  • A robust yellow quill buzzer for those hatches of midges. Fished alone or as a dropper with a team. A seriously effective pattern on still waters.

    Thank you, Barry, for yet another outstanding and highly educational fly tying lesson for beginners. As always, you clearly describe and then demonstrate how progressively easy a simplified step by step approach always yields a utile and artistically pleasing fly that certainly will fish well. Stay safe and healthy, sir.

    Lovely Buzzer Barry. Not seen you tie many buzzers. Thanks. 👍

      Thanks Simon. Yeah I don't tie many, and only really fish them when I am in the UK.

    You should do a little intro to the fly at the beginning, like the name who made the pattern and what it’s good for, just a suggestion

    Lovely wee buzzer Barry, well explained and demonstrated. I'll be tying a couple of these to try out next weekend down in the black forest.
    Cheers!! Stay safe

    Good video Barry! Most of the fly folk here use beadheads in Stillwater. I do however carry a few Buzzers in my box for shallower water. I really like the Buzzer style.

    Hi Barry. Great looking fly. Where do you get your quills from ? They look great quality. Thanks. Jim.

      @Thefeatherbender  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Jim, thanks. The quills are Polish stripped quills from Veniard's.

    Thanks Barry. Would you mind sharing the producer of the red biots? Every set I buy is far more orange than red and I would love some scarlet red biots....tight threads.

      Hi, Sorry but I can't remember who they came from and they are not packaged anymore, but I think they most probably came from Veniard.
