    I believe your trike(my preference) would be better or more stable if you would put negative caster into the front wheel.

  • @ohiohunter4490
    @ohiohunter4490 Před 6 lety

    i noticed you was talking about the trike turtling i was thinking maybe adding a wheelie bar of some sort to the frame and i also noticed that in the video when you land with the trike you are pulling up on the front as in a plain. So the addition of some sort of wheelie bar on the back of the frame i would think would help eliminate the turtling of the trike

    I'd like to see independant shockies on the wheels and the option for a small ballistic chute above and behind the pilots seat being a blast plate of course. Does using the reserve make the unit desend in a 'sideways' position? Also has anyone made an electric paramotor?

    • @blackhawkparamotor
      @blackhawkparamotor  Před 6 lety +1

      Great comment and questions!... In this sport, weight is a BIG concern as well as price for most PPG Pilots. In order to not have a Pilot License required in this sport, the Paramotors have to be under a certain weight (FAR Part 103). We also try our best to keep things as affordable as possible so anyone can fly if they want =) - (Weight isn't as much of an issue with Quads, but every bit counts). Depending on how the reserve deploys, there is a chance that it can come down in a more "sideways" position - especially if the main glider isn't disabled in an emergency. I've never flown with someone who has a ballistic reserve, but I'm sure someone has. The reserves are so rarely used. It's like the airbag in a car... You will most likely never use it, but it can save your life in an emergency situation. We had the BlackHawk "AMP" Electric Paramotor, but the battery Manufacturer hiked the price up to almost double - right after we developed it! Quite frustrating. It only provided about a 45 minute flight time and was more expensive than our complete Quad units. As technology gets cheaper and better, I'm sure we will have another go at the E-Paramotor. Hope that helps answer questions. If you have any more, we're always here to help =)

    I fly everything from LSA`s to RC everything and PPGs are the next thing I just gotta try. Really like the quad design. Im young and fit but like the idea and doing touch n goes where it is safe to do so and I like the idea of taking passengers. I`m in Australia so this is allowed as we dont have Part 103 - Whats the additional equipment needed to take a passenger and what is the weight limit please ? Obviously this will depend on the engine option so what would you recommenced for me at 90 Kgs please ? Can you please link your Australian importer ? Great video Btw...

      Scott Martin Thanks for the comment Scott! We have a motor called the BlackHawk AirMax 220 and it's the only "crossover motor" out there in its class. The AirMax is light enough to wear as a backpack unit (foot-launch) and it's powerful enough to handle the LowBoy II Paramotor Quad. We didn't want customers to have to purchase two machines if they wanted to enjoy both forms of Powered Paragliding. We came out with the AirMax about a year ago and it's been one of our top sellers. Hello BlackHawk,
    I’m definitely going with a Quad. The thing which engine I’m going with. I like the Air Max, Hell Cat and the big one. The Air Max is the last of Foot launching PPG than can go Quad. you guys make it very hard to make a good decision. I need more advice to make a good decision. Do you still need good Kiting skills for a Quad? Is there instructions for Kiting as well? Can you guys do a Kiting video for the folks considering and interested in Kiting as well. I’m not trying to learn how to kite. I would to see how it’s done. No trade secrets have to be given away. Ground School video would be nice, keep your trade secrets, just wet our lips. Thank you!

    I have a question relating to the quad and foot launch.
    I understand that maybe an older or out of shape or disabled individual would always want to use the quad. But what about a person that falls in between? I am a newbe and this may be a dumb question but here goes.....
    I could see times where I might want to use the quad and other times I might want to foot launch. Is the equipment attached to the quad (wing and motor) interchangeable?
    Can I take them off of the quad put them on a foot launch harness and use them? Or would the wing size need to be changed due to the loss of the weight of the quad? Is the engine used on the quad to big to be used as a foot launch motor?
    In other words do I need two completely separate rigs to fly each way? One quad set up and one foot launch set up?

      This is an excellent question, do you need two different set ups if you want to have the option of foot lift and quad?

    • @blackhawkparamotor
      @blackhawkparamotor  Před 6 lety

      Hi Adeo! Thanks for checking out our channel and a warm welcome to the sport of Powered Paragliding =)
      BlackHawk Paramotors USA has the most inclusive lineup of motor choices in the sport. We basically have "something for everyone" to help as many people as we can to realize their dream of flight. We have several units that can be used as a crossover machine (meaning you can use it for BOTH Foot-Launch or Quad / Trike flight - without having to purchase two motors or gliders). We even have gliders that can be used for BOTH motorized flight and free-flight (paragliding). You could realistically enjoy 3 different types of flight with the same gear. You would just need a different harness instead of a different motor or glider.
      Many Pilots will start out as Foot-Launch Pilots and once the thrill of that goes away, they want "comfort" and switch to a seat with wheels. It's also a lot easier to takeoff with wheels, but it all comes down to the personal preference of the Pilot.
      The choices available will depend on your weight and the elevation where you are launching from. Our AirMax 220 is the most popular crossover motor. It can be used with a Quad, Trike, or Foot-Launch. That motor can handle over a 300 lb payload! Below is a link to our "Package Deals" page on the website... You will find a couple of "Motor Comparison Charts" towards the bottom of the page where you can compare Pilot weight ranges, or Trike & Quad compatibility. After you check that out, give us a call! We can answer any additional questions you have, put together a customized price quote, and get you in contact with the closest Training Center so you can see one in person =)

    Does the quad handle much cross wind take-off & landing?

    • @blackhawkparamotor
      @blackhawkparamotor  Před 5 lety +1

      Absolutely (within reason of course)... Quads have much more lateral-stability than Trikes. Similar to 3-wheeler ATV's compared to 4-wheel ATV's. The front wheels also will turn to ensure the Quad remains under the glider if it goes off to the side. The Quad is very low to the ground with a relatively wide base for maximum stability. It would take quite a bit of wind or Pilot error to flip a Quad over. It's very very rare for that to happen. I hope this helps and feel free to contact our office anytime if you have questions about the sport. We're here to help =)

      Absolutely! In fact, one of our top-selling motors is our AirMax 220 because it's a "crossover machine." Its power-to-weight ratio allows it to be light enough for foot-launch application, and powerful enough for Quad application. Tehila Havaiia Awesome! Your family is so amazing! I love your music, unity, mission, and willingness to share. You are truly an inspiration to those whose lives you touch. I've spent quite a bit of time on your site and CZcams channel. When things slow down for me, I would like to get to know more about what you guys are doing. I saved your phone number, so just keep checking in with me. I've emailed with Cole, so he should have my contact info. Take care and keep the suggestions coming! - Rob Whittaker, Marketing Director - BlackHawk Paramotors USA.

    WHAT ABOUT ELECTRIC POWER MOTOR?

    • @blackhawkparamotor
      @blackhawkparamotor  Před 5 lety

      We produced the all-electric BlackHawk AMP a while back, however, the demand for those motors (with such limited flight time) and the price just aren't where we need them yet. We are working with other battery Manufacturers at the moment to get a lighter, longer-lasting, and more affordable version so people can enjoy it. Our entire facility is off-grid so we are all about GREEN & CLEAN machines =)
      Keep checking back with us and we may have something really amazing out soon!

    Can a 160 lbs guy fly a quad that's designed for a 300 lbs guy ?

    • @blackhawkparamotor
      @blackhawkparamotor  Před 6 lety +1

      Of course! The Quad is just the platform with wheels... You could actually use a smaller motor (less expensive), and with the correct size glider, you can enjoy Quad or Trike flight. We have countless Pilots who weigh the same as you (or less) flying our Quads & Trikes =)
      Thanks for the comments and for connecting with us. When you have some free time, give our office a call so we can answer any questions you have about this life-changing sport.

    i cant take this review seriously since its inherently biased. need to hear it from a non-sponsored 3rd party.

    • @blackhawkparamotor
      @blackhawkparamotor  Před 8 lety

      YES! And in this sport, you should. It's so hard to get a straight answer from Dealers in this sport. Everyone spends most of their time bashing the competition. The BEST way to get non-biased info is to join a group on Facebook called the "Paramotor Group." There are thousands of members there and it's a great place to ask questions. BE CAREFUL because there are a LOT of Dealers and Manufacturers that will still give you biased info. If someone tells you something, qualify them before you believe it. That group will give you access to thousands of Pilots, all over the world, that fly every type of PPG gear there is. Hope that helped!
