ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on CZcams and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

@@TheSheepGame Cammy nothing like putting your Aussie guest straight to work now 😉 😂 🤣. Quick question I noticed that the inside the white fleece has a yellow tinge, is that the lanolin causing that?? Gosh the sheep must feel some good to get rid of the wool coat in summer. As a student nurse back in the late 1970’s on the maternity unit we used to give tubes of lanolin to nursing mothers for their nipples as they would get dry and cracked. Years later when I was a community nurse ( made house calls) we used to use Bag Balm (sold at the local Co-Op for cows bag and teats) for our patients with really bad psoriasis on their feet and hands. Hey, it worked. I was one, well guess all of us nurses had cracked and bleeding hands in winter from washing them a lot and I know I have used lanolin and also tried bag balm and both were great for dry chapped hands. Being in the shearing business both you and Lizzie must have soft hands.

Not an easy trailer to shear on for Marissa, pretty narrow, so little margin for error. Fair play her work looked bang tidy.

I grew up in Canberra and visited Goulbourn a few times as a kid. It's located on the main route from Canberra to Sydney. About 190km from Sydney and 90km from Canberra so by Australian standards we consider it a sister town of Canberra. It's a beautiful region with a lot of quality farmland that not a lot of tourists or even Australians know about because we generally stick to the coastal cities and towns.
