Man it is crazy how leafy everything is down there...the trees were just starting to leaf out in Wisconsin last weekend. Looking forward to next week's video, super thankful for Cara being with us, I just love her so much!!!
Videos are getting better and better. I like the Moab videos, but these are my favorite.
Congrats on the new sponsors. I was shocked Gaia wasn’t already a sponsor.
Great video Matt! Love the walk around during the day & night of your new Morimoto lighting!!
I keep telling myself that the east coast isn't so bad, then I see your videos and I start think "eff this. I need to move west". 🤣
The Ozarks are a special spot right in the middle.
Happy Mother’s Day Cara 😊
Love Arkansas in the Spring - Lush Greenery is so Amazing!!
Another great video!!! 2 of my favorite places. That's where we usually camp in March and October, either that spot or the spot right at the crossing. In June, we typically camp at the Ozark Campground right on the Buffalo for a week.
Did a canoe trip from Ponca to Woolum about a month ago. What a wonderful journey it was. Still putting together the video.
Thats a very long float. Sounds awesome!
Thank you for making these adventure videos! I enjoy them a lot! I live vicariously through videos like these, because I have low vision and I know longer allowed to drive.
Love the videos man! I know y’all put in a lot of work to make them. Your doing a great job. I look forward to every video drop. 🙌🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much!!
Matt, found your channel about a year ago as I began my research into a Gladiator. We've really enjoyed the content and I've appreciated the insight into gear and the Gladiator/mods. Recently purchased my 2023 Freedom Max Tow Gladiator and have some adventures planned camping with the kids and getting some dirt on the tires.
Awesome!! Get out and enjoy it!!
The drone shot crossing the bridge was sweet! Nice shot
Thanks for these videos, they have inspired me to get into overlanding. Looking forward to exploring this year and tent camping.
Super Pumped!
Matt, you talk about being concerned with taking tree damage to items on your tent rails. They are, as I recall, made of tree track. You could easily fabricate some guards by getting a piece of maybe 12 gauge mild steel and bending small angle flaps in a vise that can then be drilled to allow it to be bolted into the t-slot. if you are feeling really frisky, a couple bends and you could put a metal plate completely around the light or other accessory for shielding, or even drop by your neighborhood trade school and ask the machine shop to make you a couple brackets (probably around $10 service fee, plus a block of aluminum) or talk to the guys who made your bed rack, it would not take much for them to CNC some brackets that allow you to bolt a piece of extrusion to the tent rails to protect your light (and other accessories)
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! LOVE YOUR CONTENT AND IN-DEPTH HONEST REVIEWS.
Nice vid...love the solo excursions. Good luck to 100K. (yes i'm subbed)
Congratulations on the new channel sponsors. Looking forward to more GAIA videos. I’ve already learned a lot from you. Enough so that my first “overlanding” trip didn’t come to a halt on day 1. We came up from south east Texas to do days 1 - 3. It rained all day Wednesday, and Wednesday night. We had camped in Woolum on wed night. Got up to start day 1 and couldn’t cross there, so we went through snowball, going to come back up to the Nars like you did… and no go. Lots of rerouting Wednesday and Thursday, but with the knowledge I learned from you and with the MVUM maps downloaded I was able to make a fun route that bypassed a lot of the water crossings. Looking forward to come back soon for more!
I’ll have to check out Bolton in the next year or so when I get my Gladiator. I didn’t know of any dealers willing to deal in Texas. I’m about 70 miles from them.
Absolutely top knotch video. Love your set up.
Thank you kindly!
Love the channel so far
Wow! I'm a long time subscriber but I'm loving your recent videos. The production is over the top! Your drone shots of the water crossing and crossing the bridge in this episode were perfect! And your on camera time is so relaxed and comfortable, even when things are not going exactly as planned. TWO THUMBS UP!
Thanks so much!!
Matt , love your videos, glad i met you at Moore 23, want to wheel with you sometime, don't care if i'm on video or not, just want to have some trail time with you in the Ozarks, as it isn't too far from Memphis, Tn. (btw, my Firecracker red Gladiator beast would make good contrast to Sully) thanks again to Cara for the help @ Moore... Shiney-ish side up, and Happy technical trails...
Incredible video! This gives me a whole new perspective on the Ozarks and Arkansas as a whole. I definitely need to head up there sometime!
Congrates about Gia sponsorship. I enjoyed your class at Moore expo. Love your nature shots and Product descriptions. Keep up the good work and I know all this fun you have does take work to show all of us, thanks!
Chilling with me dogs watching Matt do is thang... Friday night yall 😊
Man i seriously get homesick every time i see ya'll out in the country, i haven't even considered going home for a visit but i might just have to. I think me having my rig would make it a million times better
That was a great video. I liked the shot from inside the old cabin by a firepit as you drove past . The paddleboard looks really fun!
Nothing like the great outdoors....camping is awesome. It starting to become so hot here in Florida. 92 degrees today. Skeeters are out now also...like B-52"s zooming in. Looks like an awesome camp site.
24:12 - 24:13 the mystery of the disappearing burger. 😆 great video as always Matt and congratulations on the new sponsors
That looked like a fun time!! Great video Matt.
Love all of your videos, but it's awesome to see you getting out to your spot then doing something else before settling down; sometimes that trip to then go explore is so awesome!
That looked like an absolutely amazing trip! Congrats on the new sponsors. Every one of them you get is well deserved.
Thanks!!
Life jacket dude, always have
Always kill’n it Bro. 👍
Can’t wait to get back to the Ozarks with the new Skinny Guy camper…..
PATX my neck of the woods. thats cool
Sooo beautiful epik video
I have the Morimotoe 2 bangers and 4 bangers are I ditched the BD lights I had. Way brighter and better by a long shot!
That Buffalo river and the one in Tennessee are so similar with the cliffs and big beaches. I am sure I will be going there soon. Great video!
Awesome spot. I stayed there last year and woke up after a night of rain and I was flooded.
I always have my phone sync my phone to the app when I’m watching so I can comment (you’ll see me make more than one as I watch sometimes) and search your other videos as I watch. I’m subscribed to you, Trail Recon, The Story til now, Trail Traveler, Jail Break and a few others.
It’s funny, I’ve done “overlanding” for 30+ years but not nearly as often as you guys. Plan to change that soon.
Great video! I like all the new lights on the Gladiator. My knees hurt from watching you on the paddleboard though ha, hopefully you were able to stand most of that float trip!
Oh yeah. It wasn't an issue. Thanks!
The drone work is very good those are some excellent shots that do a lot to spice up the video. Love that little fire place setup had to check it out immediately.
Thanks!
Hi Matt , is funny , I’m on my phone now typing this message to ya as I’m watching your video this video on my smart tv , it is true , people will watch videos but never comment or neither subscribe, you’re right about that , I really thank you for keeping the overland community so motivated in every positive way possible , I’ve met you guys at overland expo in Virginia last year , you guys are awesome ❤️🫂✌️😎, and your new setup with the rack and tent is awesome , I’ve never being to the ozark as I’m located in Atlanta ga , one day I will my friend , ✌️😎🙏🏻
Thanks so much!!
Jeep is looking great Matt, but your whole light setup really is next level. I just installed a couple of amber 4" rounds on my front bumper and seeing your setup has really given me inspiration to take it next level too. Great stuff!
I bought a cheap set from ebay that came with a 52 curved lightbar. A 22 curved and 4 4in pods with wiring. I ain't put em on yet but I did test em and they are bright af even in the daytime. Yup I cheaped out coz i had to buy an engine unexpectedly lol
Recently subbed, love your content, helping me to build/develope my Overlander... Also 10 second rule!!! 24:40 You good bro!!!
Nice!!!!👍🏾
Camping spot is next level! I can see why you wanted it so bad! LoL. Gladiator is looking sharp too. 👍🏻❤️🇺🇸
Thanks!
Way to call me out for watching on my TV 😂 I thought I was subscribed but I was wrong, I have now though!
😂😂
Looks like a blast for sure but you sir definitely got some sun out there boy ya look like a red lobster 🦞 hope ya didn't get to burnt 🥵
Nah. No burn at all. lol
Thx for sharing matt love the video blessings but you definitely need some limbs raisers bro in the forest cheers from tampa
Thanks. Limb risers don’t actually do anything but move some branches away from the windshield.
Awesome video! Love EcoFlow products, I have their Delta Max and River Max stations, along with a 200w solar panel. Lost power for 2 days and was able to watch TV off the River Max alone. The Delta Max powered our fridge along with other electronics. I have received notifications about purchasing the fridge and debating if I should pull the trigger.
I am subscribed
Have you ever considered writing a book on your 10 or 15 or so favorite Arkansas off road trails, scenic views, campsites etc, including some map details on getting to and from. Maybe throw in a few stories and or things to do or not do for the trails, where to get gas, etc. I would buy it in a minute. I haven’t found anything like it out there. I have Gaia and On X Off road and can find specific trails that I’ve heard of, for instance, Carwash Falls. Easy to get to off hwy 123 but what is best way to get back to civilization at the other end and how to know if water crossing is safe or not. I know I should probably become a patron to get some of this but a booklet with maps and everything written down would be invaluable.
So what I heard you say is that you are as aero dynamic as your Gladiator🤣
Pretty much! LOL
3 second rule on the bun Daddio
Another awesome video. Love how much information you give and share about what you are buying and adding to the rig.
What are you using to stop your seatbelt sensor from dinging on the trails and do you have the info on your paddle board?
Hey Matt. Enjoyed the video. I like the trails and love camping. I missed the name of the tent you have. I have the tall bed rack that would allow it to overhand back of cab. Like the wedge for ease of use.
It's the Global Road Outdoor Aegis 2 tent.
Sure got green fast there
Not to mention the high lift on the hitch of that little car. Where would he even use it other than to pull out of a mud hole?
Hi Matt, very nice video. I loved the water scenes. I’m a fish out of water myself. Scuba and other water sports are one of my passions. On my iPad I listen to waterfalls, streams and rain. 😊 anyway, lol awesome cinematic scenes and very informative. Thank you for sharing 😊
Would really like to know thss location if possible?or trailhead location.keep makeing these great videos. Thanks
sweeet!
Another great video. I went paddle boarding at Dana Point yesterday. You do great on the river. I love the off roading but it’s good to see the activities you can do at some of the places you can get to off the beaten path.
Gaia maps, how does that pick up your location? Does in store the maps in the iPad? I’m looking forward to the videos on it.
Thanks. Gaia uses your phone or tablets GPS receiver to know your location.
Love the new video Matt, can’t wait to get back to Arkansas and explore. Question I thought Arkansas and Florida just recently banned DJI Drones do you use a different drone or is the ban on state parks? Haven’t read into what each state ban means
That ban is from public agencies (law enforcement, etc) using DJI drones, not consumers.
Love your channel! Does Cara have a blog for her women overlanders? I live in Wisconsin and have been looking for some places to go. Thank you!!!
Thanks! Cara does not have a blog... yet.
Great video! Couple question please. How tall is your garage opening? 82 inches? How do fit with rtt? I think you said you run 38s?
We didn't see you at the Overland Expo West this year, did you go and we missed you?
We couldn't make it. My daughter graduated that weekend.
Quick question for you, are those the Milestar Patagonia MT-02 Tires your running on your Jeep. If so what are you thoughts on them? Thinking of putting a set on my 18 Tacoma TRD. Great video by the way. Wish NM had some of that scenery here.
I love them. I have a one year review video on them that came out a couple months ago.
Mokai Boat is best for you Matt! youtube it!
What’s the slide you’re using for the fridge??
What brand of paddle board are you using?
Hey Matt. It was nice meeting you at Moore. I have a question however. The current tent you are using looks nice. I have been considering that style for a few months. Do you have a link? I have checked global road and can’t seem to find it.
You have to call them. Their website is horrible and outdated.
Regular front axle fix, or modded to be more resistant to breakage?
Just replaced with a factory shaft for now. Still trying to decide which way I want to go for something stronger..
Any noticeable difference in the way Sully handles with the tent mounted higher?
No difference at all.
I’m surprised you didn’t go with a GFC like all the other CZcamsrs are doing. I have a SuperPacific on my JT. Did you consider either?
It's something I'm considering for the future. I really like my current setup. I really like the Super Pacific.
Hello! I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now and I’ve been reading about roof top tents. I’m sort of on a budget so my question is. Would you buy a cheap tent to get into it or is the money worth it to spend? And not have to get a different one later? I know I’ve seen you have some different tents and I was personally looking at the smittybilt. I appreciate your input and take care.
Smittybilts are great starter tents.
I do worry about you camping by yourself even with your experience it is dangerous
When did you chop your front fenders? Just noticed. One ofmy favorite mods i did. Thanks to a deer I did it. Lol
Did that last week.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures, which kit did you install?
@@kcsprig quake led smoked fender kit.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thank you, Sir. I noticed in stock photos that the inner fender liner is removed. Are you able to install the Quake lights and still use the fender liners, or will they not work with that kit?
I have a question for you about your amber over white light Matt. I've heard other off roaders saying white over amber is more efficient, but your lights seem fine. Does your setup work ok for you?
Technically I do have White over Amber since my KC lightbar is on top.
Guess that's true. They looked fine from the vid. I'm guessing they're working well for you. Thanks for clarifying.
How would anybody else know that’s a first aid kit? You need something to make it stick out too.
Not a bad idea.
Which RTT is that? I went to their web site and none look like that one. Thanks.
It's the Aegis 2. You have to call them. Their website is so out of date.
Do they make cabs for the gladiator? I know there's a company that makes a cab/rent but it's like 11k and that's just not realistic for me right now
RSI makes a sweet cap for the Gladiator
doesn't the Dometic CFX3 55 make ice?
It has that option, yes, but it doesn't work very well.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures that’s good to know since I’m in the market for a fridge. Would you recommend the 45 over the 55?
Link for Otzi grill?
www.otzigear.com/collections/otzi-flame-4-6-person-flat-pack-grill
2 gallons of gas could get my 23MP 60 miles max, but my foot is in the turbo too often...
2 gallons would get me 24 miles. LOL
Just curious -- what do you and your wife do for a living?
Peace,
Michael
This. CZcams is my full time job for almost 2 years now.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Awesome. Thx...
And I work pharmacy as well.
What is the river you’re on?
Big Piney.
I knew it! My dad grew up in Rolla, and I thought that looked so familiar! When I was a kid we spent weeks every year on the Big Piney, Little Piney, and mostly the Gasconade taking 1-2 week canoe trips. Essentially surviving on goggle eye and smallmouths! Did a ton of cave exploring on the Gasconade. Thanks for your amazing videos. I always love the Ozarks the most!
Would love to know where the campsites were you used and the trails you followed. Thanks again for what you do for us!
Might want to get a helmet if you are taking that paddleboard through rocks.
Might want to get a helmet to hide that hairstyle.
@@mikeprobst5945 🤣🤣🤣 That's a good one. So original.
Yeah I probably should but I probably won't. LOL. I also don't wear helmets when riding my bike or my one wheel. I like to live dangerously. lol
Mannnn,,,,, you do all good but you don't know how to cook meats!. Your burgers were not burn!!! hahaha just hilarious
My burgers were perfect. LOL. Little chared on the outside and medium in the middle. So yummy!!
