  • I did not comment like I said I would on amp comparisons.
First off - With the LP i ran a little too much gain. The iPhone always picks that up, but in the room it was glorious
Secondly - as for comparisons. This amp has mids that can be blanketed by other more popular boutique builders in an effort to smooth the Marshall harshness .
Compared to the Slo this is able to be vintage and full on shred without the sizzle that amp has that cannot be dialed out
Compared to the Helios 50 -this amp has a more complex gain structure, like th eSlo but sweeter and stays very Marshall esque without the sizzle factor
Compare to a Small box or BE, it's like the blanket was lifted from the mids. more marshall esque like the Small box Plexi ch but better.

Really reminds me of an SLO30. It just does this thing that I've never heard from another amp. Must be the mids frequency. I agree though... not a fan of too much sizzle.

Thanks, this was only 10 minutes into getting it out of the box. My 2-4 vids are closer to the tone i've settled on. Cheers!

Wait until you get a chance to really explore the clean channel - that's actually my favorite of the 2 which is saying something because (as your demo shows) the dirty channel is incredible.

Messed with the steller cleans last night and loved it. Just need to figure out routine cables to control the chanels with my HX Fx. Likely custom cable for 7 pin to dual TRS ends from BTPS

I have to admit, I've never heard of 3rd power amps but you have my attention now. Curious to see how it does with the SD-1 hitting the front for just that little more that you said you'd like to have. Anyway, great tone and great video as always. Can't wait for your next one.

I had no idea what I was clicking on, given I've never heard of "3rd Power Kitchen Sink", but that sounds amazing.....WOW. This reminds me of the percussiveness of the Helix (I know I refer to that amp a lot)...but, it's SO....PUNCHY. That sounds absolutely spectacular, brother. I'm going to check that company out. P.S. I agree about the "sizzle"...or fizziness. That's a turn-off for me if it can't be dialed out. This is pure, punch in the gut percussive tone. Absolutely incredible. What's the wattage on this one?

Thanks Phil! Yeah I had only heard of these before. Glad you can hear the purcussiveness. It's amazing in the room. Need to figure out a few features on it. Right now i can say it sounds amazing and is the most well thought out amp Iv'e owned.

@@cragginshred Not only does it out "punch" the Helios and SLO, with incredible articulation, but if I'm reading the amp description properly, the clean is based on your choice of VOX....OR Fender??? So, you get one of the best, if not THE best, plexi gains I've ever heard, but your choice of boutique clean channels, as well. You just found the perfect amp, brother. And....it's a 40watt amp, if I read it properly. So, while I'm sure it's loud, it's not 100 watts loud. Great catch, Don! I'm not sure you'll find a better amp, my friend. Thank you for sharing....you're going to get a lot of guys thanking you for a great demo. 👍🤘👍🤘👍🤘!!!

@@phillamoore157 yeah clean is Vox or Fender ... and you can blend the two to get a Blackface/Top Boost mix, for example. It's completely mind-blowing and sounds spectacular. Easily the best clean out there (including vintage Fenders) imho.

@@cabotnunlist2077 Yeah….I’m absolutely sold. I watched a couple of the demo’s, and I’m completely blown away at how stunning they sound. I’m floored that I’ve never heard of them before. Definitely my favorite amp now, by far.
