Something I love-love-love about the bts work in progress is how Dante moves around. There seems to be so much freedom in his movements, alongside his expressions. Also, Lady (I assume it's Lady, 'cause the hairstyle is too close not to be her) wearing that suit? It looks awesome, it gives me big "Oni" vibes, for anyone, familiar with that late 90s, early 2000s 3rd person game.
Great game! Also yeah, I like Lady's design if that's indeed her. It makes sense, she doesn't have demonic powers like Dante, so why would she go around hunting demons in a crop top and miniskirt.
I don't like this lady design and I hope it's not permanent but I've liked what we saw so far
actually, it might not be lady as people pointed out that the design is similar to a character in the prequel mangas, as well as this seeming to take place before DMC3 when dante was still tony redgrave
I do agree it's supposed to be Lady. I feel like they saw her design and thought "okay, makes sense for when she was in life in DMC3, but that's NOT demon hunting attire" and found a replacement by referencing the DMC2 novel.
The thing I find strange though is that in the teaser, Dante isn't using Ebony & Ivory, so I assumed the anime might follow his days as Tony Redgrave and then show him meeting Nell Goldstein to get his dual pistols. But now during this storyboard we see that Rebellion is actually awakened and not dormant, meaning it has to be post-DMC3. I'm wondering if the teaser we saw is a flashback of some sort because there's no reason for Dante to be using ordinary pistols otherwise, since they literally can't handle the amount of power he puts into them.
Im pretty sure its another continuity.
Well Dante doesn’t even have rebellion in the teaser so maybe it covers pre dmc 3 stuff and post dmc 3 stuff? Or it’s just random shit that hopefully will make sense in it’s own universe? Idk I just hope it’s coherent lol

3:30 Dante was too sad to be stabbed.
Something that I noticed was that at certain points in the storyboards, Dante is missing his amulet, which could tie in to another amulet plotline where Dante has to get it back.
Damn Saitama only has a couple of months left of being the strongest anime character, so sad that even a devil may cry

If that woman is supposed to be Beryl, maybe she looks like Lady because they intend on Beryl being the person that trains her once Arkham kills Kalina? IIRC, Beryl's story is a bit similar to Lady's. So if she's intended to be around during Dante's "Tony Redgarve" days, it could be because they eventually want her to be Lady's mentor. Lady could then take Beryl's hairstyle as a way to thank/honor her.
Hope we get Mr. Reuben and Mr. Southworth. Anyone who is gonna try to fill their boots... gonna have a *_HARD TIME_* as *FUCK*

Thanks for pointing out the details! I'm still scared about what may happen with this story wise but the behind the scenes animation look really neat. It would be interesting if they actually have Beryl make an appearance, and if that happens then I hope Trish does too (but I hope it's the good Trish!)... It hurt my soul reading Dante having to kill evil Trish clones in that alternate universe... He's suffered enough! :(

Is Lady in a suit of body armor? Also I wonder if it'll take notes from the novel. Where he's a mercenary and slowly goes full Devil Hunter.
Is it fair to say this will take place just before dmc5 then? His jacket and overall outfit looks like a precursor to him in 5 and his rebellion is in its awakened state. Damn so hyped for this

Never knew the DMC2 manga existed. That's why I follow the channel bro...u stay dropping gems. Is it just me or does Lucia not get enough love 😅? Hoping DMC6 gives us Dante's adventure back to Dumary island so we can get some new and improved Lucia gameplay and the Balrog fight.
i don't think we need that as a vg though , the anime , or an manga adaptation can do that imo . Next has to be about the return of Mundus imo , or if not then they better pull something else very interesting and cool , But the only villain left so far that could make a difference would be Mundus .
@Kobalt_Rax_the_one U don't think rehashing old villains is boring tho? They literally just did that in DMC5. Climing the Qliphoth with Vergil waiting at the top was just DMC 3 all over again. Fighting Urizen was DMC5's version of Mundus and Sanctus. He went after the Qliphoth fruit just like Mundus did. Even weapon choices and enemy types were reused. Cerberus was the biggest offender. DMC5 would have been a perfect opportunity to give Vergil at least ONE new weapon...but nope lol. Same old triple threat. The Sparda sword could've been cool if they let Dante use the scythe mechanics like Trish does, but its just a reskin of Rebellion. And they're BOTH useless once once u get Devil Sword Dante...which is just Rebellion with summoned swords. At some point we need NEW stuff!...Lucia and Balrog give us that. Plus it gives them time to figure out what to do with the story since Dante and Vergil are in Hell. I like Nero, but even with new devil powers, he doesn't scream protagonist to me. Just one man's opinion.
Really REALLY hope Netflix doesn't mess this one up

Honestly I feel dmc lost a golden opportunity for the nelo Angelo armor. Instead of pawning it off to Trisha (I don't care if I'm correct with her name). They could have given it to V. Or Have it as part of his transformation since he doesn't have a base lvl demon form. I personally didn't pay to play as v. It was fun but not what I wanted. Beowulf switching between combos to a clunky giant sword in his demon amor form for wide slow power swing. But still keeping the side steps would've been nice

In the distant future in that so called Capcom/DC/ShonenJump Animated Universe I hope to create my very own AU of the Devil May Cry series, by mixing it with DC and ShonenJump mythos. 😉
For starters I’ll like for Dante to be Bruce Wayne/Batman first adopted son within my verse. Dante, Vergil, and Mary would be childhood friends, and Dante and Mary becoming a childhood couple. Eventually Mary would be the first to scatter to the wind after Mary moves the Gotham City due her father Amadeus Arkham opening a institute name Arkham Asylum. Dante would be left a sobbing mess only quell by being comforted by his parents. Later after the “Sparda Tragedy” Dante becomes a brash yet hopeful orphan, he’s perseverance eventually rewards him with by bumping into Bruce Wayne who was investigating the Amadeus Arkham incident that accrue in Gotham with the pretense of a business trip in London. After hearing Dante’s story he takes him and becomes the “Proto-Robin.” Later after coming of age with the blessing of Bruce and Alfred, Dante moves to New York to open his “shop” yet to be named. His adventures lead him to meet The Ninja Turtles, and BPRD. Later after the events of DMC3 Dante and Lady finally reunited and get married, and with the new found coexistence between Humans and Demons the city of New York gets renamed “Limbo City.”
A remake of the original game is coming mark my words

Honestly I’m just disappointed it’s not more Nero content. Imo it kinda undermines the whole fact that DMC5 was the passing of the torch to Nero as the face of the series moving on.
I think they went a safer route as Dante is more recognisable and a more well received amongst the DMC community. If this series succeeds I think we may see Nero in a future season
Dante is too revolutionary to be completely wiped away from future dmc installments. Until I hear Nero say TRICKGUNSWORD while having 50 other weapons I’m still not convinced he can carry the series.

As I am a massive fan of the Dmc franchise as it's been apart of my whole life but it's likely to fail since Netflix tends to drop the whole season instead of episodes at a time causing a lack of suspense and it doesn't drive a conversation with your friends guessing and hoping for what you will see in the next episode by no means an I hoping for it's downfall I have been waiting for Dmc on any screen to take off but it is the sad reality of netflix

Based on previous interviews, the show only entered into production at the start of 2022. I imagine there’s plenty they’re not showing us to drum up anticipation and excitement.
@@xDevilNeverCryThat and there's also the fact that we were all dealing with the Covid 19 pandemic. I wouldn't be surprised if production was supposed to start earlier, but the covid put a dent in it.
Watch the trailer again and u can see in the 1:28 that the rebellion is not turned on... I mean it is sire that the animation is about Dante before DMC3 and Vergil stabbing him. It looks like they have nothing to show. Showing teaser elements again and again instead of uploading full trailer. I was kinda disappointed.
I mean it’s gonna take awhile it’s like waiting for attack on Titan people in the anime community whine like toddlers but they worked hard as hell on that final special episode recently. So for Devil may cry Adi and the Larson and crew trying to make the best version of Devil may cry they can . I hope that lady is in this show and she sports her shirt and miniskirt per usual . It’s a given Vergil in this show . Hope it’s 10 episodes or 8 episodes . The action should be fast and stylish which mir can do fine . Madhouse version was great but it was more like the tv show supernatural or something monster of the week then finally defeat Sid.
To make good animation takes time. And so far the unfinished version of the action looks very promising. It looks fast paced and damn dante's coat flows so well.
