  • This is a useful tutorial for all those who play the baroque oboe mainly, but also for those who want to see how you can build a baroque reed without any mechanical shape, but with a simple cutel, a little sandpaper and a good manuality.
at the end of the video I wrote all the measures to get a good reed. For those who want to know how to discard a baroque reed, I insert here the link to see another video of mine that I produced some time ago.
    Good vision.

What's the case full of reeds at 10:30? Are these your spares, and they are aging/drying?

I simply took a group of rods from my box and put them there because then, after making the one you saw in the video, I chose others and shaped them as well.

The oboe is incredibly sharp on the music behind. Nevertheless thanks for the tutorial; very helpful.

Thanks Joe! With those reeds you saw made in the tutorial, I then made these videos of which I put the background music. Here they are in the order you listen to them in the tutorial:

@@giuseppenalinoboe very nice! Thanks to share. Do you sell reeds? I just grabbed a baroque oboe and unfortunately don't make my own reeds yet. And where do you live?
