We need to stop glamorizing the struggle
Then first we need to stop making fun of the kids who come from money and stop making it cool to be "from the struggle", let's make it cool to be OUT the struggle.
So true
Right...but it aint a struggle if u ain't fighting..they're oblivious to threat ..shit sad
Yea
That's exactly my point in my post! 👊🏾👊🏾
So nice of these gentlemen to show this guy around on their day off from work.
Hahaha not funny , go there and see how funny They think you are
@Tiger Woodz no, it is funny. It must have gone over your head. You see, it's funny because of the irony. I said day off from work when they obviously don't have job's. I could have said I can't wait for the next episode when they interview their dad's.
Smh ok u see every city.. present day.. is basically doing same....remember n.o.been like this for decades ,
@@tigerwoodz8711so you’re admitting that they’re violent savages? Thanks for pointing the OP’s point 💁
This place will never be anything because of the work ethic of the residents….or lack there of. It’s time to stop acting like these people are so oppressed when there’s immigrants coming over making a way for themselves. It’s old at this point and has been for 60 years.
It's great that everyone was able to take a day off work for this interview!
My thoughts exactly. That was awfully nice of them.
Hats off to you sir, reply of the thread hands down
Great that you took time to write this and probably giggled about it to yourself. Shi was lame asf...go to work.
What, pray tell, is YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO FIXING THE PROBLEMS THEY FACE DAILY? (BESIDES your stupid comment)

Except San Francisco. It runs through Golden Gate Park. Far from the hoods, but still a site for smash and grabs.
The sad part. These folks are proud to be here.
I hope all these guys make it 💯💯💯
It's been 18 years since hurricane Katrina and they still haven't rebuilt New Orleans East yet. It's kind of hard seeing a place where I was born and raised in such a devastating condition.

Can’t imagine being proud of being in the murder capital. I wonder what my life would be like if I had to live like this, but I run out of time because I have to go to work.
The thing is most of these people don’t work or if they do it’s selling drugs or robbing people that would be a “job”. I live in central Louisiana and it’s not like this. They do have murders in a few towns quite often but that is the whole country that has problems like that. If you’re in Louisiana the worst place you can go is New Orleans if you value your life.

I just came across your channel and I am mind blown at the content and quality of your videos. Your videos are some of what I perceive to be, the most realistic portrayals of how life is in these areas. I am from New Zealand and in our 'hoods', life may not always be easy - but the struggle that some people in America face on a daily basis is unreal. Your videos give a whole new perspective on just how unfair life can be for some from the get-go. You give a voice to the people who need to be better understood - especially in a society that can be so judgmental towards the plight of others. Thank you, sincerely 🙏

I'm from Dallas and I remember going to NO about 2-3 times a year back in the late 80's earlier 90's because my kids mom was born there but raised in Dallas. I remember the East being pretty descent until after Katrina. I remember b4 they demolished the Florida and Desire projects . Her family was from all over, West Bank, St Bernard, 7th ward, Franklin area, lower 9th wards . I remember when the projects were at war with each others. I haven't been in an minute but that small grocery store off 10 and Tulane had the bomb po'boys. It's some good folks down there but when the state gov't don't put money in the city or investor down invest then things get hectic and frustrating .
LETS GOOO more content I been waiting
I can’t help but think they have the ability to change their neighborhoods if they wanted too. They are the ones occupying them yet they’re warning people to stay away. Why? If I got to worry about stopping at your gas station then maybe you’re the problem. But I’ve never lived like this and don’t understand the lifestyle. I just wish these guys could see that they’re being kept down. Sometimes you gotta change your own life and stop believing that you are what people say you are. I appreciate this channel and opportunity to look into a different culture than I’m used to. These guys are all valuable and capable in some way or another they just don’t believe it. I pray God will show them how much better life could be if they’d stop believing what society tells them. Good work man! You have a great responsibility and opportunity to impact the lives of these people. God bless you in your work to bring these neighborhoods to light.

Love these videos. Just came back from Mardi Gras 2023 and for some reason being in New Orleans felt a lot less safe than previous years we had visited. On Mardi Gras night we were shoulder to shoulder deep in a crowd on Bourbon and someone yelled out G*N. My husband and I had to duck and run and it was scary honestly. The cops were a block away around the corner. I def feel for the people who live there and have to deal with all the crime bc it seems to be getting worse over the years

And guess what Mardi Gras only happened because cops from 5 other police departments came to help New Orleans is the wild Wild West right now lived her all my life I am 32 and I don’t ever remember it this bad and honestly the scariest part and what one of the problems is is that most of the crime is being done by kids 11-16 years old that and not enough police is why it is so dangerous
For example last year 3 kids tried carjacking me in the city about 130am got into a shootout with them I got shot right above my knee on my leg police never came out !!!!!! They called me couple days later asked what happened and told me they have a suspect who went to emergency room around that time shot 3 times in his stomach 15 yr old kid they told me they would contact me again for more info been 7 months never heard back from them

This channel gives them the chance to see how these dudes really area. They are decent people, they just grew up with harsh circumstances and it "hardened" them. They're smart and charasmatic and they have potential. They just need a chance. I like what you're doing. Subbed.

They are not decent people , what a joke.
What's crazy is, this is all they know. So they think this is it as far as living a decent life!!!!
How are they decent ppl? Literally homicidal maniacs. Ig you’re trying to be empathetic but these aren’t good guys. Everyone has potential to be better but you have to look at what the situation is not what it could be. I live on the Northshore and grew up about 2 hours away from Nola, but a lot of my family still lives in New Orleans. This past Mother’s Day my aunt had a gathering at her house in the East. Before we left my fiancé goes should I bring the gun? My response… yes😂. We ended up going to a restaurant with very limited seating. There were bars on the doors and you had to be buzzed in and out. One of the cooks were in pajamas and it took over an hour to receive our food.
They did give me free crawfish though because it was Mother’s Day so I ain’t even mad at it😂
I worked in the Quarter during 2020 for a few months until the crime and violence started to get really bad. I hate that it’s gotten so bad because there is so much history and culture to be appreciated there. I wish these young women and men could see there is so much more to life than what they know in Nola. It doesn’t have to be a war zone. The world has so much more to offer. I was fortunate enough to have parents who wanted us to have a better life and opportunity than they had so I didn’t grow up in Nola. I don’t know if it will ever get back to what it was before the pandemic but I feel for the people who live there. That hood/ survivalist mentality leads them to be a prisoner in their own mind😢
