    Phil thanks for another great informative video...As I mentioned on your IG I was curious to hear your findings in the hawk ceramic vs the 5.0’s. Based on all your testing I replaced stock pads with 5.0s and they have been great... thank you for all the R&D you do. Speaking for myself it has made my life much easier owning my GT350. 👌👌👌👌

    I watched both videos of the hawk ceramic and 5.0 you did , in your experience which pad held better in brake fade ? I have a 2012 Nissan 370 and 2017 GTR. Style driving is daily driver but break heavy in to turns and lots of 80-20 stops as well as 60-20 stops . Currently running original hps blue box but I’m getting some rotor glazing. Thanks for the videos thumbs up!

    Which ones bite more and do better at triple digit speeds? I have the Hawk Performance Ceramic pads on right now, and they're fine below 100, but over those speeds, the stopping power just isn't there, and I am unsatisfied knowing I won't be able to panic stop.
    I'm trying to decide if HPS 5.0 are the way to go, or if I should go with HP Plus pads. I don't really ever track the car. It's mostly street use & cruising, but occasional (once every drive, lol) highway pulls, and I NEED stopping power to get me down back below 100 quick.

    • @autofanaticcars

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Před 3 lety +1

      the 5.0 is the better street pad but guys have begged me to test these for 3 years so here it is, i think the dust level is a little less than the 5.0 but as i mentioned the lack of modulation on this particular car is one thing i dislike

  • @MrDjvas
    @MrDjvas Před 2 lety

    Either these or hps 5.0 pads will be my next pad, I've got the hawk hp+ pads and they do nothing BUT squealed like crazy I had the shop do the bedding in process and myself do the bed in process once I picked up the car.... AWFUL just how loud they are. especially in the city where the sound of the brakes squeaking echoes off the city walls.
    However the hp+ pads do WORK VERY well, . It Took 4 stops BACK TO BACK from 160 to 40mph to actually feel the judder/ shuddering while braking. BUT they are however for from gentle on the rotors which is also another reason as to why I'm looking for another pad, I can replace pads all day it takes about 7 minutes per wheel. cold bite is fine no issues.
    it's just I need something that is much better for daily driving, and having people tell you, you need new brakes at the stoplight gets old......
    and im not paying oem prices for an inferior pad for my needs/ uses. car is never tracked, just late night shenanigans and city daily driving with lots of highway action - 04 STI 3600 pounds with me and all my stuff in it.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Před 2 lety

      the 5.0 is the better pad for all around street use i fee the ceramics are ok but if you drive spirted and the car is heavy and high horsepower these will fade after some hard stops

    Doesn’t shudder or steering wheel shake mean that your rotors are warping?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Před 3 lety +2

      not in this case its from the pads overheating and glazing in certain spots its common when you try to kill pads on purpose that why bedding in is so critical.

      @@autofanaticcars didn’t know that could happen, thanks. When I replaced the front rotors on my Evo X MR I put in ceramic pads from Tire Rack and although I like not having to deal with all the dust and hot squeal of the stock pads I do miss the bite.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Před 3 lety +1

      yes that is always the trade off i was shocked to see these pads with strong bite on the GT350R but i think it really is such a good car and insane brake system that any pad would stop good. ceramic pads have limits but if your not killing the car hard there good options for less dust.
