Thorough Cleanup/Rust Removal Of An Antique Italian Vetterli 1870/87 Rifle From RTI!

  • Got this rifle from RTI for under $200 about two months ago and I finally got around to cleaning it up and de-rusting it. I would not recommend this video as your go to for the proper disassembly and reassembly process as I’m still kind of figuring out the proper way to do this. However, once I do get the hang of it, I intend to do a proper video on the disassembly/reassembly of this rifle.

    I appreciate the Effort you put into restoring this nice rifle I wondered why you left the dense And dig's Is for posterity You could have used a linen , baby diaper teaspoon of water And a steam iron That would have caused the wood to swell and your dent would disappear ❤ Keep up the cool videos

      You know the barrel bands are threaded right? Loosen the captive screw at the bottom… and bands will just fall off… rather than prying and gouging and scratching up your stock. …….

      @@matthewjames4334 I tried loosening them as much as I could, but I think that maybe some threads are stripped out because, one of them wasn’t loosening no matter how much I turned it, I’ve learned how to stretch them a bit with a screwdriver and that seems to help.
