Chuck Berry dung about his ding a Iing, it did help the job ,I do remeber, God bless H.F and the outside implment makers who made the grey attachments. Nice clean boutboards is where it at too.
Love to seeing all the beautiful family joining in with all the hard work 😓 You all seem to get along as a family it’s good to see.Farmer Phil and Father Phil are our family viewing after a busy day.We love watching we love Ireland all for now.GodBless.🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️
How many Longford men does it take to change a light bulb? None - the women already changed it while the men were thinking about it!
Lovely to see all the family working to geather having the crack
I can't be the only person who thought of 'that' Fr Ted episode when you were bating away at the hopper 😂 Fine 390 there outside the garage too Phil, shed make a great yoke on the feeder if whoever owns it forgets it's there 😉
It was like the raffle car, just tap that bit there out.
Good bye to you too mammy Phil 😁
That looked like a great family day our Phil,I love to see it.
It's mighty to watch father Phil and uncle working so closely together, do they have the odd falling out? 🤔
Made drills like that in 1968 with a fergie 20 and ridger. My neighbour said they were as crooked as a dogs piss in the snow.and use a stabliser bar to keep them straight.Kerrs pinks are a nice flowery spud.but they need an anti blight spray earlier than the rest. Nice footage.regards from galway.
Many hands make light work 👍.
You guys are crazy, but fun! hi from Mexico
OMG !! how you manage to farm is amazing with All the vintage machines you use lol
Watch the tractor grip going around to get the spud timing....that was I was told....again many years ago, great memories....
The old ways are the best, tried and true.
When I was much younger I spent many hours on a three row planter, side by side. But we had to drop one each time a bell rang, bell driven by a wheel turned by running along the ground. It looked to me there was going to be some wide gaps, some places with plants coming up next to each other. But it looked like they was having fun so thats the main thing, Enjoy life.
A family who plants together stays together
I planted 2 rows of spuds back on March 16 th. 2022. They were blooming last week. It's June 14 th 2022 today. I also planted 3 rows back on April 16 th. They are doing well but not blooming yet. In Martinsville, Illinois. I like your videos! I also grow pumpkins and have 16 acres this year. I have some pumpkin videos on you tube under my name.
Picking stones my favourite job 🤣🤣
That brings back memories standing on the Spud Planter.👍
That was a great video, good family fun. I love that its being done with the vintage machines. You spoilt them this year with proper seats. Hope we can see some more planting videos.
and the cushions!!!! lol
Planting spuds should always be a family affair 👍🏻👍🏻
A brilliant video great to see all the family on the job well done everyone 👍👍
Love the T-shirt, Phil. So true. Glad to see you are having a nice sunny day. Love those Yukon Golds with salt, pepper and a bit of butter and sour cream. The garden soil looks lovely, but those stones ARE a bit large for you to be leaving in the planting. Thanks for the morning chuckle. The veggie patch will be lovely for the farm store.
Great video… the 35 is as useful as ever.
Great banter at the planter laughed along with u guys great video
Great video Phil nice to see the family working and having fun together
Bring back memories when I was young boy sowing spud
Some precision engineering at the start there
Absolute brilliant video Phil great to see all the family involved
Ah great craic, gave me a laugh. Congratulations Phil to Yourself and Liv.
The best people do all jobs that what family is all about working together
"Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals & happiness."
Very good brings back some good memories on Scott's farm.
Hahahaha absolutely love that seat cushion.
We always sliced our tators in half when we planted them, plus we did it at night time. Root crops grow better if planted by the light of the moon, at least they always did for us. Great video, cheers :)
Like that video Farmer Phil brilliant nice weather for planting spuds.
Just fantastic entertainment 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Could do with a run with the sheep shears u and bro 🤣🤣👍
brings a lot of memories
Oh i love this. Oldtimers 😍
I have been planting records for a few years now and they are a great spud, I also made a few quid selling them to a boy that has a few cattle as his turnip ground didn't produce as much as he would have liked
I thought Father or Uncle were going to get a squashed hand when they were pointing out where you needed to hit with the sledge hammer
I noticed he moved pretty quickly out of the way each time, he is pretty sharp, must be, can still count to ten. Lovely video.
Hi Phil Nice to see the MF 35X is still working when required, cracking wee tractor 👍
country living cant beat it
Good on bro , great to see the potatoes going into the ground
I thought i was watching killnascully when you were going down the road and Father Phil was nearly as funney as Pat Short
I was waiting for the music

love the vids Phil. remember the days planting spuds by hand when i was a tad younger on the farm.. You need a bell on that planter to get the timing right to drop or someone walking behind on a beat drum lol ....
An earlier comment said: "Watch the tire cleats moving past to get the timing right".
Just found your channel, so had to subscribe, very enjoyable and laughed a lot, love the banter and the Irish accent, a most enjoyable family get together mucking in to get the spuds, brilliant viewing 🇬🇧🤘☀️⭐️
Great video Phil.Brings back memories of 40 yrs ago !!! Still got same kit somewhere. Get bell sorted for Bro !!! Hope ur spuds do well. Nice to see all the family help. Keep up the good work. Happy night time reading Father & Mother Phil.
Looks like too much fun to be considered work
on the hammering out the hopper -" just where his hand is there" - was he serious??? lol
Awesome video. Your first video I watched was of digging spuds . Glad to see how you get them planted.
Well drilled
Brilliant stuff Phill, & Co, you can't beat your spud!
did that when in ireland was fun after rock picking
By the time they finish planting they will be glad that bell is broken Phil.
The bigger Board on a Sponde the better it is so they a ok 👌👍😀
Great vlog Phil brings back memories...he seemed to have had a bit of craic at it too....hope ya get the weather now for them to grow
Great to see the spuds going in
that's cool. im still doing it by hand russet seed potato
Great video phil looks like your all having a great laugh is bro letting his hair grow like 1 of the Beatles
It is hard to beat a good laugh, Great job👌👌👌
on that planter there should have been a disc running in the ground, at the back, which had small raised points on it at various distances apart there was a smaller wheel that run on the disc which had a bell attached to it which rang at set intervals to tell you when to drop a seed into pipe. after 8 hours or that bloody bell ringing for weeks 😭
Phils brother is quite an enthusiast one
re bonjour c est un bonheur de voir toutes la familles travaille ensemble pour les pommes de terre et en plus un beau massey 😍 , bon courage a vous pour la suite 👍👍👍👍
Coming from a telecoms background. I was very impressed to see you using the very latest GPS guidance systems for the planter, and tractor!!!!Great video, I must call over for a bag , when they r harvested. Greetings from Dun Dealgan........
Brilliant. Great stuff Phil.
Lovely family then theres Eric
Great Video and you were all having fun at it.
Great stuff Phil, best of luck with them.
When you "drill" down and get the family involved "Yukon" break all kinds of "records". It's important to be "Kerr"ful "sow" no-one gets "spud" out. Is he sitting up in the bed to make sense of this one Mammy Phil.🤔😆
^Where's the rooster?'^said Father Phil
@@FARMERPHIL3690 Sure he has important work to do back home since he came into our yard.
Great family video Phil which it's all about at the end of the day, give Bro a few more years and he'll carry you all under his arm going to be a huge man. Look forward to your shop in the Autumn..
Cool video thanks again friend please keep the great videos coming and please stay safe friend 😊
We've had ours in since April 17th
Great family i wish you all well from the north
Great video,it brings back memories.
If I remember correct the original down chute on this planter was square and wider even then with large seed potato's like the majestic you still had blockages.
Thank you for sharing that. 👍 I miss this kind of work / atmosphere. Might have to dig out the gray mf auto planter and try it again 😕😬😉. Thank you once again fir sharing. Stay safe 🏴 👌 👍
Great video,really enjoyed it
I remember sitting on that bloody old spud dropper about 50 years ago same set up you have it didn't half wreck your back.
Lovely family love watching

Awsome video farmer Phil 👩🌾nice to see the family helping out 👌👌👍👍🏴🏴☝️☝️🇬🇧🇬🇧👩🌾👩🌾🚜🚜
First timer on the channel; where is Farmer Phil farming? I think he's from across the pond from me. Loved the video and the family working together!
A straw seat on the 35 and a bag for the girls on the dropper
Go aisey on the buds is all I used to hear when planting the spuds
Nice 390t do you have any front weights for sale for a 390t
I'd say there'll be plenty skips in that patch.
Love Vid Phill & family ! Alot of Potatoes brother! Good ideas ! Think Daddy is enjoying himself . 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✌✌✌✌✌🍺🍺🍺
Is that a new 2 wd massy at the start of the video by the jeep? Never seen it before
23:44 did you find the thing for covering the microphone on the camera? 😂
Is the old man winding down. He seemed to mellow with the young lad. I missed Derek's coaching in the best Farming Father style.
Spent many day at when I was a kid. Sometimes an oblong spud would get stuck in the chute. Hand up time then to stall the driver. Should have waited to the end of the video. Same thing happened to Phil.
A bed time story once apon a time there was family that planted spuds with a Massey 35 when the spuds were planted the son said that it would be hard to harvest the spuds but his mother told him how to harvest them and he was sickened when she told him how easy it would be
the end
Loved this video, reminds me of planting spuds. Bro the key staff member eh.
Lucky the diamond ring didn't go down the spout
Class video phil
Uncle Ian 💪
Mother Phil told ya a wise woman 😁
I’m going to be rude I think Phil you better hand the spud enterprise to your mom , she’s the expert and your expected to have the spud hard before planting or seeding as it’s called in Oz Brought back fond memories of our spud planting days and I wasn’t a fan of spud planting, but u can’t bate the tick of the 35
Great video
Brilliant Phil! Use are a great family hi , will there be spuds for sale in the shoot his year ? 👍👍👍 Hello brother and uncle Phil 😎😎👍👍
