Medical professionals seeking parameters from courts and judges for guidelines for medical treatment in an emergency . Unconscionable. Please remind me what century we are in.
It's awful.
Pre-19th if we take the Dobbs decision as a landmark.
And we all thought the Taleban were a bunch of men suppressing the rights of the women living in Afghanistan.
@@ronaldking1054 feels pretty antebellum
It's not considered an abortion in the emergency room If it's a life saving procedure. You don't go to an Abortion clinic for an Emergency.
Alito is a seriously flawed individual to the point of being unfit to be a judge.
The last two words of your comment are not needed.
The Supremely Corrupted Court is an embarrassment.
Tell me how someone with NO medical training can override a doctor’s medical opinion!?
Said it once today, I'll say it again: you can't get rid of a medical procedure, you only get rid of the safe ones.
Not safe for the unborn baby
If giving birth risked a man's health these laws restricting abortion would not exist. It is not pro-life but pro-control. Their supporters typically also want gun deregulation.
Naturally occurring spontaneous miscarriages are quite common, incidentally. Abortions are equivalent to those acts of nature.

Just because one goes to church doesn't make them God. Women are adults and should be treated as such. We are not little kids. Women have always known what to do instinctively before religion existed and now, we have science, technology and experts in the field who can assist us. Power to women. ✊🏼

What's really sad is that even female GOP legislators in Idaho voted for the ban.
GOP Women hate their own sisters in this country.
SCOTUS is woefully ill-equipped to handle the major issues of our time. They oversimplify issues that are tremendously complex. And they are far from being experts in medicine. It is mindblowing.
They are So Out of Touch with American Society of the 21st Century! It's awful and shameful and reminds me of the ongoing disintegration of AMTRAK and dejoy's USPS🇺🇸
They're owned.
What point is there to have doctors anymore? Just put all these justices in the emergency room since they are so knowledgeable. Smh 🙄😮💨🤔
I have lost all faith and respect for SCOTUS.
I have lost all faith in the Entire F8cking Federal Government. 100% of it.
Actually all the women, including Amy Comey Barrett, did well with this.
I think there is some chance here that Idaho legislature (no referendum, alas), has gone too far in creating too large and wide an opening for state intrusion and control, even for this SCOTUS.. I lived in Idaho, and know that Idaho conservatives often share a near hatred and fear of government intrusion and control. Listening to this case may ring that bell warning for conservative women, if not their husbands. Please remember that this is not about pregnancies that are going to result in living babies.
(I have had 5 pregnancies, resulting in 4 much loved very fine grown children. )

Too late Coney Barret. This will always be on you.
Have you seen the video clip of the ignorant male Oklahoma legislator asking from the floor what they planned to do to protect babies born from ectopic pregnancies?! 😵💫🤯 I guess they need health class there!! 😱
If men had babies, bodily autonomy would be an absolute right, without question, exception or apology. The idea that anyone would be in a position to put a man's life in jeopardy by denying them a legitimate and required medical procedure, and is making that decision absent any expert medical knowledge and driven by irrational personal beliefs would be shocking. We wouldn't even be entertaining a debate.

No pregnancy is a health neutral event. Some pregnancies will go fine, but all pregnant bodies go through trauma. Women have a basic human right to agency over their health.
Terrible court. Get out of our bodies, it is not your business. Lawyers are in our their heads. look at Trump, insane. This court needs to be managed and we need better justices who are supporting freedom and women.
🎯 Every pregnancy/woman are unique. Almost as if there us a reason for meducal subspecialties like Obdtetrics and Gynecology.
Exactly! How dare they think it’s their right to have a say in women’s medical issues ! It wouldn’t be an issue if men gave birth !
Nothing Pro-life about Supreme Court debating whether States can order Doctor's to let women die rather than provide life saving abortion in a medical emergency. It shouldn't have to be said!
This is exactly what we need. Just like having insurance approve your procedures, now you need a judge and county prosecutor to approve your surgeries. Brilliant!
This is the problem with Pro Life, if you believe it, then it takes the woman to death's doorstep before intervention is allowed.
Even doctors can't codify laws to fit every situation involving pregnancy, so fat chance a bunch of clowns in state legislatures are going to do it without doing harm. It's out of their league and they need to have the sense to know it. Leave it to the people and their doctors!
They just want to punish women for religious reasons, that's what it's always been

When some man can carry a 5 pound bowling ball sitting in his abdomen for nine months, then pass it out of his body from between his legs, then he can weigh in on something related to birth. Until then, they need to sit down and be quiet.
Idaho has said in no uncertain terms that the life of women have absolutely no value. They have said that the Constitution doesn't apply to women, that they have no right to pursue health and happiness. Idaho is Gilead.

Please Justice ⚖️ Sotomayor,,,, stand your ground!!!!
I would think that mandating delayed treatment, allowing a treatable condition to become a life-threatening emergency, is not only bad medicine, but should be legal malpractice on the part of Idaho legislators. Is there no legal equivalent of the Hippocratic oath?
…and the reality is that it is under federal law which can put medical providers and facilities in an extremely precarious situation.
Trump is to blame for this mess. The GOP is going to get hammered in Nov. The majority of Republican women will not vote for Trump because of this single issue.
Imagine if men's reproductive health went thru these sort of hoops of fire. This is all so sickening.

Heck, just look at stats from Alabama and Mississippi.
That these cases keep going back to the SCOTUS is tragic. The monsters who overturned Roe wanted this, and horrors that have come of it will not sway them to sensibility.

SCROTUS needs term limits. Some are as old as the barbaric laws they've enabled states to unleash on pregnant women.
How would term limits have prevented this?
And they also need a code of ethics that has enough teeth that they can be removed when it is clear that they keep ruling unconstitutionally and that they are taking bribes
So RBG being on the bench until she died caused this? Great logic there. Agree there should be term limits for EVERYONE in the Government but my reasons are different than yours.
@@ykrgfk 1) justices more aligned with the will of the citizens.

1) Justices aren’t supposed to be the will of the people that’s called a representative. Justices are there to interpret the law. Acting in the will of the people would be personal bias.
2) Not exactly, we have term limits for presidents and they are more corrupt than Kings.
3) Having term limits again would increase politicalization as much like we track house and senate elections and align them with presidential elections, we would start to do the same with Justices which will corrupt the office.
These debates were made many years ago when the courts first came about and the current system was agreed to be the best. The fact is, induced abortion is not implied or mentioned in the constitution and not protected. Which means in accordance to the 10th amendment, states have the power to regulate. To do other is to blatantly corrupt and ignore the constitution.
All about intimidaation and control...not care or wel-being...NOT medicine.
The potato field known as the State of Idaho is going to lose every professional young family it possesses because it will have no OB/GYN and no rights.

@@leighannsoles8432 the government has been draining brains for quite some time now.

Exactly. So much for Republicans being family friendly. 🙄
@bookgirlny8511 Does that mean you want the doctors to abandon the Hippocratic oath, Do No Harm?
It seems to me that the person's need takes priority over the potential person's need.
Texas hospitals are already refusing to treat pregnant women due to the legal consequences if the fetus dies. And I don't blame them one bit.

@@BudBoomer-st2beFollow the conversation before you make stupid comments. The Supreme Court case is about women wanting their baby that they’re carrying but have medical emergencies. It’s not about women not wanting to be pregnant.
If doctors now need to ask lawyers about when/how to treat medical issues, then I think it's only fair that lawyers be forced to ask doctors about when/how to handle legal issues.
I have had 5 pregnancies, all wanted, resulting in 4 children, much loved while being raised with much effort to be good citizens and human beings.
What I share with all women.... including Amy Coney Barrett......who reacted exactly as I did to the Idaho attorney when he was being obviously slippery and was in the end not credible (when he was directly asked about how things actually work in real life medical situations. and how the doctors and administrators, will be under pressure to NOT do what is best for the woman (patient).
Of course the Court NEEDS to worry about what the LAW says, but as important is how it will actually function in real life!!!!
And I would NOT trust that Idaho attorney's representation of how anything would work for any Idaho woman in an emergency room, in the horrifying and scary moments when something was obviously going very wrong with a pregnancy. I have been there.
I foresee lawsuits when someone dies because they had to go out of state for a medical abortion.Or even if they live have reproductive problems because of this law. I know firsthand. I was pregnant and happy about it. Then had severe pain so i went to the hospital. They did ultrasounds but said everything was fine. It wasn't. I had an ectopic pregnancy that they missed I was on the phone with my mother and she knew something was wrong. She drove over and rushed me back to the hospital. My fallopian tube had ruptured. I was bleeding internally. They had to do emergency surgery . I was going into shock from blood loss. They said i was close to dying. I had reproductive problems because of my pregnancy. And developed uterine cancer. I will never be cancer free and wil always have health issue's. If this law was in place then and they had detected my pregnancy was an ectopic one, what happened to me would still have happened because the only way they could prevent my tube rupturing would be to-do an abortion.Thats wrong. No woman should have to experience what i have gone through.
The state has no place in our private lives regarding reproduction.
These justices are injustices. Disgusting.
Even if they’re allowed to treat in medical emergencies they are going to be extremely afraid to do so because they could get charged, lose their license, and anyone can interpret “medical emergency” however they want. No wonder their OB departments are closing all over the state…
I had two abortions . And i have raised my kids i gave birth too. Why should i have a baby i dont want or know or i cant caree it. Diesnt a child deserves to be with soneone who is goung to give the child love

Maybe you need a state to have a section for your causes in each state!
My theme song for this issue is "Private Idaho" by the B-52's. My guess is that, like prohibition, it will eventually be overturned, but at significant cost in the meantime. Or maybe only old people and zealots will live in Idaho, Alabama, etc. I also have to ask, will young professionals, especially those disinclined to literal interpretation of the Bible (scientists) move to a state where they or their significant other could bleed out in the ER because there just aren't any doctors in their city?

Doctors need to "man up" and just carry out procedures they know are needed. I will happily give money, such as go fund me, to support a doctor in court. The insanity needs to stop. The health of the primary patient, the mother, is paramount.
No way! Leave the state and let them fend for themselves. Throw away 20 years education, $250,000 student loans, suspension of license and 5 years in jail? You get what you vote for that’s what the say all the time.
Let's put a few of those in court and prove if the law is workable. Get 59 doctors in court and there will be a backlash. Keep trying to change the laws of states requiring the life to be in danger. Keep moving towards abortions being provided again for early pregnancy stages.
