Not even gonna hold you all: the section about having the right Mindset at 00:54 is arguably one of the most IMPORTANT things in this video that all Chipp players need to hear and comprehend. Me and the "Uninstall" button were starting to get to know one another a little too closely in the first week or two -- then I looked at other players losing 30-40% damage on stray hits almost as much as me and everything clicked. Still, the level of movement, mix-up capability and tech in general is just astounding. Just need to commit yourself.
THIS is the video you need. There are other ones out there that may seem like it, but they're not this. My guy even provides the frame data for you in the explanation because he wants you to FULLY understand and contextualize this character. Only someone who's been synonymous with a character for a decade will go through the lengths of explaining that to you, instead of just referring you to Dust Loop.
Subbed.
Keep up the great work.
I saw the notification and i was like "He's been on the grind with this, it better have been worth the wait bruh". After watching the video, I not only can say that it is incredibly well made, but it is probably the best character guide i have ever seen. Only thing i would change is to make it sound like your voice is less being read from a script. But all in all, i really enjoyed this! I been playing chipp in xrd for about 90 hours, but i played chipp in strive for about 100 hours, and I learned some stuff that I didnt know before. Thank you for all that you do, and all the work that you put in bro.
K9 is that you??

Yessir only I can have a pfp as goated as this
@@katchy4922 facts. Kinda weird running across you in chip tech videos lmaoooo
@@eliasrivera5644 not at all lol, I love supporting lord kensou
@@katchy4922 it's a small world after all
Bro I love how you use the Shinobi PS2 OST in this video. I loved that game back in the day. Hard as hell to beat to but one of my favorite Shinobi games only behind Shinobi 3 for the Sega. This video goes hard bro. 🤟
Hell yeah!!! Was my first PS2 game.
shinobi 3 is a masterpiece
This is the BEST Chipp - Strive - Tutorial by far. So much good information. Even Shinobi III ost was used. Hahahha xD. Thanks a lot, Kensou, you're awesome. Chipp is Ninja, Chipp is Life!
man what a small world. lmao i remember being in the crowd when liston whiffed sagat ultra against you at Fr when i was a kid. never knew you played chipp because im just now getting into gg. good shit
let's goooo, been waiting for this one
Love this guide, been watching your thoughts and gameplay for Chipp since the betas for Strive and it's been awesome to learn him in matches and lab combos with him. This video helped a lot with understanding a lot more than I would have otherwise and I can't wait to keep grinding him and having fun with him
Glad I could help!
It's finally here, thanks Kensou!
Thank you so much for this Kensou! hard work
U deserve way more attention!! Awesome guide, better than any I’ve seen on CZcams to date!
The first video I didn't watch at 1.5 speed in a while. Much love for the content.
It's gonna take experience and patience and a lot more patience huh. Well that explains a few things about the genre, the people that play it often, and some other things for me.
Thanks again.
This guide is very well put together. And the Shinobi music is proper for this video!
Great Chipp guide!
Great guide. Atm Chipp is the most fun I am having in strive. I was gonna see about oki because twitter tech is usually all over but having a solid foundation plus something to build upon is much better. Thanks for it.
Awesome video! It came out amazing 💯🎉🙏🏽
I've been watching your Twitch streams since beta and they have consistently made my Chipp better. If I ever find that I've come to a plateau, I know it's time to watch some Kensou.
That said, this video is AWESOME! I learned how I can use some of his normals better and it clarified some of what I have learned through my own experience.
Your final section with patience and your first section on mentality while losing can't be highlighted enough. Because Chipp has so little HP, you'll encounter sets where you really take a beating. That's your opportunity to learn how to deal with it and improve. Learn how to feel the flow of the fight, what your opponent is feeling, and practice taking advantage of Chipp's varied pressure.
Thanks for the video. Really well done. I'm looking forward to the next one!
brand new to ggs, looking at chip as a main. stumbled onto this and i gotta say i appreciate how thorough you are.
No problem chief, glad you could have a foundation to learn about Chipp from a veteran. GL on your path to improving with him🙏
Being newish to fighting games, this is the first one im committed too. I decided to main chipp, even though I have so much to learn. Just wanted to thankyou for all of your encouragement and advise you give to the community. Im on 7th floor now, hope to make it to celestial floor in the future.
Very well made guide and I appreciate the effort you put into it! I'm a habitual character crisis kind of player but I'm really liking the look of Chipp. Definitely going to try and grind the speedy ninja after seeing this.
It's tiiiiiiiimmmmmeee! Definitely gonna upgrade my Chipp after this one.
Finally decided on Chipp after a long character crisis in Strive, this guide is amazing. Thanks for this bro.
High quality presentation I see the work!
THANK YOU BRO. YOU ARE A LEGEND.
The Shinobi Music!!!!!! OK SUBSCRIBED! 👀🍂
Chipp in Strive is a struggle bus because, even though I think he's very good, someone so much as looks at him and he takes 80% damage. I highly respect Chipp players because Chipp players be playing the most careful game of Strive ever lol.
Edit: Also I need to add that those edits and transitions are on point.
As a newish person to fighting games, I have some great matches, then it feels like some people fish for attacks and I get blown up alot. Having a blast playing him though.
@@totaltenshi5589 I gamma bladed a Ram.
I don't use that move anymore since then.
amazing guide thank you so much
Glad you enjoyed it!
Juicy info aside, this is a remarkably well-presented, polished video. Much appreciated!
Good stuff breh!
Thank you. I just got a Playstation..and this is one of the first games I bought...not many people on it but I got a few matches. I have a tekken background and trying to learn this now..its alot different. Thanks for the help.
Greatest guide i ve seen in gg strive so far..i go be a ninja
Much appreciated your input is always great. Lmfao God Button yeah his j2k might be the best air command normal in the game. Loving the game too strive is awesome can't wait for the future.
And ps had no idea bout the alpha blade wall run deal thx bro
Yo Big brother SHIN good looking out.
First GG and im maining Chip hardstuck in floor 8
Earned yourself a sub
Bro the tip to half circle forward to resshou really blew my mind I kept accidentally DPing all the time as Chipp
Its definitely a great vid! The only thing stopping me from watching it more than once is the spinning transition, it's used ao much it makes me not want to look at the video directly, it makes me feel slight vertigo
Noted thx
Man this is probaply the best tutorial i have seen on any GG character. Love it man. Question tho. Doesnt air 2K not gattle into crouching k (2k)?
It's a combo not a Gatling at that point. It can also be combo'd into 5K as well. It's just a tighter link.
Bro Shin dope vid as always also what was the music used in your intro
It's about time for me to let go of Faust, he's not what he once was and the first character I looked at was Chipp! Love this guide, and the "Mindset" point you brought up is very imperative ! Nicely done guide !
Dope guide. Don't play chip but can u cover individual match ups next?
This is such an amazing video and this is what all beginner guides should look like. You explained all his moves, start-up, uses, and limitations perfectly. NOT ONLY THAT BUT YOU EVEN GAVE US MOVES TO START OUT WITH TO GET GOING! This is what I want from so many guides: WHEN THE GAME STARTS WHAT BUTTON DO I PRESS IN NEUTRAL TO GET STUFF STARTED???
Can’t wait to hit celestial with chipp gotta win those 5/6 games
YO! Is that music from Shinobi for the ps2? That's sick and fitting.
Yessir
Thank goodness praise the lord 🙏
Thanks a lot for the video man, as a new to the game Chipp player it helps a lot
I gotta ask tho how the hell do you do the combo at 5:32? I've never seen anything like that in this game, launching that high for a combo and extending it through
I’m wondering the same thing
Yo kensou...been waiting for this. Worth the wait. It’s true to the “for beginners” caption.
Very insightful, to the point with pictures of all attacks for reference. I can imagine how much time it took to finish this piece, but it’s come out brilliantly. So a massive thanks.
I could not understand the what you meant by perfect frametrap opportunity with 5k>2d.
In terms of what else you can cover, it’s just something I won’t mind learning.
Situational combos like (corner ch, mid screen, side switch, etc)
And a specific tutorial about how to train neutral (coz I can’t set up that situation in training) and it seems a super core thing.
Hopefully I don’t come across as a complaining prick. Just things I feel might help me as a beginner in future.
Keep up the awesome work fam. 🔥
I'll cover frame trapping in another video to highlight that. Not being annoying with it, it's just something I can highlight solo in a video so no worries!
I decided to learn Chipp as a secondary, because I'm literally desperate in trying to learn how to fight against him lmao
j.2K > Sakuganki-kyaku (Rock Drill Kick)
Genrouzan (Misty Illusion Slash)
Resshou (Cold Palm/Sushi) > Rokusai (Foot Crush/Sukiyaki) > Senshuu (Piercing Heel/Banzai)
Zansei Rouga (Star-Splitting Wolf Fang)
Banki Messai (Ten Thousand Ogre Slayer)
Lost Moves: Tsuyoshishiki Ten'i (Fortitude Transport), Tsuyoshishiki Meisai (Fortitude Camouflage),
Lost Overdrives: Hayoku Rakuhou/Ryuu Yanagi (Flash Rain/Dragon Willow)
Lost ForceBreak: Genrouzan You (Misty Illusion Slash Flash)
Lost Instant Kill Techniques: Zenten Zenchi Musou Oni Ha (Peerless Heaven and Earth Ogre Blade), Delta End, Raisetsudan (Lightning Sever)
I've never been super good at GG but I played a bit and watched a ton of Samitto in AC+R and Rev I feel like I always understood a lot of what he was doing/why he won or lost a match. I bought Strive cause I wanted to get back into the FGC but it feels frustrating trying to create offensive momentum since he doesnt have the teleport anymore and j.2k is great but its not the end-all-be-all since my friends know how to anti-air. I dunno if I need to Gamma/Alpha more but I feel like I never have that overwhelming kind of pressure I see in videos. But at the same time I dont want to just kill myself trying to get greedy for pressure.
I guess my question is: Is it better to just wait for 50 meter to RC f.S or something to that effect for a strong whiff punish since I dont feel comfortable going nuts or should I be looking to loosen up my offense more?
Im having a hard time connecting the Command Normal 1 to Resshou, 80% of times ends in Beta Blade.... welp
So I was wondering if chipp had any specific normals that are good for safe jumps. No matter how much I tried I couldn't pull one off properly with him so Im honestly not sure if he has one. Ik diagonal alpha blade can act as a safe jump against dp's and supers but I wanted an actual jump in for when I knock down a dp character in the corner.
I know this is late but you can do his sweep do foward heavy into gamma blade the gamma doesn't hit until they stand up but it's not enough time for them to hit it so it can block dp and take hit box for free jump in only one I know of though
@@lillysol4196 yh I did learn that. I've already dropped chipp though
@@whitehairedbadass3475 ah ok goodluck with new character its probably for the best though the combos they were supposedly fixed with him still don't hit ram and ppl like that
🍐
In what situations would you use 5D or 6K over one another?
Both work and are both overhead, you have to decide which is better in the moment.
Great ass guide but you really not gonna hold us down with that Shinobi 3 stage 1 remix?
this is going to make my life slightly harder
nice guide tho
the DOOD brought me here
Dat Transfiguration tho??

Video seems well made but I think this "beginner" would imply beginner to this character but not Fighting Games. All these terms don't make any sense to me, I don't know how to start at all. Trying so hard lol. 5p 3f gatling into 6k 6h like it sounds like trigonometry idk maybe i'm too dumb for this
Is this guide still up to date
No but will update in season 2, the "not nerfed" video is current to this

Revelation 14:12
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
No Tiger Knee inputs? Shame on you Kensou
Nice guide, but not showing the inputs in a beginners guide kinda kills it for me.
Very well done. Good stuff on editing, music choice, and everything concerning the tutorial from format to explanation.
We see you putting in that work!
It's the laziest way he could have possibly done it? Why are you complimenting format lol. This is the type of presentation format that I did in middle school.
