into some interpretations of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
Enjoyed this reaction a lot. Have listened to this piece a lot. My fav in this song is short and sweet and that is the kanon in the guitarsolo between M&M. Guitar solo? Have You done their song When Destines Align? The live version is amazing but the MV I think is better for your ears. And the solo... My o My....
Miyako began piano at 3 yo, not that unusual in Japan. She was on track for a classical pianist and/or a certified piano sensi. She decided to go into metal music at 18 yo. I believe so she could compose. Miyako composed the music & did the arrangement - Asami, vocal wrote the lyrics. They are the main songwriter team. Miyako is self-taught on the guitar. Started at 18, got a guitar with some "How To" books, first riffs she play were from Metallica!! She also plays drums and bass. Nice singing voice too. Miyako has her own YT channel, well worth watching. She explains her modifications to her Dean!! If you watch/listen to this again, listen very closely to Haruna on the drums.
If you haven't already figured it out you are Looking at a band that is comprised of Professor Levels of Music understanding, writing, playing as well as Performance. This band is so well thought out it blows my mind. And then they do so almost effortlessly compared with the other 99.9% of us in the World. Years from now Lovebites will be a band that is still beloved and appreciated for the God's that they are. They are a Throw back too All the Great Hard Rock and Metal of Past yet completely Lovebites Modern Classic. They are Perfection and with 4 albums of the same Vigorous Musicianship and only Growing Stronger with each passing year.
You sadly missed the signed version. She will give her autograph for all orders that came in until a few days ago on a CZcams livestream. Can‘t wait to get it. The release is in June …
Another kinda in the theatrical realm is Edge of the World but not as much. So much in this song to unpack but Haruna's drumming in this is genius. During that 80's synth notice the rest of the band is on repeat and Haruna is doing all the tension building. All of them do some level of arranging. Asami writes majority of the lyrics, all on the newest album.
Your reactions get better and better. You will not find a better band than Lovebites in musical history. Bold statement, but I mean it. They are THAT good. Not only are they unbelievable musicians but watching and listening to them is joyful, uplifting. Their lyrics are positive and inspiring, and they interact with and appreciate their fans to a degree no band of my 50 years of listening to rock music has ever done. “Dystopia Symphony” from the “Glory, Glory to the World” is a must for you. No video but you’re reacting to music so who cares. “Lost in the Garden” from the recently released “Judgement Day” album will do unnatural things to you.🙂
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES. Your wealth of knowledge and excellent analysis. There is nothing that I would point out. Keep LOVEBITES in your future. Fami is also great at keeping up with Haruna without any difficulty. In Japan, piano lessons are often chosen for early childhood education. The delicate, fast touch of their fingertips may be the result of piano lessons in childhood. P.S. Someone should correct any mistakes! Asami plays the 'dying swan' at the end. The song has a Japanese 'enka(演歌)' element to it.
great to see a reactor, who knows his stuff and can really appreciate their accomplishments. you really earned a sub. when miyako shreds her dean, the piano comes from the backtrack (here: inspired by chopins "ocean etude). yes, they´ve a lot of little inricacies in their songs. miyako is lovebites main composer (about 70%), she finishes and arranges the complete demos incl. drums in her homestudio and brings them to the band to work on them together. whole band is not from this world
They're all incredible in their own right, this particular genre blending isn't something I come across often so to see it done this well is a welcome surprise. Thank you for the compliments and I'm glad you stopped by!
Thanks for the reaction! "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. "Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which Swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of Swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the "death of the Swan", Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurais and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurais and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle warriors) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles.
LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics: If this was the last day you could live on this earth Would you still go on, accusing someone for today It’s better to fail than not do anything at all It is not the length, but depth of life that counts Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life Sometimes the life of one can save so many more Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: miyako / both Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: midori ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Electric Pentagram 01/29/2020
All the ladies in LOVEBITES (Miho, Haruna, Midori, Asami, Miyako, and new bassist Fami) have been playing piano/keyboards since childhood. For example, Midori (guitar) has been playing the piano since the age of 2, Miyako (guitar) has been playing since the age of 3, Miho (bass) has been playing since the age of 5. Miyako wanted to pursue a career as a professional pianist. But while in high school, at the age of 18, she picked up the guitar for the first time and taught herself how to play it. Miyako is the band's main composer. She wrote approximately 50% of LOVEBITES' music. Basically, Miyako composes the music alone. With the exception of 3 songs that she co-wrote with other members of the band. Midori started playing the guitar at the age of 20. She was educated (guitar) at "ESP/MI", GIT-DX (Super Fast Guitar Department) in Osaka ( Japan). "ESP/MI" is the international Music Institute, which was opened by "Electric Sound Products" (ESP), headquartered in headquartered in Hollywood (California, US). Midori often uses keyboards to compose music, including guitar solos. Asami (lead vocals) is the main lyricist of the band's songs, most of the lyrics are written by her (approximately 70%). Asami also writes music. But since she cannot play the guitar, she composes music on the piano. While recording Аlbums, LOVEBITES also use keyboards&synthesizers. The keyboard parts are Miyako's work. LOVEBITES concerts use pre-recorded keyboards parts (backing track) when Miyako is busy with guitar and unable to play keyboards (piano). But there is one song ("Burden of Time") during the performance of which (at concerts) Miyako simultaneously plays the keyboards solo with her right hand, and the guitar (chords) with her left hand. The arrangement of the song "Swan Song" is a collaboration between all members of the band. Likewise, the arrangement of all other songs (except the song "Inspire") is the work of all members of the band.
Yes Miyako is the main composer (more than 50%), and the other members have all contributed partial or full songs. Asami the vocalist does the lyrics and she has contributed to other bands (more on that in a second). The other main composer is Mao (~40%), who is the keyboardist of Lightbringer and contributes to other bands as well. Asami and Mao have both heavily contributed to a band called Lonesome_Blue, which has been promoted by Lovebites. Lovebites, Lonesome_Blue and Nemophila are all related to each other as they all have ex-members of Destrose (Lovebites: Haruna and Miho (before she left), Lonesome_Blue: Narumi and Nemophila: Saki) and are on good terms; also Saki and Miyako are friends and Narumi and Hazuki (Nemophila) were in Disqualia together). Manchester City without Erling Haaland: hard to conceive. Heavy Metal without Lovebites: inconceivable. These fantastic ladies have (re-)invigorated and further developed the genre in many, many ways. On the scene since 2016 and absolutely brilliant ever since. How can a band be that incessantly great?
I like when real musicians react to Lovebites because they really appreciate their talent, skills and musicianship. You did an amazing job analyzing this masterpiece and I do appreciate it. My next suggestions are "Thunder vengeance", "The awakening/Hammer of Wrath", "Shadowmaker", "Raise some hell", "Empty daydream", "Edge of the world", "Epilogue" (all live)
Your review is the best moment of my day. Great analysis and excellent interpretation. Wolfpack never mind how you call the musician's name. You can call the drummer, the singer , the blond guitarist or the dark haired guitarist, or the bassist. I think what I'm gonna write here must've been commented by other guys already, forgive me in that case. Yes, Miyako is a classic pianist who also plays guitar. Just as you guessed, she started playing piano at her three and started teaching herself guitar at eighteen. BTW, Midori started at her twenty, a surprise. About this song, I think you know about the tragedy in its back story of Revolutionary Etude about Polish cadets and rebels arose against Russian rule, which is about death of heroes. Then Swan Song comes which is about death of heroes, dedication and sacrifice, and honor and glory. Yes Revolutionary Etude + Swan Song is not just a coincidence. It is a suite. I recommend A Frozen Serenade for your next reaction to Lovebites. It is a very theatrical and most beautiful progressive with surprises again. czcams.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/video.html&pp=ygUbbG92ZWJpdGVzIGEgZnJvemVuIHNlcmVuYWRl
You've hit the nail on the head with this reaction ! The piano intro performed by maestro Miyako was indeed from Frédéric Chopin's Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor, also known as the "Revolutionary Étude". In an interview, Miyako mentioned that she also rearranged Antonín Dvořák's "New World Symphony" and incorporated that into "Swan Song's" chorus. Miyako is a classically-trained pianist since the age of 3 and was well on her way to become a concert pianist. Then at the age of 18, she picked up a guitar and she taught herself how to play with a series of instruction books. She also composed and arranged about 50% of Lovebites' current discography, including "Swan Song". With her classical music background, Miyako likes to seamlessly integrate neoclassical metal elements into some of the tracks she composes and arranges. Her favorite composers are those from the Romantic era like Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninoff. Here's another song composed and arranged by Miyako : "Dystopia Symphony" (currently only audio on YT), and it's a tribute to Beethoven at the time when he came to terms with his hearing loss
The moment of silence shown when Asami takes over from the guitar solo... This is a rendition that is often used in visuals, sound, anime, and comics in Japan. I heard that this is a method that is not very familiar in Europe and the United States. I heard the episode before... At the climax of Ghibli's anime "Princess Mononoke", there is a scene where all sound stops for a few seconds when the god of the mountain descends. This is a production that expresses the feeling that time has frozen for a moment. When this anime was screened in American theaters, many spectators began to make a fuss when this scene was shown. "Hey, the speaker is broken. Please fix it quickly!" It seems that it is often interesting to observe the differences in national character and sensibilities regarding music and theater. (Sorry for going a little off topic from LOVEBITES) ---------- from Nippon *It is a sentence using Google translation. I hope I conveyed my intentions correctly.
Thank you for featuring more Lovebites! You already knew some of this, but here is the background on "Swan Song": Chopin was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor), with a passage from Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto #2 as the outro. For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows.
I must confess that this reaction will probably enter my top three list of reactions to this performance and I must also confess that I have seen a few so, Great Reaction! Okay, maybe slightly more than a few...
Miyako is one of the main composers and yes she loves to incorporate the classical element into all her compositions, all five women are classically trained pianists and all 5 are excellent composers. All five ladies pitch in to arrange the songs Asami being the main poet who writes most of the lyrics. many will come and tell you that the outro is a Dvorak piece don't believe it it is Miyako's own piece
@@Memento_Mori This is a huge talent of all ladies + many years of hard work, which contributed to the talent to manifest itself in all the diversity of LOVEBITES music.
To help you out: Haruna - drums (2016-present) Midori - guitars, backing vocals (2016-present) (blonde ponytail) Miyako - guitars, keyboards, backing vocals, main composer (2016-present) (dark hair) Asami - lead vocals, piano; writes a lot of the lyrics (2016-present) Fami-bass (just joined the band in Sept. 2022, master of slap and shred bass) Former member: Miho - bass, backing vocals, founder and bandleader (2016-2021) wrote some of their thrashier songs, eg. Thunder Vengeance Now, if you want another that will "hit you that way", your best bet is the 2021 live version of "Frozen Serenade". For a lot of us, this is a masterpiece, rivalling "Swan Song" as their greatest performance. czcams.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/video.html
I knew it was right when I heard the melody after I was talking about the history of it, super recognizable for me since I have a few pianist friends I've heard perform it. A lot of classical musicians could have been considered "metal" at the time because what they wrote is the equivalent of what some people call "loud and obnoxious" referring to modern metal and hard rock. Blending the older perceptions with the modern ones is just another layer of what makes this so great.
@@Memento_Mori lol.. I did, very much and it was nice to see someone finally make a comparison to European symphonic metal - that's what they brought to mind the first time I heard them. Wonderful , educated review. you get it. one of the best things i have seen and heard in years. Yes Miyako did write and arrange the central song. 16 years on piano, and then taught herself guitar... from a BOOK! WTF ? The piano is a digital Roland. has to be for touring, as tuning after moving it every show would be nightmare. Miyako said in an interview , the keys are hard to get used to , and she wasn't happy with her performance of the Chopin piece . Again ...WTF ??? i think would appreciate Frozen Serenade . cheers from Australia, and keep up the reviews please,
In fact, ALL ladies have been playing piano/keyboards since childhood. Midori has even more piano/keyboards experience than Miyako (by one year). When Midori and Asami compose music, they use keyboards. On Midori's social media, during LOVEBITES' streams, it is seen that there are keyboards in Midori's apartment. Participation of Mao (Studio Albums, EPs, Single, Compilation Album): Mao composed music for 8 songs. Music for 19 songs composed by members of the band & Mao . Arrangements of 27 songs ( 8+19) are LOVEBITES & Mao. The rest of the music was written and arranged without input from Mao.
I grew up listening to the Beatles, my first classical record I bought was Grieg's Peer Gynt. I progressed via Black Sabbath to Dream theater and from Purcell to Handel's oratorio's to having discussions about how Baroque and metal are similar ( not many bought it). However, I have always wanted to see the two combined. Swan song is the epitome of my thinking and to hear someone with the same passion, speak with such clarity on this piece is amazing. Mem3nto you seen as I seen it and just for that alone I could watch this reaction time and time again!! By the way did you pick up on the Bach in Miyako's solo. As for the silent break you already know my thoughts on that!! Great reaction on a very complicated and well put together piece, thank you 🤟😎
All right well you deserve a sub for dropping that classical music knowledge off the top of your head. I love early Kamelot too. Lovebites is probably my favorite symphonic/power metal band right now. I found out about them a couple of years ago, because I was watching a sumo match, and there was a woman in the front row wearing a Lovebites t-shirt. So I googled them, lol.
I was a little surprised you didn't notice (or at least didn't mention) that the beginning of the first guitar solo is the same melody as the Chopin piece.
She's a classical trained piano player since age 3. Selftaught guitar since 18. Almost always look if she's bored when playing. Which I'm sure she isn't :)
This is late, but I wasn't able to Comment when I watched it last month. While there is nothing wrong with a 'Lovebites Channel' (my Favorite band), I wanted to help with your exploration. There is Another band, just as talented and mindblowing in composition and musicianship as Lovebites. Unlucky Morpheus calls their music 'technical melodic speed metal' - but the melodic influences are Very classical. And to help with the symphonic sound they have an ex-child prodigy on Violin named Jill who can Shred like a *Beast.* Their Live performances are very theatrical and the vocalist is as amazing as Asami. Dignity of Spirit - czcams.com/video/x7W9DcUKY_U/video.html . Glad I subbed, I'm really enjoying your journey to Japan. I really like that you 'get it' with Music - as a musician, it is a JOY to see someone who understands what they are seeing React to really good New Experiences.
Yes! Other´s have probably already answered you - but it is Miyako that write their stuff. Almost all of it. Asami is mostly writing the texts. Miyako is a kind of genius. She is a bit introvert and very concentrated on their concerts. Which is by many faulty interpreted as disinterest. You saw her on the piano. Was she disinterested? Nope, just concentrated.

Miyako started playing piano at three and picked up guitar at 18 self-taught on guitar. Yes she combines rock and classical in their songs, and a lot of the old metal bands influence.
Great reaction! Your analysis of Miyako was spot on. Really impressive for a third listen to LOVEBITES music 👍🏻
Thank you!
The Goddesses of Heavy Metal! 🤘🏻🐺 I think you would love A Frozen Serenade by Lovebites. The live version is very theatrical.
I'm getting that suggestion a lot on this video, I'm going to do that soon.
In background you can hear another Chopin etude: "Ocean", always play and recorded by Miyako!
I didn't catch that, their attention to visual storytelling is just as poignant as the audio.
Miyako is set to release a piano solo album next month. Of course I pre-ordered.
Whaaaaaaaat, I'm going to go pre-order that right now.
Me too.👍
me too.✨🥰🤘
You sadly missed the signed version. She will give her autograph for all orders that came in until a few days ago on a CZcams livestream. Can‘t wait to get it. The release is in June …
me too🤘🐺🎹
Another kinda in the theatrical realm is Edge of the World but not as much.
“Lost in the Garden” from the recently released “Judgement Day” album will do unnatural things to you.🙂
I'll look into all of those! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES.
Your wealth of knowledge and excellent analysis.
There is nothing that I would point out.
Keep LOVEBITES in your future.
Asami(Vo) has been studying classical ballet from the age of 2 to 18.
Asami (Vo) was originally an R&B and soul singer.
She had never listened to metal music at all, which she says was "music from another dimension.
Discover another of Asami's talents, having moved on from R&B and soul.
You can then check Asami's wide-range belt from low to high frequencies.
Miyako(G, Key and Piano Black hair) started taking piano lessons at the age of 3. At the age of 18, she discovered the electric guitar. Miyako was inquisitive and dexterous in everything she did, so she taught herself with a lesson book, and here she is today.
Midori(G Those without black hair.) has taken piano lessons since she was 2 years old, electone lessons since she was 13 years old, and electric guitar lessons since she was 20 years old.
Midori was introduced to the electric guitar while attending a well-known, top-ranked Japanese pharmaceutical university. She enrolled in the music school MI JAPAN Osaka to become a guitarist and dropped out of pharmacy school.
MI JAPAN Osaka School was reborn as one of the courses of the vocational school ESP Entertainment Osaka from April 2018.
Haruna(Dr) can also play piano to some extent.
Haruna started learning to play the drums at the age of 13.
Haruna's amazing endurance, concentration and improved technique have taken LOVEBITES to another level.
Haruna's favorite band is "Helloween".
Miho(Ba First bassist) can also play piano and drum to some extent.
Fami(Ba A new bassist) can play bass guitar, lead guitar, piano and violin.
Oops, got the time frame wrong on when the Etude was written, but I love the backstory of the song you provided. Thank you!
LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven

You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time

For “Swan Song” Miyako combined elements of two of her favorite classics: Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude and Dvorak’s New World Symphony 🎹🔥🎸🔥🤘🐺
And I absolutely love it.
Yeah, Lovebites doing Lovebites stuff. They are at the top of the genre. The deck is stacked. This is lightning in a bottle.
Absolutely top-tier.
She play with HER right hand and HER left hand. (Just couldn't resist that little correction)
@@jlrutube1312 I understood you. 😊I corrected it to "her". Thanks for pointing out my mistake.👍
piano since she was 3 guitar since she was 18 she is also an amazing composer and plays a few more instrument's including drums
She's a modern virtuoso.
@@Memento_Mori they all are, too much talent for just one band this is the song that made me a die hard fan
Lovebites, Lonesome_Blue and Nemophila are all related to each other as they all have ex-members of Destrose (Lovebites: Haruna and Miho (before she left), Lonesome_Blue: Narumi and Nemophila: Saki) and are on good terms; also Saki and Miyako are friends and Narumi and Hazuki (Nemophila) were in Disqualia together). if you haven't already "A Frozen Serenade" should e your next one its very theatrical also the drummer Haruna loves Kamalot
I'll definitely add that.
Welcome to the WOLFPACK. So many more amazing live videos to experience. The Thrash songs are my favorites.
Indeed a thorough analysis!
For another theatrical performance, check out A Frozen Serenade.
For their heavier side, check out Set the World on Fire, Break the Wall, The Hammer of Wrath
For their funny side, check out Raise Some Hell.
Great reaction, man.Enjoy Lovebites every day :)
I was going to ask him to react to Dystopia Symphony
@@alekhidell While we're at it, we should also add "Lost in the Garden" to the list, a track inspired by Franz Liszt's "La Campanella"
@@boyzyu check the comment I made straight after this reply to you…🙂
I've got Dystopia Symphony on the list!

Please fix it quickly!"
It seems that it is often interesting to observe the differences in national character and sensibilities regarding music and theater.
(Sorry for going a little off topic from LOVEBITES)

*It is a sentence using Google translation. I hope I conveyed my intentions correctly.
An other great piano intro "The final collision" Miyako plays No.2 piano concerto Rachmaninov.
Yeah! And Miyako also plays Rachmaninov: Moments Musicaux op.16, No.4, intro for "Empty Daydream".
Great to have a reactor who really knows his classical music. Impressive reaction.
That means a lot, it's a bit of an eccentric interest these days so it's nice to find people that also appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
The wolf pack appreciates your reaction¡¡...for knowledge in music reactions are valued... and you have it of course...regards from Chile...
And I appreciate you. Thank you for the compliment and I'm glad you enjoyed!
Great review/reaction. This song and performance is like having all your birthdays come at once. Pure gold.👍🤘
Thank you for sharing your love of music!
10 minutes or 20 minutes to do it doesn't matter!
Much Love to You! and Ukraine
💙💛💙🌻🌻🌻
I like watching reactions to Lovebites, but the rare ones coming from people who actually have musical knowledge are the best. Thank you so much!
I must confess that this reaction will probably enter my top three list of reactions to this performance and I must also confess that I have seen a few so, Great Reaction! Okay, maybe slightly more than a few...
you know your classical - nailed it the first time. as did miyako !
They're all incredible, I absolutely love how well they work together to blend influences and ideas.
@@Memento_Mori This is a huge talent of all ladies + many years of hard work, which contributed to the talent to manifest itself in all the diversity of LOVEBITES music.
Great reaction - Miyako is like a musical wizardess! And yes, many of the more classical influenced tracks are Miyako compositions 🤘
To help you out:
Haruna - drums (2016-present)
Midori - guitars, backing vocals (2016-present) (blonde ponytail)
Miyako - guitars, keyboards, backing vocals, main composer (2016-present) (dark hair)
Asami - lead vocals, piano; writes a lot of the lyrics (2016-present)
Fami-bass (just joined the band in Sept. 2022, master of slap and shred bass)
Former member: Miho - bass, backing vocals, founder and bandleader (2016-2021) wrote some of their thrashier songs, eg. Thunder Vengeance
Now, if you want another that will "hit you that way", your best bet is the 2021 live version of "Frozen Serenade". For a lot of us, this is a masterpiece, rivalling "Swan Song" as their greatest performance. czcams.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/video.html
I've gotten that suggestion a few times, I'll add it to the list!
❤bite rock's brow! Awesome reaction keep it up 👊
Behold, the power of Miyako! ❤
yes its the revolutionary etude
I knew it was right when I heard the melody after I was talking about the history of it, super recognizable for me since I have a few pianist friends I've heard perform it. A lot of classical musicians could have been considered "metal" at the time because what they wrote is the equivalent of what some people call "loud and obnoxious" referring to modern metal and hard rock. Blending the older perceptions with the modern ones is just another layer of what makes this so great.
Loved it! 🤘🏳🌈(⚵⚶⚴𓁴⚳⚢⚸)🦘

@@Memento_Mori lol.. I did, very much and it was nice to see someone finally make a comparison to European symphonic metal - that's what they brought to mind the first time I heard them.
I'm hoping you keep going - not only with Lovebites but with other amazing all female bands from Japan - and elsewhere lol
I'll look at the videos you've already done and see what new stuff I can suggest.

@@Sapphos_daughter I really appreciate that, thank you for the kind words!
Again ...WTF ???
i think would appreciate Frozen Serenade . cheers from Australia, and keep up the reviews please,
Subbed, because you gave credit and recognition to the dead stop moment. Real musicians appreciate a well placed dead stop.
Thank you! I love a good use of silence and this one was stellar.
“There is no keyboardist”? Well there actually 2 keyboardists: Miyako and Mao, they both write most of their songs, but they all contribute.
I meant at the time I heard the keys :)
@@Memento_Mori The keys are on the backing tracks, when Miyako goes back to play the piano, you hear her guitar on the backing track. 🤘
Participation of Mao (Studio Albums, EPs, Single, Compilation Album):
Mao composed music for 8 songs.
Music for 19 songs composed by members of the band & Mao . Arrangements of 27 songs ( 8+19) are LOVEBITES & Mao.
The rest of the music was written and arranged without input from Mao.
Truly a great reaction 🙏❣ 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

My pleasure!
Masterpiece.
Well done analysis!
You 110% get this song, better analyzed than anyone I have ever heard react to this song.
I was a little surprised you didn't notice (or at least didn't mention) that the beginning of the first guitar solo is the same melody as the Chopin piece.
I think at that point I was just listening to listen. It's a really cool touch that makes everything even more cohesive.
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘
THEY'RE SO GOOD.
I usually catch what the guitars and bass are doing on the first or second listen, but I almost always notice something new with Haruna on the drums.
Miho Miho Miho! I think (if not already suggested) that the "E songs" would be Your cup of tea "Epilogue" "Edge of the World" and "Empty Daydream"
You gotta do "Break The Wall" and "Hammer Of Wrath" next those are 2 of Lovebites' thrashier songs
Frozen Serenade next plz if you haven't already done it. It's a masterpiece.
This is very CHOPIN influenced piano playing
Truly masterpiece, epic
I remember seeing EPICA FOR SYMPHONY X..IN 2019
