Very sweet beginner lead lick to play really loud with smooth distortion. Basically just start on high E and walk backwards down the E Major scale. If you didn't E Maj, now you do :) I would recommend learning the whole thing in 9th position with a pinky stretch to grab the high F#. Also, slide into the E and D at the beginning of each phrase. To the uploader: I agree that E sounds much better on the 9th with open strings. I can't find 2 tabs that have the same chords for this song! Yours work.
I cobbled together a "passable" version of this for my band, and was having trouble with that 2 bar interlude. Thank you for putting this one together. Again, where so many others failed, you hit a home run! Cheers!

This is an excellent lesson, Carl! The one chord that didn't sound quite right to me was the C / G that ends the chorus. After watching a live acoustic performance, I worked out the sound and discovered that Am add 9 / C sounds very good! In tab form, thats X3220X. Give it a try! (Thanks for the tip !) By-the-way, I'm also fairly certain that the "F♯ min" chord shown in this video (starting at the 3:42 time-counter mark), is _actually_ an "F♯ min7th". Minor chords sound "sad", while minor-seventh chords sound "jazzy and breezy" - , and on the original recording of this song, that segment sounds "jazzy and breezy". _Otherwise_ , this does strike me as being a good lesson video.
