It's pretty great. Whenever someone cries about a ship being too powerful and angel gets it's wings.
It's not even that powerful🙄 I swear everyone who complains about the A2 all are the same people who get surprised when I tell them you can blow up the A2 by shooting it's nuke before it hits the ground. You can even tractor beam the bomb if you got that big of balls😂

Herc A2 is my daily driver, love this ship, storage space is awesome for a merc drop-ship, load it with a spartan and you are set, and it can handle itself in a dogfight too, handles really well and fully manned it's leathal!
Good stuff. This actually helped me set the A2 as my goal to grind for in 3.18.2.
those remote turrets on the bottom are actually size 5s so this ship technically fits 8 size 5 guns. that's why its my favorite ship for when another friend logs on, they all get a good seat at the table.
According to Erkul they're 2 X size 4's and the other 2 double turrets were the 2 X size 5's which are controlled from the main bridge. Or is it that the one's on the bridge were the size 4's?
@DedLeader yeah it's kinda confusing because the remote turrets from the bridge as well but in your video it's equipped with m7as which are size 5s. So it's a loooot of dps for a midsized crew. The remote turrets controlled from the bridge are size 4s

Ya essentially if you have a double gun turret its a size down because if you fit 1 gun it would be size 5
I have lots of fun making the size 5 turrets all into double gun size 4 turrets with gatling guns for the bullet hell. Its essentially like gimbling and fixed.

The A2 is currently bugged. The bomb targeting reticle does not always display. Also thanks for reminding me my A2 has living quarters. I have not used them in so long I literally forgot about them. 😂 Normally when it gets used its in combat so I'm either in a turret, piloting, or in a vehicle about to deploy into a warzone or combat of some kind. I may have to try this when 3.18.2 goes live.

The bigger gun racks are for special weapons.. railguns/Animus missile launchers basically.
Yeah sometimes you get Terminator type AI.. setting the spawn on the 890j never crossed my mind, thx for sharing xD

You inspired me to buy back my A2 with Tonk combo I bought when the ship was in concept. Ty for this content. I think I'll nuke first then go roam around in the Tonk to take care of any reinforcements or stragglers.

So many tips in the video! Didn't release you could snatch objects from so far away with the tractor beam, and use it during EVA.
I park a C8R in mine to have a med bay to allow healing.
I just carry a med men/gun

The 890 Jump mission used to have 20 NPCs a few versions ago, so it's just back to what it was.
I've done the 890j mission so many times, and I am also a total loot goblin... but I totally forgot about the ladder off the main room. I've been using the lifts to move the bodies to the hangar. Now I need to go run the 890 again. Thanks! I have a C2 and had been tempted to do something similar when 3.18 dropped. I think I might actually do it now with 3.18.2. Load it up with my Ursa, my C8R and just see how long I can live out of it.

I've had my A2 for quite a while now (slowly chained my way up to it over the past couple years) and been absolutely loving it.
"When in doubt, drop a nuke."
Interesting bombing technique, I prefer using the targeting method (T) fly 250 alt while going full speed then thrust up right as I drop the bomb.
I can't wait for there to be more bombers with a laser-guided munition that you can guide from the ground with a laser from one of your buddys or from the air well we can dream I guess they definitely need to fix the bombing targeting system

Ive never played the game and have a question about the remote-turrets: Can they be controlled by KI/ NPC? Or is this ship only fully armed, when you team up with other players, controlling the turrets?

They need to be piloted by other players, but they have plans to add hirable NPC's for them in the future.

For such a combat oriented ship you would think it would have a med bay for wounded soldiers
Maybe not a cargo or bomber ship, but def for the Drop ships like the Valk should have a small med bay
You can easily fit a medical C8X in the hold

I think CIG should make an easy way to transfer items from ship inventory to an other ship inventory. when an small ship or viecle is in a large ship.
Use a Herc to put a Nova Tank on the front of an 890 and use it to run beacons.

Really would of loved to see how many credits you would of received if you had 'A call to arms' active with that nuke drop - also those remote rear turrets and single forward facing guns are size 5s
Fun fact, nuking NPCs doesn't trigger a call to arms, so you get zilch. Just CIG things.

Curious how much does it cost to for a single a2 size 10 bomb. Also how effective are thw size 3 carpet bombs, I have never seen that. I always see the size 10.
Lastly storing stuff in your ship, wont you lose that all if it blows up. The game is ao glitchy that would suck. It has been awhile sense I played so I am not sure if you lose it all.
Sorry for so many questions, but here is another lol. I am assuming you sale that gear. Do you have to grab it a few peices at a time and run to a trader? Or does it sell like cargo? Im not sure how that works.

There is an entire VR room to man the guns down one of the hallways. IN addition to the personal storage you have a pretty big armory onboard. The full compliment is 7 or 8? (you covered it) I want to fill my armory up so badly, but the random death in SC hlds me back but more than that, you cannot even touch a damned gun in armistace so they get stuck
You can't inventory transfer guns from ship to local?
I really want one of them now... but I get so bored during the last moments of landing, I'm known for crashing more then landing and I don't think I could risk losing all that setup.

I wonder if NPCs are constantly spawning, but nothing to tell them not to spawn with the first spawn alive. I went to a crash site. had 30+ Nine Tails and over a dozen wrecks.

The Cutty ships have shared storage too. Two white lockers up front. I really wish the MSR had them. I guess it fails the Gold Standards.
Will they add ai modules that go with turrets if you are solo?
The server framerate is designed to be split among like 50 players, so when there's only a few on it like with the PTU servers the AI is too good. It shoots before it can really see you, it shoots through walls and barriers, it shoots the second an NPC enemy spawns. It's just not fun at that level.
For the 890J mission: I haven't tried this yet, so I'm not 100% sure that it's possible...
You can strip each body as you come to it and put everything into vehicle storage for the 890J. You don't have to move any bodies for that.
Once you get into 100i, is it possible to swap everything from one ship to another through the vehicle tabs in inventory?
Nope. You only get the one vehicle inventory. BUT, someone in comments did say if you alrerady bring a box and place it half on and off the ramp that you can access it from either side to use it as a halfway for transfering it
A2 is Aces for multi-crew combat/transport platform. Better than HH so many ways. When not dropping Ballita, Tonks I keep C8R in hanger for snub, evac, scout. This limits risk of losing all the loot when U scout the LZ before exposing A2 to hot drops.
Just wanted to add that I think there should be a compromise here when using A2 nukes. If you MOAB a place then everything in it above ground should be destroyed. That means no armour to collect from the vaporised bodies.

See I thought that they looked like the one's in the Corsair that are like that, except I thought those ones could handle small weapons also so I assumed they musn't have been those!
Call to arms + raider camp + nuke = new way to make money
herc is the best ship ingame. high hp and shields. and no pesky trusters that can be damaged or disabled.
I think the "realistic" features of the ship are pretty justified when you consider that it's intended to go from planet to space to planet and land on the ground and drop troops off. Aerodynamics definitely matter when it uses a considerable amount of its fuel in atmosphere flying like a traditional aircraft would. I quite enjoy the design language of it, but I understand where you are coming from.

I bought this ship when it first came available in the store years ago haven't thought about it for a few years, but now I can nuke people I will definitely have to play it again and take it for a spin and maybe scare the shit out of a few people
I used to destroy the 300 by self-destruct and using multi tool had plenty of time to get back to the safety of my Corsair parked at a sake distance...NOT ANYMORE! CIG reduced the self-destruct timer 😓 we are better off just destroying the 300 from our ships now

It will be difficult to balance this vehicle with the ground combat that CIG have planned. Considering 1 bomb can destroy everything on the ground in an area and it has 4. In the actual game it will probably be very expensive, require a lot of reputation to purchase, and the bombs will probably be expensive etc but still. They are going to have to figure out some reason why every ground assault doesn't just begin and end with a single explosion. It could be that it takes a while to arm and launch a bomb so that you have to maintain air superiority for a while first I'm not sure the solution but man that might be the most over powered weapon in video game history. I'm guessing there would also be smaller bombers in the game and those seem easier to balance, this thing is just crazy.
Not really, there's anti air ground vehicles that can take out the very slow moving bombs!

All three of these ship designs are no slouch in combat. They are the easiest ship to fly and all three versions can take a beating. I have the C2 because I am a cargo hog but I kind of wish I would have bought the A2.
