Not to be a Debby Downer but this is a feature of unreal engine with its animation system. Itâs gotten even better in version 5. Saves both programmers and animators tons of work by automatically moving a character mesh in ways that make sense for how the player is interacting with the environment. Itâs good that they are exploiting all of Unreal 4s features for this game. I hope they move to Unreal 5 for the sequel (there is a lot of unresolved plot to explore).
As a game dev myself one thing I found very well done was how the joints work so well (Probably not something people tend to watch too closely) Noticed while I was fishing that Eve legs actually move and place according to the ground beneath her, unlike in some games where they tend to just float a few inches above the ground or something.
The ocean maiden suit is the thickest in the game. It actually changes her thickness. Attention to detail is insane.
And the purple Bikini makes her less thicc then default. It's as if she has 3 body types.

On Spire 4, while going up the passenger elevator and after the robot maid is destroyed, the song changes and sounds much more robotic and broken. This was an awesome detail imo!

I love how a complaint some are saying is that Eve has no personality. But she'll look at you and react to walls and give some cool reactions. She feels more real and personal than a lot of other characters I've seen lately in AAA games by a landslide
Whether or not someone has a personality has nothing to do with how they cling to walls or stare at the camera.
Face it, Eve has the charisma of a rock.
The thing is, she isnât supposed to have personality because sheâs just here to kill Naytiba. She is from a military space station. I donât think thereâs much room to develop a personality in that environment.

Thereâs also a statue in Eidos 7 (when you drain the water) where if you hit it a lot of gold pours out (and I mean A LOT). Itâs of a woman lying down. Accidentally found it a few days ago.

Iâm really glad EVE looks back at the camera. In Stellar Bladeâs development, EVEâs face changed 3 times. Kinda wish we got makeup customization, but eh, I understand why because of the amount rendering in Stellar Bladeâs environments, particle effects, and EVEâs hair is OOF.
A EVE is also on the train in the train-yard, not only in the rubble.
She also auto orient herself on the right side of the ladder in case you latched on to one while jumping mid air or jumping to a hanging ladders. And that animation is pretty smooth too.đđđ
I really liked that as well. It also prevents you from accidentally trying to climb one from the wrong side when the bottom part is free hanging.

Seeing how her hairpiece doubles as her sword, that might be a little difficult to implement. But I agree. Some available hairstyles dont really work with the ponytail. Hiding it alltogether wouldve been nice. I'd also love more proper blonde haircolor options. I have a soft spot for Asian girls with blonde hair.đ
@@Svoorhout85 they can also implement different kinds of sword skins on her. so different kind of headpiece i suppose.... i was expecting that low key, each out fit different sword type or re texture. only her using a different sword in the game compared to raven and tachy. BUT beggars cant be choosers đ . who knows we might get some sword skins on updates

I agree that its dissapointing that the censorship happened. But its not as bad as people make it out to be. There are still some SPICY outfits. I like to think they just censored a few to satisfy some busybody manager at Sony.

I mean her two swimsuits are sexy asf but my favourite is the Raven Suit and Racers High Outfits
Black Full Dress is the best imo but thankfully everyone can enjoy EVE how they want to since its purely cosmetic which is a big W for the game imo.

Has anyone posted about the gold you get from attacking all camp stores? Not the supply camps but the regular camps? Also there is a goddess statue in eidos 7 that gives gold as well

Discovered secret Anakin Skywalker reference. Her retribution vs eidos 7 corruptor boss is special. It's her only left handed finisher. Her reset animation to dominant hand is clearly inspired by the infamous jedi.
I liked the submarine sonar noise when scanning underwater, a very nice touch. I also laughed when I got canned fish when fishing đ€Ł
Though you'd most likely know I prefer the bulletin boards in matrix 11 with the old adverts for Eve's old design. I liked the added touch of some nano suits not having high heel support but due to the tech it actually supports the heel, I also liked how the sword is actually her hair support you see that when she puts it away it transforms it also acts as the grappling tool when going up rope. A some what annoying detail is that using the scanner temporary disables the use of the gun.
I would like to add 2 things to this list.
1. The cirlce burst skill (forgot the name) is basically an almost exact copy of the judgement cut from DMC.
2. On story mode the game sometimes gives input quick time events hints during fights (especially bosses) to help you right? I found out you "can't" fail those and still do other moves. For example, if it prompts you to block with L1 and the timer ring is almost empty the game still let's you do a perfect dodge with circle and visa versa. (The game lets you perfect parry if the incoming attack is blockable)

so many amazing outfits in this game but it's hard to go backward from the skin suit. I was actually surprised it wasn't a ng+ unlock. I suspect I know why they didn't do that.
I prefer to think of it in terms of the model directs focus toward the virtual camera if both are in a stationary position for a sufficient interval.
But, it does do well to show that "stance theory," (while not comprehensive) was a strong and useful heuristic.
In my circumstance, I had to break to try to figure out an audio dropout problem with the HDMI connection,
and left the virtual cam in a neutral profile position.
When I got back to picking up again, I got a cool surprise.
A little routine had been written in.
But unlike 2B, (with the getting-in-a-huff routine if I need a low angle to best see a forward climbing direction),
the Eve model routine was done in a way where the look and expression take on a "camera friendly" sense of attitude.
My thinking has a tendency to be overly photographic,
(it hard to say whether its a consequence of being a photographer, or vice versa),
but I was surprised that anyone still knew what that sort of expression looks like.

Stellar Blade is more heavily influenced on Neir Automata with a little bit of Alita Battle Angel on the mix.

But there are a lot of game where the character with stare at you if face the camera toward them. It is not a new thing. So is hair moving to the wind and fishing junk, they are in other games too.
But the other games are most ugly characters so
I believe that Lily's usual outfit is inspired by Major Kusanagi's current design. Close resemblance with her tomboy hairstyle.
The beginning of the game is a huge reference to my favorite movie: Expelled from Paradise/rakuen tsuihou, watch it is great
cool, one of the few videos that tells you something you don't already know about the game from playing it for more than 10 hours
These are just the small things that should be part of a well-engineered and cool game. And Stellar Blade is just that. đ„°đ
I like how they mixed various styles and made it work. We start with classic soulslike dungeon exploration, fighting from bonfire to bonfire. Then it opens up into a large area to explore with map navigation and a quest log. Then theres a 3rd person shooter section with scanning disabled, allowing enemies to ambush you. Back to a soulslike dungeon. Back to another big map. Another shooting bit that amps up the shooting action because youre expected to have upgrades by now. Then some combat heavy levels full of environmental hazards. To a fullblown Vergil fight thats hard as nails.
Iâm glad they decided to go with a slightly more realistic look for her face. They leaned a bit too much into the plastic look in her first version, which makes sense in some ways because of spoiler reasons, but also making her face look more real fits the story as well and perhaps even better.

It constantly bothers me that Eveâs walking animation doesnât line up perfectly with her actual movement speed. Itâs like sheâs sliding as she walks. Hope they patch it.

Once I figured out you have to press the R2 button just right to hold it at the sweet spot it became much easier for me. Before that I was tappung it to wiggle it over the sweet spot like an idiot.
Im really good at mashing a button with my index finger though. Its all in the forearm!
