My uncle went through the same harrowing experience, common scene back in the early 90s, the travel agents screw us. My BIL who was there had to sneak him out with a lot of courage and endangerment out from the desert and sent him back home.

Glad to see you ma trying the various genres. Great going if possible do check unbias news there is a similar article related to this issue faced by Indians in Italy. The other side always looks green but it's not the reality it's more of a mirage. There is a channel unreported world by independent journalists there is a story of how people go missing while they try to come out of poverty by working in foreign countries. Once they get lost most of the time it's difficult to come back to normal life. But life pushes them to the edge, where people have to take the risk.
