    I just want to say THANK YOU so much because I’ve tried for weeks to get my four month old on my back using other videos with zero luck. The way you wrapped baby to begin with and then put on your back was the trick for me. I don’t have a huge range of motion with my arms and the way you showed was the only way I could get a good seat. Thank you thank you.

      you can backcarry from birth if you're using a woven wrap. but it can be hard to handle such a tiny baby & get enough head/neck support. it gets easier around 4 months, when they usually have more head control but don't move too much around when handling them :)

      @martinatschumi7251 Před 5 lety

      Ayu Astriliyanti most women have a base wrap size of 6, unless they are very very slim, then it is a five. You would need this for the front wrap cross carry and the double hammock and such. This back carry here needs a shorter wrap, a base -2 if I am not mistaken, so a size 3 or (more often) 4. the wrap size depends on the kind of carry you do. There is much more Info at the wrap sellers (like Didymos or Oscha), you can check their size charts even if you buy one second hand. There are lots of groups that will help you decide which one to bux if you are still unsure, like geeky wrappers on facebook and such.

      But yes, so many parts of Africa, Asia, and Latin countries have a long history of baby wearing! It's awesome! North America indugenous, too.
      I don't know Europe's pre-crib history with carrying. I can see how modern industry would've eliminated some needs to carry, and/or opened the opportunity for more situated dwelling. But Europe is huge, with a long history of humans and nomads, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn of a history!

    I know this post is a few years old, but please, for safety reasons, inform the viewers that a newborn should never be carried on the back. A baby needs to be about 4 months old AND have excellent control of their neck muscles to be carried on the back. Any younger, or a lack of neck muscle control is DANGEROUS for the infant!
    Baby wearing is amazing, but it has to be done responsibly and safely to avoid tragedy.
    Love your infants by keeping them safe. Thanks for reading.

      Do you have any research or sources for this? I am a certified babywearing educator and am not aware of this, so I would love to learn more about it.

      @@Wrapyouinlove can find them for you, but I don't believe for a moment that you are "certified". First, newborns are well known to stop breathing. If you cannot see and feel your infant with your hands, how would you even know? Seriously?
      Secondly, a newborn does NOT have control of their neck, so if that wrap loosens, they can be severely injured or even die.
      Third, if that wrap slips over their face, they can suffocate! How would a back wearing mother know since she doesn't have eyes over her head,
      The neck muscles are not strong enough so if the infant cannot turn his/her head while wrapped...
      Common sense says that you are not being honest! I wore my babies, 6 of them, plus grandchildrenas well, so I also have experience.
      But I will find those resources for you and post them in my next reply!

      @@WrapyouinloveForgive my matter-of-factness. This is dangerous and I don't want any babies to face serious injury or die. I do not know what "certification" you claim to have, but if you were certified, you would already know these things. What you are teaching, without proper safety instruction can be deadly and I'm not about to fool around with innocent lives. So please, add the proper safety information and inform your viewers to never wear a young baby on their back. If you don't, and tragedy happens, and that mother contacts you, I doubt you would have an easy time getting over guilt feelings you would surely encounter. This is about safety and innocent babies. It is not about hurting you or your channel. Please, give these mothers SAFE information. Thanks for reading.

      @@scatteredgrapes8007 thank you for sharing your concerns. I'm still curious to learn what you're basing it on. Are you a babywearing educator? or did you read this somewhere ?
      I've studied with many international babywearing schools, including Clauwi, Trageschule Hamburg, Slingababy and CBWS and have learned about safety, but haven't heard this before.

      @Wrapyouinlove I've already given you the links. I don't care where you've claimed to study. If, in fact, you have "studied," you would know these things. Anyone can listen to wives' tales and learn bad habits from uneducated people. By spreading this method for small infant back carry, you are endangering vulnerable infants who rely on their caregivers. What your teaching is dangerous and can, and has, been deadly. Look it up. I'm not going to argue with you.
      *Edit* my purpose is not to argue with you. I don't want you to mistake the issues I brought up or my frank words as rudeness. Babies have already died, all over the world because of uneducated baby wearing. When I say uneducated baby wearing, I'm specifically talking about the safety warnings that all baby-wear carrying caregivers must know. Thanks.

    Which size wrap do you use on newborns?

    • @Wrapyouinlove
      @Wrapyouinlove  Před 5 lety

      Depends on the carry you'd like to do & your body shape + size of the child. My base size is size 6. This is the size I use for a FWCC (front wrap cross carry) . But for this carry (rucksack) I can use a size 4 too. (if I tie a knot in the front)

      Na ja ich würde die Stoffbahnen nicht unter dem Po des Kindes nicht ineinander winden. Das habe ich versucht und meiner Kleinen hat das immer am Po gedrückt. Ich finde die Variante besser die Stoffbahnen jeweils über dem einen und unter dem anderen Bein hindurch zu führen. Das gibt noch einmal mehr Sicherheit und die Stoffbahnen können glatt am Körper des Kindes liegen. Zudem kann man bei dieser Wickeltechnik die wie ein V am Po des Kindes zusammenlaufenden Bahnen noch etwas über Po und Rücken auffächern. Das lässt das Kind besser wie in einem Nest hocken. Finde ich zumindest.
