    In today's video liv and I set out to vaccinate some calves and remove a few horns/buds we start off with doing some 2nd vaccinations of a batch and move on to removing buds off 20 calves and finish up doing some 1st vaccinations in the new shed.

    Morning Phil,we've had the vet dehorn calves last couple of years under general anestetic, different job again 👍 couple ml of metacam as well 👍 and you wouldn't know they've been done 😁

    The new feedstuffs are working well is that a teemore calf crate I have the same one only fault is the nose holder they keep pulling out of it

    The calves do look much stronger this year, didn't see one that looked sickly. Great news that Liv is going to be able to be at home full time now.

      @@sarahann530 Not sure what your point is! I watch all the videos and was aware that in a previous video a calf had died but I was commenting on the calves shown in this video and these looked pretty healthy to me.

    Have you any idea about bloat in calfs how it happens or why it happens Phil ??

      There’s lots of things that can cause bloat from dirty feeders to eating things they shouldn’t and twisted guts. 2 ways it happens is with bad bacteria producing lots of gas the calf isn’t able to pass and the other is a blockage that prevents the calf from passing the gas

    Why don’t ye dehorn the calves from birth if you use the paste it might stunt the growth for a week r so but do worth it for the safety of the animals

      Skinny is the last word I'd use to describe that Rottweiler, he's a beast of a dog. Not sure what other rotties you'd be seeing

      Unfortunately all that’s going on is slurry and I think it’s a bit repetitive to keep doing slurry videos so just waiting for the ground to dry to get into the tillage work

      3 calf videos in 1 month when phil has uploaded 14 times this month really isn't that much only like 20% and no cows = no machinery they all rely on each other to make the world go around, life can be sitting in a tractor 12 hours a day on GPS looking at you phone.

      Thats what people dont get about farming..if you dont look after the livestock, you wont be able to afford a tractor or anything else..and yes i have spent my whole life driving machinery, trucks and farming..😉
