- Il video è a scopo didattico e potrebbe essere utile a molti giovani oboisti che si stanno avvicinando alla costruzione manuale dell'ancia, gioia e dolore di ogni oboista!
I modi di impostare un'ancia sono molteplici. Nel video è spiegato il mio modo di costruire l'ancia, basato su quelle regole tecniche fondamentali che vanno rispettate per una buona realizzazione dell'ancia stessa.
Gli elementi più importanti sono, in particolare, due:
1) la canna di buona qualità (arundo donax)
2) il tubo di ottone scelto per il proprio strumento.
Ogni pezzo di canna ha una storia a sè e non tutte le lavorazioni e ritocchi potranno essere uguali.
Sono del parere che suonando un oboe eccellente con un'ancia mediocre, l'oboista difficilmente potrà ottenere buoni risultati, ma viceversa, suonando un oboe mediocre con un'ancia eccellente si potranno raggiungere grandi soddisfazioni interpretative.
This video is meant as an instruction to help students who are beginning to learn how to make oboe reeds by hand…..the agony and the ecstasy of every oboist!
There are many different ways of making reeds. In the video I explain my way, based on fundamental technical rules which must be followed in order to achieve a good result.
The most important elements are:
1) good quality cane
2) the right type of staple chosen for your instrument
Each piece of cane is different so the requirements and the final result are not always the same
In my opinion if an oboist has a good instrument but a bad reed they won’t be satisfied. On the contrary, with a bad instrument but an excellent reed they will be able to fullfil their musical capabilities.
