@@elenaevenflow5280 Ah, ok 😉 AIC is one of my fav bands ever and Layne Staley is my fav vocalist. Btw: no offense but I don't like Pearl Jam, not my music. AIC is something totally different (at least for me).
Fuckin hell and a hand basket. It is absolutely insane what he could do with his voice. It sounded like some sort of distortion on the studio version but he does it more profoundly live. Insane insane insane!
I know he was just fooling around, but i really like what he did with the last chorous instead of going all the way high he went back low on the "I think it's gonna rain" part
Layne and Jerry are badass but this was not their best performance by far. Layne missed several lines. Cantrell sang the 3rd verse when he should have been singing the 2nd... and they both sang the wrong lyrics on the 3rd verse. Damn near a trainwreck.
Layne nailed literally every line he sang here. I don't think it was as simple as him missing lines, it appears to be improv. May not be their best performance of this song... but certainly not the worst when Layne is belting out those choruses spot on.
@@maplesalt1482 it's definitely not improv... more likely intoxication. And he may have nailed the pitch but not the lyrics! I play and sing Cantrell's parts of this song in an Alice in Chains tribute band and Layne is clearly singing the wrong verses or dropping out altogether. I'm not saying Layne was not an incredible singer... but even Cantrell said it was sad to see Layne so high he couldn't sing the songs right. just watch the MTV Unplugged show. And there's an interview that Lars Ulrich did with Cantrell where he talks about it too. Look it up if you don't believe me.
@@tommichaels2466 You could be right, just hearing him before the song starts he does sound messed up. I still think "damn near a trainwreck" is too harsh tho
@@maplesalt1482 Fair enough... the band did still hold it together. And Layne could sing better than most sober people even if he flubbed a few words here and there.
QOTSA is my fav modern rock band, Kyuss also being one of my fav Stoner rock bands (as well as Sabbath and Sleep obviously), and I can def hear the influence. I think Homme took it a different direction than Cantrell in terms of style, but I can hear the influence for sure.
man, you don't have a clue.. and you'd better get your ears checked. by the way, this is '93, it was the last real Alice in chains tour.. perhaps not the best night for Layne. he was clearly fuckin wasted, but still nailing it. as always.
He screamed a couple notes 😂. Literally the best voice ever recorded hands down, absolute shame how he went out, but that was his choice, he bought a condo and knew he would do dope till he died, but he died alone at the end of the day.
I would give the Rolling Stones to see Layne live for one time.
Lmao I couldn’t agree more
😅😅
man I hope Charlie Watts works the same
No shit
Sameee :')
The best band ever
Cannot agree more
Amen, sister.
I thought it would be Pearl Jam for you (based on your name)
@@MLCrow I like Pearl Jam, but AIC is another level. I like how Elena Evenflow sounds though 😁

ooof that crowd came in HOT on "NAAAAAAAME" lol that was epic
Crowds that hype up and interact with songs like this are always the best
IKR, that was special
Damn when the crowd sings with him chill bumps
Homy fucking shit, he was a beast. What a voice...
I was about to comment the same. Can't believe he sings like this. So beautiful and powerful. I don't have enough words to describe it.
So fucking awesome when the crowd yells along in the chorus 🤘🤘🤘 wish I could've seen AiC with Layne
Omg for sure my friend
Its not aic without him. Ive seen them both and while I understand its not even 5% of what aic was

this will always be my favorite song off of the Dirt album (right next to Dam That River)!
Amazing song...but to me Dirt is a rare, flawless album. All songs are great.
Just came to pay my respects... R.I.P. Layne!
Over time this became one of my favorite songs off Dirt. Layne always ripped this one live.
Sean is a monster of a drummer my god
Layne was the fucking best. Goosebumps on that first chorus!
holy Layne, this is gold.
Layne was a very crazy special cat! A one in a lifetime gift from the Gods
The most amazing voice in rock history. Thank you for the upload
Couldn't agree more 😍❤️
Exactly
“You doing alright Italy?”
*no applause*
“Well that sucked”
(And then rain when I die to send half audience home in cremation packets)
No one can compare to lane... many have tried. All have failed.
Great version! Layne and Kinney are amazing
Wow. His voice is monstrous. Especially at the chorus parts.
1:47 crowd made him smile 🔥
I love all AIC but this song is special
Check out their performance of the song from Wow Hall in August 1992.
The song that got me hooked.
Same. Something about his song made they prowess around AIC click for me.
What a performance by Layne. The mans voice...
Crowd was lit!!!!
Or did she call my nameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Epic! This guy has amazing voice! Laney Stanley is the man!
*Layne Staley
Damn, dude, that crowd was singing
I know he was just fooling around, but i really like what he did with the last chorous instead of going all the way high he went back low on the "I think it's gonna rain" part
i almost think he tried to do what he did in frankfurt but fucked it up
Fuckin great song. From a great album. ❤
Thank you for this.
this is beautifull
I'd love to go back in time to see this live, and "Dead and Bloated" by STP
Rare gem! Boss! Niceone 🤘🏼
Just listen to Layne 💞
Absolute Grunge God'
We miss you so much! 💭💞

Yeah 2021❤❤❤
The first chorus sounds so good
He did his thing. 🤓 Should have added his extra ahhh at the end, but nice to hear.
Fuck, that was epic!
Que hermosa la voz de Layne...
Im gonna die and never see a aic cover doing right w this song 😂

It's the same concert but the audio and video are from different sources.

Супер бомба!!!!
Anyone know if it Rained that day?
it did
It most definitely rained when Layne died!!Sounds soooo much better live!
He died in Seattle, so it definately rained
lol
no very cold only in Milan that day
Holy fuck
The second verse 🤣🤣🤣 come on guys
Mesmerising watching Layne.
meu deus
Such an underrated vocalist
Hes definitely definitely not underrated 😂
good band but what happened with layne here ❤
drunk, high or both. it was a wild ride of excess and hedonistic acts within the band behind the scenes.
😮

Let's see you shoot up a bunch of heroin and do any better.
I do believe the origins of Queens of The Stone Age sound can be found in this here song ? Who else can hear it
QOTSA's sound evolved from the previous band Kyuss which were around at pretty much the same time as AIC
