Ellie Last Of Us more like Krysta Rodriguez walked so that Carrie Hope Fletcher could walk at the same pace but with a little pep in her step! Both are equally great in my opinion, although I do feel Carrie adds that little something more but I can’t quite place what it is. But I wouldn’t go as far as to say one walked and one ran🤷🏽♂️

Just to clarify y’all: the licensed version that’s available has this song down a half step because whoever sang it on the tour took it down a half step (not skinny, I know). So that’s why I lot of these are a tad lower😘

A lot of these people need to work on healthy belting it has me STRESSED. They aren’t supporting their voices or breathing and it’s straining their voices by trying sustain a belt that isn’t healthy.
Also Jennifer Fogarty’s belt is insane she high belts really well
You can really tell the highschool performances from the professional ones lol I know it’s like that with all of them but it was different somehow, like they either changed the notes or dropped out at the end of the notes a lot. We did this show and my friend was Wednesday and made it a goal to not change the ending notes lol she did amazing for an alto singing that high while belting
I think the licensed version that schools can do actually has the song written a little lower (I think somebody else in the comments said a 1/2 step lower? maybe?) so that may be why it sounds different.

@@marycrowley8428 yeah a lot of times when they create official versions of Broadway musicals to be performed by other (less professional) companies/ schools they lower the key of the some of the more challenging songs because its pretty hard for people to be able to perform it to the same caliber as the broadway professionsals.

ok listen. my school did addams so i went on a binge of a bunch of high school productions. i recognized A LOT of these. is it really fair to compare high schoolers with seasoned broadway/west end actors?

I just like that the one had her slap the button and pugsley go spinning. It's hard to come up with "torchure" things! We had a "bed of nails" for him to dropped on (with board in a center) but his head actually fell on it once. Anything that's visually cool, actually has pontential for injury the spinning like that is a nice compromise.

I don’t why people are so impressed with singing in a corset. I swear the fashion historians have been working too hard for y’all to still be saying this crap.
Corsets don’t affect breathing UNLESS someone chooses to tightlace, which isn’t the norm. They are just long line bras meant to straighten the back and hold the breasts. They aren’t crushing the lungs or anything.
That being said, Carrie sounded good but nothing to brag about just because of a corset (again unless she was tightlaced).
I actually find clothes like that quite helpful for support, they make you very aware of breathing and, for me, it makes me feel even more in control haha

We did this back in high school. I remember myself and my fellow pit band musicians used to always mime sing along whenever we weren't playing to try and crack up the guys who were. I was on cello at this point so I was playing for the majority of this song, so all my friends who weren't would simultaneously do their most exaggerated impressions to try and get me to crack up, to varying results. This song is deceivingly hard. Cause the first half is in a middle more chest area. Then the last chorus changes key and moves your to a more upper belt or mix area. Then you have to go back down and belt that last note. One of my fav songs to sing.

we did spelling be at my school last year, and i cried once at the table read with another friend (like openly just _weeping),_ once during rehearsal, our olive cried once during tech week but she was able to keep singing, and the day before, our olive's mom stopped singing and i had to cover for her from off the stage because i was the only other person who knew the part. it messed us all up bro.
