Scott McDonald on hilarious Thomas Gravesen tale and Tommy Burns words of wisdom - Off the Record

Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald recalls joining Celtic on his first pre-season tour in Switzerland, watching Thomas Gravesen winding up Celtic's Head of Sport Science Gregory Dupont during a training session.
Celtic legend Tommy Burns also welcomed him with open arms and gave the new signing some sound advice.
Scott told the Off The Record podcast: “We were five days into pre-season in Switzerland when Tommy Burns pulled me. I’ll never forget Mr Celtic saying to me, ‘You’re here for a reason. We believe in you and you’re good enough to be here. Don’t worry about outside noise or what you’ve done previously. It’s not a problem for me, son, and it shouldn’t be a problem for anybody else’.

How the heck did he ever get to play for real madrid
The media always claimed tommy gravesen was a defensive midfielder, and it turns out he could not tackle.
It would be interesting to hear how he got signed by real madrid as a defensive midfield player when he was not one?
I remember at the time i wondered why they brought him, but i did not care about real madrid. I was just wondering why he got signed by them.

Rumours are they got mixed up with Lee carsley his defensive midfield partner at Everton who looks like him😂

Maybe there were various clips, of Gravesen and Carsley, spliced into a reel and Madrid were convinced it was one player. 😂
They did look similar from a distance, but still.
Madrid coaches must have been cracking out the Spanish guitar, thinking they’d found a DMF who could tackle, move, pass, score and go box to box without breaking a sweat. 😂
