- We plan our lives and challenge ourselves to do great things. To excel at what we love. However, what happens when our best-laid plans go up in smoke? What do you do when the unexpected happens and your entire world is flipped upside down? At Engage 31, acclaimed thespian and advertising executive, Mugambi Nthiga shares how life can truly throw curveballs at you smack in the middle of New York City and kill that dream.
Engage provides a platform for ordinary and extraordinary people to Inform. Inspire. Influence.
So relatable. My best line was how you recognized how institutionalized we become after making a career. And the entitlement that comes with Education . Great speak 💥💥💥💥
This: once you let go of the expectation of how things ought to be you become delightfully inundated by something else. Not the thing that you thought you wanted but the thing you actually need.
I wish there was a bigger like button
I am just in my first steps of coming out of my comfort zone. I am one creative person who has wasted over 7years wallowing in self pity, frustrations and regrets. Thank you Nthiga for this
Dealing with the toxic environment in these agency streets is the worst, I'm so tired, too tired to sleep. but your story is amazing and inspiring.
This I can relate too 💯, with the same breath I can also tell you God changes things, when you are down & out surrender to Him & praise Him, He'll surely come, I am waiting & He's been good
New York really is the ground zero of broken dreams.
The winds were strong but the roots are stronger.
I needed this. 💪🏾
It was my pleasure working with you @Kijiji Records.....I admired your work ethics...Good to hear your voice again 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Well sometimes its like youtube just knows what you need and not what you want. This video has been popping on my page for a while now and all i can say it has been worth it
Glad to hear you watched it when you needed it :)
You can say that again.
I ignored this soooo many times only to watch and see that it is exactly what i need.I ignored it becasuw i prejudged, i remember you from Nairobi Half Life and thought what could a seasoned Kenyan actor living the life possibly know about broken dreams. The floor, not just the rug, has been knocked off from under me and been trying to rebuild slowly. Thank you so much for sharing your story, it is an inspiration
The human journey isn't about a road and feet....it surely is about flying on the wings we can neither see nor feel until you are midair.
I could listen to this guy speak 24\7
I really enjoyed listening to this. Being institutionalized, as you put it, is the biggest pandemic we have to overcome. And yes, not knowing what to do when the rug is pulled from under our feet is not always a bad thing, it provides room for introspection which most of us never really have time for. Great speech!
Mugambi I'm in my pjs and your story just unfolded another moment of faith in me.
I enjoyed the eloquence and articulation as much as the story...This Nthiga guy would be our hero in composition writing
Thanks for being so vulnerable in your sharing. I can totally relate how things just change suddenly world changes but in all this God shows you a way out
When you're going through hell, just. keep. moving.

Wooow!, reality. In God we trust and run to, He has never failed. This is one beautiful and inspiring story.
