At about the 11 minute mark where you talk about how massaging gets the muscle more nutrients etc. - I smiled big. My husband gives me massages because I have soft tissue issues practically everywhere on my body. I try and explain to him how I feel afterwards even though it is pretty painful to endure the massage itself. I tell him it feels like sunlight and fairy dust flows through my body. I appreciate knowing what is REALLY going on (though I do like to imagine the sunlight and fairy dust). I'm going to buy your book and watch all of your videos because, from what I've seen so far, you seem to really have a handle on these issues and know how to translate the knowledge into laymen terms for all of us. Thank you! (p.s. - your mom must be very proud of you!)

This is the best video I've found on this topic. Had excessive pronation in my feet for years, and I always thought I would run it into problems when I was much older, but here I am now with plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis. On top of that, I did ballet most of my life and always thought that it strengthened my feet little did I realize .... I also have the longer toe too... so overall this video was just extremely useful for me- and gave me more info than my physiotherapist 👌🏽 thank you so much 😊

I think your UT are great. When I was young I was a competitive cyclist and runner for over 15 years. I could run a 4:30 mile but the instant I went faster my calf would give way. If I ran about a 5 to 5:30 mile I felt like I could run forever and was never injured. In my early 20's my resting heart rate was 44. I felt like if my right calf muscle was the same as my left I could run a 3 minute mile.
I tried all sorts of things - stretching, yoga, weight training, ultrasound, orthodics and so on. Nothing worked. I am now over 60 and about 2 years ago I was watching a documentary by the British 800m runner for Rio Olympics. To my amazement he described the same precise injury that I had. It took some of the best coaches and medical experts 2 years to find the cause.
He was pushing harder with his right leg than his left. This caused over striding onto his left foot. Resulting in the exact left foot heel problem that I did.
I retired early from work and now coach cycling and running. Since then I have noticed that this is a common injury. I needed to even up my legs with wgt training and not all the stretching I did. Like one legged squats etc.

If you suffer from foot pain watch this guys videos. I've had constant foot pain so long I honestly dont remember when it started. It's just something that's always been there and has just gotten worse and worse mo matter what I've done. I've gone to my docs, been to physical therapy, had some orthotics and nobody has ever suggested I had something as simple as plantar fasciitis. I have always stretched and begged for massages but nothing really took the pain away.......... until I watched this video! I'm telling you I am walking 100% pain free after these quick common sense fixes. I added in foam rolling on all sides of my legs and also used a massage ball in my calves as well for a deeper release. I'm so excited and relieved and happy I have to share this. Thank you!

Buenas Dias! Six months ago I moved to a remote fishing village in Panama. Since arriving I only wore flip flops with arch support. 3 months after arriving I got plantar fasciitis on my left heal. I have been an occupational therapist (1992-2006) and massage therapist since 1999. Still, with all that experience I wasn't able to come up with a solid plan for reducing my heal pain. I also was seeking a good resource for my massage clients here in Panama. Almost every client that I have met in 6 months is dealing with heal pain...everyone said they are wearing flip flops everyday. So first, thank you for your book, which I bought on Kindle, Plantar Fasciitis Survival Guide. I will be recommending this to my clients. Second, thank you for the video tutorial and the options of tools...resources are limited in our little village, so I appreciate options like the rolling pin. Third and lastly, what connection do you see to wearing flip flops (with or without arch support) and plantar fasciitis? I feel like calling it "flip-flop-itis". Thank you!

Man you are amazing! Update: WOW I explored for trigger points as recommended and man, they were deep! And over 4 days pretty much relieved, but the nerve pathway is so tender.
Original post: As others have said, great delivery of sound science and methodical organized details to treat, root causes of disease while addressing symptom relief. Outstanding. I have a history of on and off PF. 4 mo.s ago I had a partial tear of the PF, likely in the medial band area. Audible pop when it occurred and bruising, pain etc. 6 was walking boot. I had to ask for PT order as I knew this would require rehabilitation. My PT gal is great but I am interested to explore how to strengthen that medial area of the arch area with new exercises. I will review these with my therapist. Towel grab ok, but seems it may be time to focus on the medial area.
A video recommended Penny an pen with flexing the arch muscle while pressing the great toe joint into a penny on the floor while lifting the center arch. A pen is placed just barely into that arch area so as to alert the person if they are pronating into that pen, encouraging the person to lift upward. Any thoughts. Pulling the foot toward me with a there band created a terrible inflammation! Painful, not gout but it seemed similar. I eat Whole Foods plant based so ready to heal.

Podiatrist could not find a problem; no neuromas, didn't suspect PF and I had reasonable mobility. This past year I've had a lot more heel and achilles pain. I came across this and immediately discovered my right calf is chock full of pressure points. Am currently working on them and already getting serious relief. After 12 months of very painful achilles tendinitis with no relief from 6 physio sessions with calf stretches and insole heel raises prescribed by the physio i have finally found the problem from watching your video. Initially using my thumbs i started massaging my calves which were very hard probably from 15 years of calf raises and initially quite painful. Almost instantly i felt pain relief in my achilles and while its still not resolved fully the pain has substantially reduced, massaging my calves are now pain free and feel its just a matter of time. I've also ordered the tool for scraping the tendon and will use this in conjunction with the massage. A very big thank you!!!!

It will come back, but I will continue to massage this area when I need to walk. It will eventually go away. I think it developed because of my excessive weight. So losing weight is my goal.

Your video is so damn awesome. My planar fasciitis started more than a year and a half ago after falling down a flight of stairs and impacting the heal on each step all the way to the bottom. I was initially diagnosed with achilles tendonitis which I corrected through stretches. However, soon after the achilles pain was gone the heel pain started.I was just doing stretches for the heel and calf but didn't realize the source of my pain may not even be just the heal. After looking at your video I searched for the trigger points and it didn't take long to find and realized that my left calf had a whole lot. I will try the massages and get back into stretching. It seems as though when i don't continue to stretch regularly bad things happen. Thanks for the inspiration because I was wondering why the calf stretched along weren't working.

I've been in tears tonight my left foot in do much pain. My 19 year old son had to literally carry me. I've had plantar fasciatis now for 3 months. I tried the socket wrench just now and I'm so thankful... Got some relief!! It's going to take some work for me each day. You are so brilliant and I want 5o thank you for sharing your knowledge. Are you attending college to become a physician? If not... I think you should!

Oh my gosh!!! One application of your recommendations here, and my intense heel pain is GONE!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a genius!!!!!!!
I can't get over this. And not only do I have no foot pain, but my hip (same side as foot) which has been painful for months now, is free and painless!!!!!!!
I will say, too, that for me, it's all in the sustained pressure into the sore spots...rolling techniques don't work. This is corroborated for me by another CZcamsr; if interested see "Why foam rolling is not myofascial release" and then Part 1 of that idea.
Anyway, thank you hugely for your invaluable discovery of the root cause of plantar fasciitis.
And yes, your eyes are incredible, although you must get tired of hearing that ;^)

It is certainly disconcerting to see such a young doctor to speak with so much authority on the subject. I am going to follow his advice and I hope that it will be good for me.

Absolutely love your knowledge on plantar fasciitis, I can't believe I only just found your videos on CZcams. Spent so much money on asics gel nimbus and new balance fresh foam x and you are absolutely right I am in pain when I walk in them. Going to get those shoes you recommended.
But need to ask you if you think a massage gun would work on calves, hamstring and bottom of feet. Also should continue stretching my foot back towards my shin, I normally do 3 sets of 10 reps and hold each rep for 10 seconds. Again thank you my hands get so tired and sore massaging that's why I thought maybe the massage gun. Hope to hear from you

You are young, but, boy you know your stuff! Thanks, my doctor no help, have a tear in Plantar fasciia 6 months, no relief, found you. Have hope to relieve my problem. Just found you a day or two ago. My son was immediately interested. Sent him your info for the Utube videos. Thanks so much. Appreciate this volumn. Get a script, you repeat sometimes (not planned for emphasis) and time is precious. Also, I bore easily. I am "JUst the facts". That's me. Others probably don't agree. What I really like if all the info and how it all connects. Understanding means you can figure out how to fix it. Good luck, you will do well, just don't lose that passion. Am impressed
