I thought I would answer some of your questions. Too much heat protectant weighs down the hair. The reason we twist/braid afterwards is to keep the hair stretched as possible w/o having to go in with heat again. The hot comb is the best way to get the roots as straight as possible. Curls make the silk press last longer. We wrap our hair every night to make the style last and to make sure the oils in our hair don't slip out on cotton.

I love these videos cause I can tell you’re learning. A few answers to your questions and statements:
    - you have to use gel and do your edges cause the tiiiiny baby hairs in front often can’t and shouldn’t be straightened. If you put too much heat on them you’ll either burn the skin or damage them leading to no edges
    - the twisting after the straightening helps keep the hair straight. It’s like, think of curly hair in humidity, it frizzes and curls right up. But if you put it in a French braid, it wouldn’t be affected as much. Curly hair is just super sensitive and will curl up given the chance

aghdsj gsdhtj baby dont cut your hair you dont have to prove yourself to anybody you’re only 13, and you may regret it, maybe you wont, but you can make a statement without shaving it. i once got my hair braided in a beehive and wore that. that was a statement. i was nervous for people to see me with literally one braid but i got a lot of compliments and my scalp got to breath. lol thats the closest to bald i’ve ever been... you may like something like that first ❤️

I’m a 23 years old girl from Dominican Republic and when Brad mentioned the Dominican method oh man! I just got flashbacks when I used to go to get my hair done, my poor hair was so damaged due to the heat and I always ended up with a horrible headache, plus I couldn’t show it off the same day, I always had to wrap it and then wait till the next day to do it since if I didn’t, chances were It would prolly get super frizzy ☠️😭
Thanks God I decided to cut all the processed hair and go all natural, my hair is so much healthy and beautiful. 😍🥰❤️

With curly hair you should absolutely have the hair sopping wet when you blow dry it and you should DEFINITELY try to get your hair as straight as possible before blow drying it because it makes a LOT easier to get it straight when you use the real heat and it helps to try to get it straighter with the dryer to avoid having to do too many passes.

After the woman had finished, she pulled out the curling iron, and I yelled, incredibly loud, with absolute terror in my voice, at a moment when you could hear a pin drop, "Oh no, please don't!! That's the thing my mom always likes burn me with." Needless to say, she got A LOT of dirty looks, before the hairdresser asked me a few pointed questions to confirm it was not something she did on purpose.

Nothing more frustrating than having an appointment with a stylist who has no clue how to do curly hair and then we end up out the money for crapy hairdos. Then having to spend more money on a different stylist, or doing it ourselves.
