Had the unbelievable honor of getting to collaborate with the truly legendary singer and songwriter Melissa Etheridge on one of her brand new songs, "A Little Hard Hearted". Who would have known that such different voices would sound so great together? Melissa's strong vocals, and the softness and calmness of your voice Sam, they just left me speechless. The violin was an excellent compliment to the guitar as well! I really should have been looking forward to this collaboration a little bit more!

The contrast between Sam's light, sweet voice and Melissa's rougher, hearty voice harmonized surprisingly well. It sounded great! :)

i always thought it would somehow "piss me off" to see anyone but melissa sing her songs, but,WOW!! the softness is so beautiful. melissa didn't try to change her voice, she just softened it a bit. it's soo evident how proud she is (of what she created) as well she should be. seeing her fri night in l.a. can hardly wait. just gorgeous-bravo!

This combo was pure magic. I felt like I was listening to a rare combination of such different sounds that I got the same feeling I get from orchestras. Melissa is so Blues and you slid right in like a warm blanket and lifted those vocals off the charts,

I would say the A Little Hard Hearted very warm hearted,it just like your family talking to you,telling you something gently,harmonious scene and harmonious duet.

melissa is a powerhouse, but can also sing very tenderly. i've been a huge fan since 1990 or so. she's also a truly amazing (gifted) guitar player. she also plays the piano beautifully, and a few other instruments to boot. hear on youtube, type in, "melissa rocks town hall." when she decides to "take the roof off of a place,"...well, i've been there. leaves you feelin' high for a week. enjoy! she's a gift.
I am a huge Melissa Etheridge fan, and I love the This Is M.E. cd. But I really wish this version was on the cd rather than the version she released.
Now THAT is a vocal match up! How great it must have been to work with Mellisa!

I would not have thought of the two of them together. But it is great!! I've followed Sam for years. The first time I saw him on youtube I was amazed at voice. He was the first "follow" I did on youtube. The second was Kurt Hugo Schneider. I think his production talents are outstanding. As to the high range of his voice...I only wish I had it.
