- It has been revealed that there is an alternative cure for the gas poisoning disease and it's easy to cure with 2 pieces of medical equipment.
The Blood Bag and an IV Start Kit. However, there are some condition that have to be met to have it cure you from the gas zone disease.

@@strkeout it's all about preparation beforehand. If you can distribute throughout your group O- blood, it will be a streamlined process in case something happens. I'd rather not have either kind of poisoning, other players try to kill me enough!
Yeah man my friend needed blood the other day and I managed to get my first O- DayZ character after 2 years of playing (Probably got it before but this is my first time using a blood test kit for it) and he didn't want my blood cause he was so certain it'd kill him & that O+ was the universal donor. I didn't know AB+ was the universal recipient though so thanks for enlightening me!

Did that and must have been a glitch or they fixed it because I’m still poisoned and just from fighting a zombie in a hazmat suit. Fucking pissed and desperately trying to find one of those day shots
@@bumble2able If you collect the blood when you have been exposed to the gas or in it then the blood becomes tainted. If you get cut while in the gas even when wearing a suit makes you exposed. Blood that's tainted will not work to cure it you also cant use it in a contaminated zone or it wont work even if the blood bag is not tainted.

I just wanna say... I'm playing a vanilla server rn for tf of it and have found 2 AUGs, a ghillie suit, and everything I needed to get high north west (I was at Tisy MB) A gas bomb hit and I was able to escape, but not before contacting this deadly disease. There were gun shots all around and I was dying...I quickly looked up how to cure it without a pen and this beauty of a video popped up. I ran to the quickest hospitol at a near by camp sight and found a simple IV starting kit to give myself my already clean blood I collected "irl" days ago. If not for this video, DAYS of survival would have went out the window just cuz of a gas bomb..THANK YOU WOBO

I just barely avoided a gas attack, got slight exposure from it before I signed out by seconds but luckily stopped by a clinic otw to a mb where the gas hit and made a blood bag with an iv thankfully(I just finished looting the place too so that wlda been a bummer)
I had to double check it wld work before I signed back in to a possible prolonged death in the north

For all who dont know, the blood type donor/recipient corresponds with the irl charts. Remember, the body attacks foreign bodies. In the case if blood the body see the presence of either the A, the B, or the + (not a negative because a negative indicates that the third value is empty) as a foreign body if the body naturally doesn’t have the A, B, or the +
what i use to remember who can give to who is this
AB+
the type is split into three values based on what protein structures are present on the blood cell itself. Theres three structures, A, B, and a third that i don’t remember the name of.
if the A and/or B structure is present you simply write the letter, if the A and/or B structure is not present, write a zero which looks like an o.
the wether that third structure is present or not is indicated by it being positive or negative (if its there it’s positive, if not it’s negative)
If you are receiving the blood donation, the donation must be equal, or less than the structures that are present in your own blood
basically if someone is O+ and he donates to someone who is AB-, the presence of that positive will kill the recipient (because the recipients immune system will reject the blood I believe). *THE PRESENCE OF THE PROTEN STRUCTURE THAT THE RECIPIENT DOES NOT HAVE NATURALLY WILL KILL THE RECIPIENT*
Or alternatively think about it in a more binary way. The presence of the structure would be a 1 and the absence is a 0.
in the case of AB+ it can be described as 1/1/1. In this way of thinking-
0/0/1 is
00+ but since its redundant to write the 0 twice its written as O+
And
0/1/0 is
0A- but it’s redundant to write the zero since the structure is simply not there so it becomes A-
if each of the three individual values of the recipient is equal to or less then the donor, then its a safe transfusion.

Or, put more simply, think of it as a two-factor authentication system:
1) Rhesus factor:
Rhesus positive (+) blood *accepts both* Rhesus positive (+) *AND* Rhesus negative (-) blood, *BUT* Rhesus negative (-) blood *accepts ONLY* (-) and *REJECTS* (+).
*This rule always applies no matter the blood group.*
2) Blood group:
O blood type is *universally accepted by all* blood types but *universally rejects all other* blood types (meaning it only accepts O blood), while AB blood type *universally accepts all* blood types but is *universally rejected by all other* blood types.
A accepts A (and O) but *rejects B*, and B accepts B (and O) but *rejects A*
But remember that the Rhesus factor still applies, so for example, while AB+ is a universal recipient, AB- only accepts Rhesus negative blood, meaning it does not accept O+ blood.
So first look at the Rhesus factor (is the blood + or -), then consider the blood group.
Cool trick! Thanks for the info! I gotta question, can we use 2 handheld transceivers and put 1 on the PA and leave and talk thru the other transceiver and have it go thru and play thru the PA? I've done this before ages ago in Svet and it worked but I can't get it to work anymore.
Must have changed, got gas poisoning yesterday and blood trans followed by saline bag didn’t help
Did you wait for pull to go away for blood trans before doing the saline?
Just wear gasmask or niosh mask in inventory and when gas hits you use it... niosh will slow down poisoning smth about half which is enough to get out from zone
My luck just today is I logged into a zone with around 6 hours on the playthrough and no cure or bloodbag; mind you as well that I had logged out the previous day after falling victim to a beartrap in a police station and crawling prone on the floor for 15 minutes trying to make a splint out of rags and sticks

I got wrecked by a dynamic zone blowing up on me. Gonna confirm when it's gone and my buddy is gonna try and give me compatible fresh blood. Hope it works.
@T3YToMiC_HaMMeRR yes. Any compatible blood will cure you. Best to collect your own early on, but any blood will do. Incompatible blood also cures you, but I think that will kill you though 😂

Its also really fucking easy to get blood bags and start kits i also never pick up blood bags personally because its a waste ill draw my own blood or a group member wit O-

I remember a time when Trader mod was new and maybe there was a disease bug... and on SepticFalcon's server there was an actual EPIDEMIC or Pandemic of the disease and everyone got infecred because of the trader zones lol

The problem is the m4 is a 3 round burst firing weapon it's not fully auto even the m16 isnt fully auto the original version was but the one in the game is not the original different handguard the original was more triangular

I had two bags of blood in my inventory when I get hit with the toxic gas drop. I logged out, waited 45mins, logged in and the gas was gone. Injected the two bags of blood and still didn't rid of the damn sickness
Some servers may have modded this feature out. It works on both my test servers in 1.18.

This didn't work for me. I always carry a blood bag. I got caught in a zone, ran out, bandaged but had the sickness icon. Puked blood. I injected myself with the clean blood bag but the icon stayed and I eventually died.
Just had the same experience. Always carry a blood bag, got hit with a gas zone, poisoning occurred, got clear off zone, injected clean blood, died shortly after.

So I was looting a few military tents when a radiation bomb was dropped right on my head (I had no NBC gear on). I ran out of the radiation zone and healed my cuts but was still bleeding out, and sick. I don’t have a previously made blood bag, and no PO-X, but I logged out before I went unconscious. Without the cure does that mean the only thing left to do is die?
Update on this, did you make bloodbags and survive by draining after 15 mins, or did you die?

based on the video Gif image, i'am guessing a complete blood transfusion is how its done i'am guess before the video starts
This seems like a bug or in DayZ terms "a feature" and it will probably get fixed since WOBO covered it.
Since blood from host that are infected by contamination does not work and not in contaminated zones in general - it seems it was developed like that - for once it doesn't seem it is a bug
They are releasing this patch on Wednesday, I guess we'll find out then if it's a bug or not. I don't think it is.

What if you drew the blood before going in there but found the IV kit later on after leaving the gas zone? Can that blood still be used?

I had to use 2 blood bags
So took a pox shot right after throwing up from the gas sickness and that didn’t cure it went and got me some O- blood and doesn’t look like that helped either sadly , time to bury ny gear

Im not sure this still works, i tried it on my buddy when he got the gas zone sickness (because of a ruined filter) and his sickness icon never went away and ended up dying to it😕

What if I’ve already got the infection and no non infected blood?
I feel I cracked another mystery of DayZ: Blood type is written into a character you're using, on example whenever I used Male Survivor 1 face (according to DayZ character creator) I've always found out that my character's blood type is 0+.
I think O+ blood type is just really common in game. My characters are mostly that. I have, though, had several Female Survivor "Survivor 1 Head" characters with different blood types (O+, O-, AB+, A+), so your theory doesn't hold.
Some modded severs always have the same blood type for everyone to make it easier
No, O+ is just the most common blood type in the world, so most of the times that's what you'll have.
I can personally attest that I once had O+, A+ and B+ blood as female 9, and I've also had O+ and B+ as male 15.
It's completely random, but most likely O+ followed by A+ based on real world statistics.

WOBO I haz a Question is the blood bag considered tainted if its by someone who is out of the gas but only has Stage 1 Gas Poisoning?
Any gas means tainted for 15mins at least
@@WOBO Updating that on the wiki. Stage 1 means blood you collect from yourself will be tainted and cant cure gas poisoning. Also missed that when the vid called it out... in either case its updated

I had a bag o blood prior to a PO-X blast and it did nothing. My guy is dying as I type. Did not work at all. This tip is not true.
I retested it in 1.18. It needs to be a clean blood bag and you need to use a lot of the blood bag while outside of the PO-X area with preferably no current bleeds. If you did all that, I don't know why it didn't cure you
@@WOBO After two jet blasts of PO-X in one hour, I tried this method and it did nothing for me, but I guess the game decided I had lived long enough and it was time to start again. It really didn't do anything for me.. and I used the blood till I could use it no more. Thanks for the reply.

No, its only a cure for that specific sickness. There is no immunity to the sickness only cure it

I tried for ~2 hours using a saline bag every 2 minutes. I don't think it's possible to survive without the cure
