Until it's someone you know and love, and you know it wasn't a choice for them. Maybe they are paying for the sins of their fathers, but most are born the way they are. Be safe.

Believe me, I use to feel the same way as you, maybe even stronger. Church, social norms and my own heterosexuality drove me to hate gays and their deviant choices. I just could not comprehend homosexuality. I still think some of the flamboyant, over the top crap is a cry for help for what ever real issues they have. But I have also seen people struggle all their life fighting it, because they know it's wrong, their Church tells them it's wrong, their parents will disown them, society will punish them, etc.,etc.. But the fact is it is who they are, it is how they were born. They have those natural feelings for the same sex as we have for the opposite sex. Or they think they are the opposite sex from which they were born. My wife is a teacher, we both have known a student since he was 5. We also knew the family. This boy was a very innocent angelic soul since we met him, and very effeminate. He played with typical girls toys, loves the color pink, was an Angel for Halloween, etc. His family were all straight and some what promiscuous, but they treated him like the rest of the children. It was obvious to everyone that this child was gay, except the child. He finally found happiness in college when he realized he was gay, and came out. This is just one case where it made me realize this kid had no choice. It is still hard for me to accept a lot of this , since it is so different from what I personally know and feel, but I do try to understand it and be more tolerant of it on a case by case basis.

Never meant to suggest you hated them, just that I probably felt even stronger about it. Thanks for having an intelligent , adult conversation with me. I don't pretend to understand it all, or how it will be judged in the final day, just trying to share what changed my perspective. Take care and be safe.
