Gonna keep this video unlisted now. While I am proud of the video and don't want to completely remove it from existence, I'm getting really tired of all the people saying things like "The Special Edition is pointless!" "Xenoblade fans are the issue not Nintendo!" and "Stop complaining!"
This video is just a meme to try and make some people in my situation laugh but it ended up being taken really seriously. For real, the internet can be really annoying sometimes.
I got the special edition, I'm happy, and that's all that matters to me at the end of the day. Let's all just enjoy video games, whether it's Xenoblade or not. There's enough negativity in the world, so it's just not worth it.
I'd honestly be fine with them doing this with X, soley because that would mean that they're re-releasing X.

@@dakotasan8719 I think you mean a PC port, as a Switch port would only be a downgrade without the second screen, at least the PC would have better graphics and framerate to compensate for that.

Unfortunately I missed out on it since I was at work from 9 AM to 6 PM. Ah well, sole thing I really wanted was the artbook but eh, no big deal. I saw one Twitter user comment, which I think should be the mentality going forward: “Preorders should be an indicator of how much stock/product to produce, not a race for a limited amount of stock.”

@@StarBittenWolf I think they will, they provided more stock for Xenoblade: DE Special Edition a few years ago. Perhaps the second time will afford more opportunities for those who were unable to get the first time, and the website won’t be so badly stressed.

Same here. And if XC1 and XC2 are anything to go by, we'll just get a fuller (albeit Japanese exclusive) artbook in a few years time anyways.

RIP to everyone that was unable to get it. It really sucks that it was only available for like a few hours, it really should've been available for at least a few days, but at least a lot of the people that were trying to get it while it was in stock were able to (myself included :D)

In case you're wondering, a Xenoblade X video is in progress, but I just wanted to quickly work on this video after getting the Special Edition.
I was sadly one of the people who didn't get it and I was honest to Arceus blue balled at checkout. I hit purchase after waiting till around 7 only to be hit with "Item may be out of stock". Least some people instead of scalpers got it, but I still feel like crap despite this knowledge personally.
Also, very accurate video, but I want to hope they don't do this crap again on their own store.
Due to bad timing from me I was left without internet for most of the day and once I finally got back it was already sold out
Words can not express how upset I am, this series means so much to me and I want to get this so bad but I can't because of Nintendo's awful planning and lack of stock.
My Nintendo Store doesn't ship to México so I had no chance of getting the special edition at all :(((

It makes me really annoyed it wasn't done through retailers like 1 and 2 were. It's going to feel wrong looking at my games collection and not seeing the Special Edition for 3.

Surely they will have amiibos. Like literally every single playable character in Smash has one. The last one that was announced as coming was the Steve Amiibo if I remember correctly. So we still haven't heard anything about Sephiroth, Ageis girls, Kazuya or Sora yet.

My girlfriend had it IN her cart and was trying to finalize the purchase for hours but it wouldnt let her, the site was just refusing to work on pc or mobile devices for her. She ended up not being able to order. Just a frustrating, horrible experience. She couldnt get it bc the site just refused to work. Really frustrated with nintendo

"The story never truly ends" is true when Nintendo messes up like this! I remember that this happened quite a lot when the Wii U was a thing, but I remember hearing about stuff like this in the Wii era and even the GameCube era of games! 😅🙄

Nintendo does it on purpose to create a false sense of urgency and increase demand for things. Its hard to say how they profit from keeping supplies so much lower than they need to but theyve done it for years and years, sometimes I wonder if Nintendo employees scalp themselves. Or maybe their people get bonuses when things get "sold out". Really hard to say but somethings always been off with their supply chains.

Got through the waiting room, clicked prepurchase, my cart showed that it had something in it, but then when I went to my cart it was empty. Tried to go back to add it to my cart again, kept getting the same result. Eventually got dumped into the queue again, and when the page finally loaded, it was sold out T_T

I purchased it on my phone and was brought to this screen that looked like a buffer screen for about 3 hours. I closed it but than it gave me an error screen. I should have just waited. 😭

I wasn't able to get one on the 30th and tried all day long. Super bummed out. Hope I can at least get the artbook for less than $100 since I have every other Xeno art book (except Perfect Works, which is on its way).
The only thing that was left from this video was when they decided to announce the Cuphead DLC instead of the preorders going live without warning when everyone expected it to be around 11am

I wasn’t able to get my copy unfortunately.. On the 8th I waited for over 18 hours unable to get it, basically forced myself to wake up at like 3am in case pre-orders started super early. And on the 30th, I waited again for over 6 hours “in line” on the “we have a lot of visitors” or whatever page just to get a notification from Reddit saying that the pre-orders were closed. Sure enough, I refresh the page and the listing was gone. Over 24 hours of my life gone. I’m beyond pissed, but I’m happy for the people who actually managed to get it. I lose faith in Nintendo as a company every single day.

In germany your are just able to pre purchase the special edition on launch. No way to get a physical copy and the goodies in one bundle.

why do i have the feeling i am gonna have to wait until somebody uploads the ammibo data on that one thread again before i can actually use them if they have any use in xc 3 at all? Welp the data will be availebel at some point anyway so if i sadly cant get them i can always make my own custom card whit the data at least tho it is not the same as having the amiibo itself.

Maybe it's just me, but I was there the whole day both times and could not get one. Nintendo can't seem to process any of my cards and it won't take my friends' cards either even though those work on their accounts

Man, it really is stupid that they made it retailer exclusive to their own store, the should have done the same as they have in the past and made it available from other retailers, like Best Buy, Walmart, The Source, EB Games, Future sho- oh wait, that last one doesn't exist any more. But still, it's really stupid that you're locked into a single option for this sort of thing, especially when the My Nintendo Store architecture seems to be in need of a massive upgrade.
Definitely agree but I believe the reason they did it like this was because of the staggered release. They wanted to move Xenoblade 3's release date up (most likely because of Splatoon 3's "delay") but knew they weren't going to have the Special Edition goods ready for July, so they decided to just sell the game themselves to have the game shipped on launch day while the special edition stuff comes in September (probably around when it was supposed to come out initially).
Or ya know update their website to accommodate.(it’s long over do for one)
And i think thats another issue, because there is no issue on the Japanese site. They figure, oh this will work for NoA and NoE when they havent put the work in the site, and they are, at least in my eyes, draw ppl away from other stores. Take for example i was getting the Minmin Amiibo, and they did Allow or tell other stores until the day of release they could sell it/have stock; yet it was announced and on Nintendo site for the longest

As someone who played Xenogears multiple times & completely loves it (GOD I wish they'd remaster/remake it) Do y'all think its worth getting into the xenoblade games??
Xenoblade 1 has a passable but overall pretty stereotypical shounen story with lots of cool/emotional moments with excellent voice acting, the battle system is alright but quite limited compared to 2.
2's story has its ups and downs and the same can be said for the game's voice acting, at least in English, but the battle system is very satisfying to get good at and overall better than 1's. You also have to use a shitty gacha mechanic to unlock characters, but no real money can be spent. The game also has a much more 'anime' style than 1 with its characters, you'll be hard-pressed to find a single female Blade character that isn't scantily-clad. Could be a strength or weakness depending on your tastes I suppose.
I'd say give them a shot.

I got lucky and managed to purchase my
copy of the special edition with relative ease (20-30 minutes). However. Getting my friend's copy (she didn't have the funds) was a four hour fucking slog of being taunted by those jumping icons. I managed. But dear lord let them learn their lesson for next time please.
Trivia: For some reason in canada the special edition was 40$ more than base game
This is why Nintendo should not use the My Nintendo store for literally everything... Scalpers got most of them and are selling them on Amazon for the price of a Steam Deck.

Well i pretty much gave up. But main reason is that limited edition will not even come with stuff on lunch date (wich is bullshit anyway), so i just went and ordered normal version.
I will just pirate the book art after, because fuck that limited edition (and i dont realy care for a metal box).

You know you don't have to photoshop text onto a tweet for your thumbnail. You can open any nintendo tweet, right click the text, go to "Inspect Element" and a window will pop up. ctrl-f the tweet text and then double click it, you can then change the text and hit "enter" and you will have a perfect tweet to take a picture of for your thumbnail.
That’s what I did but the text was too small from a distance so I enlarged it for better readability. If you look at the tweets from 1:47 onwards, those all use inspect element combined with some photo editing for the images.

I was lucky enough to get mine the 2nd time around. Actually it was the same one i was able to put into my cart from the first round of preorders but i never got to finish the purchase. Shame on Nintendo for doing legitimately nothing to fix this and making us go though it a second time. And i hope everyone has another change to get one without resorting to the scumbag scalpers.
