Good thing he didn't let off the gas! But he made it, great experience. Good job Luke, I think most of us have forgot to buckle at least once.
Good one, Unc!
Man, that thing looks and sounds sweet. Not bad for a 2nd. More power-taxi me thinks. Kudos!
What type of airfoil is it and does it play any part in oscillation?
I'm thinking of getting the frame you use with the moster plus
Yes, looking at them.
I want to mention that I still liked the video, it points out what not to do. In any kind of flying, there are no second chances when things go wrong.
Cool man, we all just make and watch these videos to learn. Glad you're able to see Luke's experience and learn something from it. Thanks for watching!
@@MarcAmenson Yes Marc, I have a few learning experiences myself. And yes, I have had students get a few safety items past me. Praise God none of them were fatal.
How much weight can that setup lift ??
Nice 2nd flight! I fly a quad as well but mines a PPC single seat.
Does anyone out there have experience with this machine the way it is configured as well as the ECO2 running the RMZ500? I'm looking for tandem capability starting from a base altitude of 7000'. Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Location for training ? City ? Cost of training pre hour ?
Hello, I'm considering buying the Aero 1000 and I noticed the CG bars have different holes, so how do you know which one is the proper hole for your set up? not in flight correct?
LiGhT SPiRiT you do a hang test prior to flying.

I'm forced to sell my Blackhawk Aero 1000 package with upgraded aluminum 4.6 gallon gas tank, 3 carbon blade prop and quad front. Bought it from Mike Robinson of Blackhawk Powermotors last summer. I only have 13 flights on it because the weather here in Central NY is not the most dependable, and then covid hit....so I'm forced to sell it at a great loss. I also bought a GIN Condor TANDEM WING-serious upgrade for $4200...I'm selling the quad for only $12000 and the Wing for $3000 although it pains me to do so!
Did you sell it yet
Seemed a little nose heavy on take off too
Saw the oscillation on landing also. Is this a characteristic of the wing?
No, just new pilot getting his technique dialed in.
Why can I not find the BlackHawk LowBoy 3 in quad form? I only see it as a trike. Were the front axles an extra accessory? I like the way it looks, I'm looking for a place in Wisconsin to get into training and flying paramotors, any suggestions?
Yeah, me. I'm near Green Bay. I can get you a quote on a quad.

You know what ? You NEVER start these things without the throttle/KILL switch In Your Hand, especially with the 'A' assists connected. If for any reason the throttle were to go to FULL throttle and it has happened, that paramotor is gone and it will climb til it runs out of gas then it will descend until it crashes into the trees ! FIRST RULE of paramotoring !!
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf lately =)
@Darwin Skylar Yea, I've been using instaflixxer for since december myself :D
There are a couple of comments here about things that were missed. As a fixed wing pilot, I'm accustomed to the use of pre-flight checklists. It's surprising to me that no one in the PPG community uses them. Too cool for such things? Also -- why is a student on his second flight not being checked by his instructor? If the student misses the seat belt, that's one thing. But how did an instructor miss it as well? Not a good sign. No helmet, no radio? So if a student has an issue in flight on his second flight, he's 100% on his own... Not ideal.
Sometimes in this "Sport", you don't actually get what you're paying for . Like Training !! AND, some of the instructors shouldn't be !!
I am 6'5", 195 pounds I am trying to gauge if I would fit in this unit and not look like the Gofer from Caddy Shack , if its cool to ask, I respectfully ask,how tall is Uncle Luke? i have my eye on this unit now that its available and one other with a full cage (a heavier unit that will require me to also purchase a covered trailer ) , the videos are super helpful ,please keep up the series . and a big thanks man , i have been a fan for over a year !
Scott Thompson hi Scott, Luke is 6’3” I’m super glad these are helpful, thanks for stopping by and checking out my videos.
I want one. How much
The quads are going to bring a lot more people to the sport, especially older guys that want to fly but may be out of shape, overweight or just lazy, lol. That machine looks rather big though, even for a quad.
That’s the game plan, so many guys want to fly but can’t foot launch and don’t want to get into power parachuting because of the license. The Lowboy 3 is a bit larger, but the build quality and stability make it the best quad/trike available by far. Pair that with the 250cc 4 stroke engine and you have a flying machine that will last you for years.

Thanks for the info. It's definitely impressive and looks great. Worth a look for sure. Thank you.
What wing do you fly?
trialnterror He’s on 42m Velocity Core
Cool. Whats the weight of the whole unit?
I want to say like 225lbs... I'd have to check, I can't recall offhand.
At 10:00, 'IF' I had never done that I MIGHT have something to say about it! I didn't realize my mistake until I landed and reached down to 'Unbuckle' my belt !! Preflight, preflight, preflight !
Just saw a video on how important a pre check is, but good to know you won’t fall out if you forget too buckle up 👍🏻✌️
The fuck you won't. You hit a big enough bump and it will toss you out like a piece of trash.
That 4 -stroke engine sounds Good, is it a 250 CC Engine???
randy beard yes, it’s a 250cc four stroke. 35hp and 268 lbs or thrust.
I love my Quad.... It's almost impossible to tip that baby over!
He probably should have secured the lock collars on both carabiner gates. I heard him screw the left one tight, however at about 3:17 into the video he connects the main riser on the right, but did not lock the collar. It will be interesting to see what else he forgot as the video continues. Yes, seat belts are important too. Where was the instructor again?
Holy shit! He wasn't buckled in?! Holy fuck! That's not a minor oversight!
So, 268 pounds of thrust. Is that with an upgraded prop?
toniintc I’d have to confirm this, but I believe that is with the three blade prop and there is also a four blade prop upgrade available. Let me check with Mike Robinson and I will get back to you.
I'm asking because I'm ordering the exact same package next week (these videos definitely contributed to my decision, thank you). The website says 240 pounds of thrust, I would think that would be the stock prop. I'd be interested in cost for the upgraded prop. I had a phone conversation with Mike last week, I didn't think to ask about it.
This is one video that should have hit the CUTTING ROOM floor...the entire video. HAHAHAHAHHA
Hi sir how are you how much does it cost
15-20 grand. There’s a few factors that make the price higher or lower.
Holy shit.. He didn't buckle in..
Scott Ledford goes to show the importance of pre flights. I checked his biners and wing and walked away. Both of us missed it. I did the same thing on my first quad flight. Seems impossible til it isn’t.
8:40 typical RYANAIR landing buTtEr
Just a little bit of a suggestion. 1) Use all your runway. 2) Don't just "grab and go". Pull some throttle, get that wing up, back off the throttle, stabilize the wing, add power. 3) Get a mirror. 4) I too think the center of gravity is off...looks kind of nose heavy to me. 5) Use a helmet. I've been flying ultralight since 1980, have a friend that had a minor accident with a Quicksilver. He hit his head on the engine. Now he can smell and he has a hard time making very simple decisions. Anyway, I love that machine. Where is that made...in Switzerland, Germany? Thanks.
I completely forgot to buckle up flying my Blackhawk Quad last Friday night. At about 800 feet I realized I was sitting on the seatbelt. No big deal, but yeah, probably should double check that before launching from here on.
Still waiting for someone to fly nude on them but no fat people please if it happens I have to sleep at night. Not a good take off for the second try. Too much invested to crash it since it is so new. I quit flying RC planes because I got tired of putting them back together.
A "little bit" of oscillation? Are you kidding me? Is this real life right now? The guy almost rolled it, and that just on the take off. Maybe no one told him about taking off directly into the wind? He was adding full power while the wing was practically doing a wing tip drag to the left side...Should have aborted but at least he got off the ground before breaking any bones. I wonder who trained the pilot...
But anyway, I have to say that the BlackHawk looks really cool, like 'laid back' and all. It makes me wonder why so many reputable dealers talk dookie on them? At first, I was like, "wow. These guys are really rough on Black Hawk. Sheesh." So I thought they were just hating on the guy who had the coolest stuff. But after years of doing this, and getting out there and meeting people who know, and talking to people who know, I find out that It's not the people but rather the DESIGN of the BlackHawk that makes the mistake. Apparently, where the trike clips in to the wing, it leaves little in the way of adjustable length when you are considering your rear brake lines. They are set up low....about shoulder height, which leaves you only about 15 inches of appliable brakes. If they were set in higher, say,20 inches above shoulder heighth, then your brake pull would be an incredible 36 ~ 42" . A huge difference. Especially when you need the extra pull to prevent an accident. So after looking at the designs of all of the available trikes out there, I'm going with the Fresh Breeze X-1, Or the Freh Breeze Pod trike.
And now I see why people ask "Was it another Blackhawk?" when someone dies on a paramotor...
