Why must everyone add music to their videos? Most of us click on these expecting to hear just the natural sounds of a craftsman doing a job. But instead we're met with ANOTHER music video.... which, imo, ruins the experience.

good comment, I add music in some of my videos but at a much lower level over large spans of time between direct interaction with the camera. so you would rather just hear the sounds of the project? what if the video is sped up? do you prefer no background music then either?

    That’s great.
Now I’m thinking I might do the same, but change the design to a male thread at the top of the cylinder so that I can thread on whatever custom attachments for different jobs as they come up and make a threaded adapter for the bearing/gear puller.
    Thanks for sharing!

I would suggest a battery powered addon, add 20v battery, worm gear transfer and use crank to convert it to rotation in order to pump the piston.
Also, maybe add springs to the pullers so they would try to return towards center on their own, making it easier to operate.

Small to big hydraulic pullers have been around for over 50 years now, and all far stronger than that one as their purpose built…..we made up a rectangular frame out of 50X50X4 mm angle drill 2 holes in to match wheel studs, then use a standard small bottle jack in its side to pull wagon brake drums off….cars and vans too…

I love the idea, but it's an awful lot of stuff to have to fumble with on top of the weight of the hydraulic cylinder it is kinda ungainly, also the center of the puller usually has a centering cone shape to center in the end of the shaft that the pulley or bearing is pressed onto to help keep it centered while working the puller, but I definitely like the concept 👍

Finger-tightening the retaining bolts on the puller legs for a frictional position hold will make setting them onto the bearing a heck of a lot less fiddly. also, a horseshoe shaped washer with a center opening just small enough to catch the inner race of the bearing will aid in removing it in reuseable condition, if you're working in volume with a given shaft diameter & such a thing would be of use. Or - simply alter the flanges to fit on it.

If someone wants to make this with out altering the jack [ non-invert], then make a plate to fit over the ram. Attach the pivot lugs to the plate with arms long enough to reach/fit/clamp to the base .
This concept is Great, not everyone wants to alter their jack so much.
Pullers have a rating and too much hydraulic pressure can break the puller. Nice to be able to replace parts easily.
Would be nice to see a portable remote ram with lugs on sides of cylinder to mount removable pullers of various sizes.

Nice build, would be good for pulling wheel bearings and frozen brake drums.

What glue system did you use ? I see your not telling .
I am thinking JB weld will do it with slow cure time.

Recently replaced the front hub wheel bearings on my 2011 dodge ram pick up. Those suckers were tough too sau the least. Your invention sould have done the job so much faster and without the use of a 10lb sledge hammer and a tool called the "bearing buster" , risking damage to other parts of the front end. I am certain I will use your idea, customize to my application of course! Thanks for the creative genus...

If the hydraulic jack has been inverted, how can it pump oil in its original position?
