I just feel like Sierra’s voice has more power... It doesn’t sound thin or feels like it’s at the end of her range. It feels more supported... not a singer but my ears just love her vibrato right at the end. It doesn’t grate on me like a few of the other singers here.
@@na1959 Again I’m not a singer and I don’t really care about how high someone can go. I generally don’t like voices that are too bright because they sound screechy to me. Sierra’s high note sits just right in pleasurable goosebump territory for me.

I also find sierra's voice and transition to falsetto a bit weird to listen to..it's not like others..it's a bit strange and too breathy, strained and hoarse for my taste..It's very apparent in all I ask of you..if you want to know what I'm talking about. I like it crystal clear and thin..
while I get many people love seirra's voice because she mixes a lot more than other christine's..so it sounds fuller. And she's doing everything at a lower pitch. And her vibrato is slower..which also..depends how fast you like it.
Her acting is just spot on for Christine too. She nailed every aspect. Oh and she had the benefit of having the best Phantom too. ☺️

Sierra’s voice is insane. Her spin is so fast and powerful that you hear the lower overtone octave. In other words, it sounds like her soprano head voice and chest belt combined.

Also lets not forget, she is the best actress out of all of them. She sings with a lot of emotion, which does most the songs from phantom justice. For example, wishing you were somehow here again- without a doubt she sung that particular song the best out of all the other actresses, mainly due to the emotion she puts behind her singing. A lot of the other Christine's just have a pretty voice, and can often feel like I'm just watching one long music video.

in the movie emmy rossum. hits a B5 and a Eb6 not a C5 and E6- they must've modulated up a key. therefore she sounds flat because her voice has been modulated up a key.

My problem with some of them is that they end up sounding like they're just screaming. You have to add the vibrato and take a good breath, the breath is what sperates the notes, so when it's not clear it just sounds like they're getting murdered. Also, like, how? I'm impressed by all still and my sad Alto voice will have to stick with the SING FOR ME parts. 😭

Based on musical performance alone:
1. Rebecca Caine - that E is the clearest, most on pitch, most controlled, she nails it without sliding, and it sounds effortless. Reminds me of Kristin Chenoweth's control on the high note in Wicked.
2. Gina Beck - another very clear high E, closest to Rebecca's.
3. Kaley Ann Voorhies - a very close third! wonderful control.

I was so glad and surprised to see Tarja Turunen. 🖤 She is my absolute favourite singer and the reason why I got into both metal and opera-I know she isn’t an opera singer, but I was 8 at the time I discovered her and Nightwish, and it was the closest I’d ever been to “Opera”. Her version is my favourite for sentimental reasons, and because of her is that I got to enjoy this beautiful musical. But honestly every singer who played Christine does such an awesome job!

For a Soprano is easy to hit those notes, I can do it at my singing lessons, the difficult part is to control the air and sustain the note so long and with that clarity

She couldn't get her natural vibrato to work, so she tried to fake it by manually trilling. Unfortunatelly that's a terrible option to go for on the notes that high as it sacrifices the stability of the configuration and things will start to sound pitchy and generally chaotic unless you have a lot of reserve in the register you try do it in. It's better to just sing straight notes in that scenario.

I'm a soprano myself and the highest note I am able to hit is an F6. Even so, hitting an E6 this clearly is hard! Takes lots of practice! I've always loved that ending high note and this song!

Her acting and vocal capability is unbeatable
and btw, that performance of Sierra.. She was really sick at that time, so it amazes me even more that she hit those notes so perfectly!
Aubrey Posen actually, in almost every performance (including the one with Sierra), the cadenza isn't sung live. It's still incredibly impressive, but Sierra wasn't singing those notes live.
I do think this one is sung live. Since she was sick, you can hear her shattered breathing very well, and this is way too synchronized with her mouth to be a recording. I'm pretty sure this was not a recording, but in other performances it sure was.

Zoe Anderton actually, I think most of them sing all the parts except the high E because in some where the quality isn't that good you barely hear the notes until the the high E kicks in and the volume is always more high
Mister Golightly the high e is normally pre-recorded just because it's too strenuous to do 8 shows a week
That performance wasn't a show it was at the Brit awards and I've heard that she sung live for this and the 25th anniversary show but it is recorded for regular shows.
I really loved Irasema Terrazas but I haven't seen a single comment about her :(
Let´s face it: Sierra and Ramin are pure magic together. In this clip, Sierra was with a cold and even with that she was still a goddess.

@@marissasifre9026 It's not about what someone else can do, it was about Kim's attempt, and I say attempt, because it was not very good. She had no control of her voice what so ever, she sounded very constricted and very rushed. Especially when you listen to the other renditions, That is just a plain fact.
djsaxby It is a very complex song. It could have been a bad night for her. Some of these girls have to do this 8 times a week twice a day. Yes she may have struggled a little. I’m just saying it was kind of rude how you phrased it. If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say it at all.

I mean, dude, Sierra's vibrato on that E6? it's just insane. Nicole makes it seem so fucking easy. And Emmy has a light tone on her voice that gives the song a nice touch.

All of them rocked it. I would have to say, Sarah Brightman reigns as Christine for me.
Nightwish's version really does stand out. And Tarja's voice is different from the others and that's the reason why it is my favourite version. Her voice is much darker even in that high register.
Rebecca Caine. She landed right on top of the notes and didn't slide up to them. She didn't overuse vibrato like some of the other girls. Some of those girls sounded like pitchy car alarms with how much vibrato they were using. And mentioning pitch, Rebecca managed her breath well, so she didn't have that issue like a few of these girls had.
