The same thing happened with the Voting Rights Act. They voted that racism was over and that provisions of the Voting Rights Act were no longer necessary. What followed was chaos, with (Southern) states rushing to gerrymander and set up restrictive laws to disenfranchise black people. They will never admit that they were wrong: they'll just pretend they don't see all the problems their rulings have caused.

Well, if you think "zero limits on abortion" is aborting a 9 month, full term, healthy baby coming down the birth canal as zero limits, that's on you.
How are you that gullible to believe that that is what zero limits means or that any sane woman, doctor or hospital would participate in anything like that or that there are tens of thousands of women actually doing that in these states????
There is no such thing as "zero limits," first of all. There are limits. It's illegal to abort healthy babies at 9 months. What you're referring to is late term abortions. That only happens when the baby is dead or dying in the womb or the baby is too malformed to sustain life or the life of the mother is at risk.
Do you live on planet earth???? Are you familiar at all or had any education in human reproduction or googled it???? Do you have human logic and reason???? Have you ever met or spoken to a woman???? Geez!!!!

What does an old man know about pregnancy.
During my 8th month, I started spotting blood. I was hospitalized in the base hospital on Nellis AFB Las Vegas. When I went to the bathroom, my water broke, and it was 7 weeks early.
The Base Hospital was not set up for premeture babies.
I was transferred to a downtown hospital and placed under a neonatal specialist.
My son was breech and had not decided on the birth canal.
He was at risk of infection and they worried that his lungs were not developed enough for him to breathe on his own. I was at risk for infection because of my son.
For five days I was pumped full of steroids to mature my sons lungs.
    I had a C section.
We were lucky there were babies in the NICU that had not been so lucky.

Speaking from personal experience, an ectopic pregnancy is a perfect example of where a woman should be permitted and able to get an abortion prior to the point where the fetus grows so large in her fallopian tube that it explodes and she is in danger of bleeding to death very quickly. Doctors can see within an ultrasound or other tests that the fetus is growing in the tube and not implanting in the uterus. But if the law says she can only have an abortion abortion if her life is threatened, then that law will require her to wait a matter of weeks perhapsand go through a great deal of pain before that tube bursts and her life is in danger in a matter of minutes to an hour from loss of blood.

The alive woman citizen is in every single case the primary and uttermost holder of ALL rights to life. There can be no doubt that any decision no matter how small or faulty that saves the alive citizen's life is just. It is without any recourse or of any issue of any other action by a medical team. Not all pregnancies can or should be saved. Until a state takes over the care of an unwanted child and supports them until they're independent; then the court/state has no jurisdiction over legislating women's healthcare. Not all abortions are for birth control...a woman's health and mental status are relevant also. Alito, like most men, don't know how women's bodies or healthcare needs are relevant to their laws. Makes me feel like men dont care if women die or suffer horrific results. Even cattle can get vet care if they have a crisis in health while pregnant.

Well no b/c he makes that statement no one is saying the mother should be denied life saving treatment. He seems to be saying both should be given life saving treatment. Well DUH!!! but that is not always possible and in cases where the fetus is non-viable/already dead, doctors in states with these restrictions are delaying medically required treatment to the mothers until they are in severe distress/risk of death....b/c of fear of legal reprisals if they perform the abortion to save her before she's about to die.

10-year-old from Ohio who received an abortion after rape was the center of a political firestorm in Indiana soon after the Dobbs decision. And Hadley Duvall, who was raped by her stepfather and became pregnant when she was 12, appeared in a campaign ad for Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear. That ad has been credited with helping Beshear win reelection.abortions after rape would also be difficult to obtain in states that have abortion bans if all clinics providing abortions have closed, which is the case in multiple states.
Samantha Hansen in Utah says she's glad researchers worked to quantify the number of pregnancies from rape in states where abortion is banned.
She says the 65,000 estimate may surprise some people. "I'm not surprised," Hansen says. "If anything, I'm over here going - it's probably higher."
They estimate in a research letter published Wednesday in JAMA Internal Medicine that 64,565 pregnancies have been caused by rape in the 14 states where abortion is banned. To arrive at the figure of nearly 65,000 rape-caused pregnancies, researchers first estimated the number of rapes that occurred in the states with abortion bans, while those bans were in effect - time periods that vary state-to-state.
"We used the best available research and data that we're aware of to come up with the fraction of women of reproductive age who are survivors of - and the terminology here is horrible - completed vaginal rape," Dickman explains. "The foundation was a survey that the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] conducted that we think is probably the most accurate estimate of not just the sexual assaults that were reported to law enforcement, but also those that weren't reported to
They then used Bureau of Justice Statistics data on criminal victimization and FBI Uniform Crime Reports to assess the number of vaginal rapes of women, ages 15-45, that happened in those 14 states while abortion bans were in effect. The number they arrived at is approximately 520,000 rapes.
Finally, they calculated that 12.5% of those assaults would result in a pregnancy, based on CDC data. "These are hard numbers to come up with - there's no kind of systematic collection at the level of health care providers to be able to answer this question of what's the pregnancy rate among people who have been victims of a completed vaginal rape," Dickman acknowledges. "This is kind of the best we could do."
Their total estimate of pregnancies due to rape in states with abortion bans is 64,565
