I can tell you one of the biggest reasons people do not care, they stopped teaching history in school. The issue was compounded by parents taking a back seat in education and assumed their kids were being taught the same things they were. People have also become so self centered that they cannot even begin to understand the struggles of our ancestors or anyone else for that matter.
If ya want to bring change, then take over the education system. They've been entrenched for at least 40 years. It would take a revolution with a lot of terminations to right this ship, something that the sheeple are not up for.
Yep if I had kids in school I would be working 4 jobs to send them to private school or I wouldn’t work at all and home school them! Everyone forgets public schools are ran by the government and all they are now is indoctrination camps for our kids to be indoctrinated into the government’s line of thinking! Hey Warren, I totally agree with your assessment of our forefathers. All my great grandparents were born in Europe. Germany and Norway. They came here with what they could carry and a few dollars in their pockets because of the opportunities here. They could work hard, which was their lives in Europe, but here they could acquire land, wealth and freedom from kings, queens and nobility. Pioneering the west in search of "free" land. What was the cost of that free land? Accidents, illness and outlaws took a heavy toll. Our youth is so far removed as to be completely ignorant of the sacrifices made. Before WWII my father, as a boy, still worked the farm with horses. My grandfather's both watched aviation from the Wright Brothers through man on the moon! Modern youth watched IPhone 1 thru IPhone 15!:(

Way back when I was much younger, I worked with a man who had worked in one of the Grass Valley deep mines prior to it being shut down for WWII. He said it was hotter than hell down at the working face, at least 80 degrees and very humid. He also said it smelled really bad because of the lack of anything like porta potties.

Great video, you are a toughie! Old(really old!) Cat field mechanic here, started in a Cat shop in 1962. Did a lot of those D4 clutches. And a few housings without dropping the oil pan. We would pull the dowels, use some permatex on the pan sides of gasket, put in all the bolts but not tight then taper the dowels a bit more and drive them in the tighten up everything. Usually worked out OK
Think about crossing the Rocky Mountains back then, on horse back, in those old clothes and shoes, no flashlights, no fuel, no McDonalds! The people that survived were some of the toughest people on the planet at that time.

I do see the need for good Snap On tools sometimes, I recently sold my 1/2” digital snap on torque wrench and bought the same one from gearwrench. I bought the 1/2”’ 3/8” and 1/4” digital gearwrench set for cheaper than what I sold my 1/2” snap on for and I absolutely love them. Something to look into. Those damn end caps on the snap on is enough to drive a guy crazy.

Frank bought a 1940 6 cylinder CAT diesel engine saw mill with a circular cutting blade. It uses a gasoline powered pony motor to start the diesel engine. it does not have to drive down the road, it just sits there in the field under cover all year long. The saw mill takes logs that are 16 feet long and up to 25 inches in diameter in width. It works pretty slick. Debbi's son is training Navy air crew for SERE school this week in Maine winter. March 21, 2024 today's date. He says the most important thing is to have dry socks, water and snacks to eat. Jeff Pinkham, garage owner, was found dead in his pit in Waldoboro Maine in 2015. PInkham's Garage. He had a fire in the pit and it killed him.
A friend of mine was visiting me at my shop while I was under my truck installing and shiming a starter. He said "Hey Walt how many arguments have you won or lost while working on your Cars and Trucks? I answered him by tossing a 6 inch x 1/2 Extension at his foot! LOL!

The same attitude is happening here in Australia. Our children are being told that the people who discovered Australia did not exist and that it is all wrong. Statues to these people are being torn down and there is a big push to have the original inhabitants given back a lot of land. The politicans are hell bent on giving this country away and to hell with the thousands of men and women who died in the many wars they fought to keep this country safe. It is really discusting the wayour current politicans behave. They only think about votes and they will stoop very low to get them.

Both my grandfathers worked in England during the blitz in WW2 ,,The story's they told me of what they seen and did would chill you to the bone,,,,Part of there job was to go to crash sites of where luftwaffen nazi poilets had just been shot down,,They would have to approach the downed aircraft sometimes still on fire ,,With ammunition going off from the heat,,And pull the poilet from the cockpit,,Somtimes dead and sometimes alive,,,Once he pulled a lad out,,He said he was only about 20 or so,,But when he looked down he was decapatated from his waist down,,He would have to bring the dead to a morgue,,And because of lack of space would sometimes have to sleep in there with the body's,,,The generation of today have no concept of what there forefathers went through,,,

Hi Warren, i don't mind you taking time to check your tool a couple time's to make sure you're not destroying a wear sleeve, because for us it's the length of the video, but for you, if that wear sleeve were crushed, you gotta wait to get another one, and it costs you money. I hear you about people not caring about this country, or the people who broke their backs to build it. They don't think about our grandparents who fought in wwl & wwll so that we could be free of oppression and Communist dictators who kill off people they think are inferior or oppose them. They don't look at history, and the genocide that has happened all over the world, and the millions who were killed. We have people now who want to repeat history, and their to blind and deaf to see what's coming. When the tough time's come, there will be people who have never had to struggle through anything hard just lose it. I'm glad that i was alive before all this technology, and can remember the thing's my grandparents and great grandparents told me growing up. My one grandpa who was in wwll helped liberate a concentration camp when Germany surrendered, and he could not understand how one human could do such horrific thing's to another human. The stuff he saw made him not trust people, and he never made friend's after the war. My great grandma told me about life before car's and indoor plumbing, riding in the back of a wagon pulled by horse's, surviving on little money and growing much of what they ate, or hunted. Everything is so easy for people now, and they don't consider how the food gets to the shelves. Hopefully the right guy gets in office, but i don't trust any of them, truth be told. G-d bless.

Sad day when that fire happened. They say if you stay at the miners cabin at the Yellowjacket mine, you will hear men banging on the walls at night.
All the mines in the Comstock lode were incredibly hot down deep.

I'm glad that i was alive before all this technology, and can remember the thing's my grandparents and great grandparents told me growing up. My one grandpa who was in wwll helped liberate a concentration camp when Germany surrendered, and he could not understand how one human could do such horrific thing's to another human. The stuff he saw made him not trust people, and he never made friend's after the war. My great grandma told me about life before car's and indoor plumbing, riding in the back of a wagon pulled by horse's, surviving on little money and growing much of what they ate, or hunted. Everything is so easy for people now, and they don't consider how the food gets to the shelves. Hopefully the right guy gets in office, but i don't trust any of them, truth be told. G-d bless.
You need to use cross ties to put under the tracks to raise it up for more room under the dozer then people that own them should be very greatful to have you to work on them
