The settings aren't user-interactable. Every time the "part" is called to function, a dice roll occurs under the hood to determine the setting that will be used.
There are modifiers though, like having pressure from below (due to belted trousers for instance) increase split-stream likelyhood and decrease control opportunity.

It may be different for others, but I generally do not need to pee if I have that debuff and otherwise have very little problems with it.
@@BasicallyBaconSandvichIVEh, you don't even need the time. It's pretty much only got 3 settings, so as long as you practice it's actually easier to control than the flaccid mode. It does have the highest chance for off target fire though, so you do need some practise at doing aim assist.

Yes the pee in the morning thing is indeed true, but you also have to throw in a potential 37 degree angle off to either side of where your aiming. And you will never know whether or not if it will happen.

So, for anyone interested in 'why there is a dice roll for urine on wakeup':
Differing sleeping ocnditions can result in compressions, irritations, or other alterations to the tube, pump, and valves that result in different effects. Muscular stiffness in the control sections, just laying weird and having body weight press into the bladder weird, even various kinds of minor, externally unnoticeable discharge that doesn't leave the tube (not just S, but also P and other non S chemicals that are related) can cause minor irritations that create absolutely TINY bits of swelling that can cause weirdness on exit. Think less like the exit point effecting spray (although that can happen too) and more like a garden house without a sprayer on it being kinked, gripped too hard at varying points, or just with a thumb partly in the way at the end of it.Trying to go while excited in general is borderline uncontrollable for most guys, and god help you if you cough or sneeze mid whizz.

I hate when the piss just goes a completely different direction of where I'm pointing it. Like instead of going straight into the toilet the stream goes straight down onto my pants or directly to the right and coating the wall.

Most of the types in the hose images happen at the start of peeing and will even out so to speak. The Soaker in that image since you questioned it specifically happens at the trail end where there is no longer enough pressure left to maintain a constant stream.
The image does however miss two options. The Double Jet(typically caused by a minor obstruction that you otherwise wouldn't notice was there like a hair) and Offset By A Random Angle(typically occurs at the start or if you're holding things slightly wrong).

Peeing is verboten by the body by default when you're hard, you have to actively manipulate the bits using your mental power and body control to let it flow. It's a combination of relaxing AND consciously moving some muscles.
That's where the randomization and 'settings' come in, as well as any potential pain...and that pain feels like someone is running fingernails through the entire tube.
But if you do it well, then it's no big deal.
The same bits involved also have an effect of 'endurance' during ...the deeds, but it's reversed. If you manage to ignore the pleasure sensation and stay 'relaxed' (which would mean allowing pee to pass usually) then you last longer.
If you try to 'turn the valve off', which can happen if you get too overwhelmed by the sensations, then that actually INCREASES the perceived intensity of it and its more difficulty to ...resist.

If you use the right muscles (some of the same pelvic muscles that kigal exercises work) it turns on turbo mode but only for a second or two before you have to turn it off and back on again.
