Kudos to Willie for even making it to the CMA's He is nearly 90 and still getting out there. A lovely duet very respectfully led by Kacey. I do love when the Oldtimers and the upcomers work together, these are the treasures we will hold dear when the Oldtimers are long gone.
I love the respect that she has for him, she sees the nervousness in his performance but immediately tries to soothe and work with him. It really shows the respect she has for those that came before her. And his beautiful comment in the end just describes the relationship the two have. I love it!

Probably because I'm getting to be an old man myself. Life is fleeting,but the good memories touch our soul. And his performance reaches right into it. My grandmother and I watched this video together a few years back, it was one of her favorite songs. Someone else had posted it, she passed away not long after that and I watched it on repeat for days. I came back to watch it sometime after and it was gone, I couldn't find a good version of it after that and was heartbroken. I see this great authentic old man with his old guitar in the middle of all the gleaming and sparkling lights and decorations of a modern country-show. For me, he looks a little misplaced. My old hero, the man, who brought everyone in my generation to learn playing guitar. Shure, I love this duet, I love how this matured (is this the right word?) voice comes together with the voice of an angel. But please don`t be angry at me, this duet shows us too, were country comes from and where country is now. (Sorry, I`m not a native english speaker, I`m from germany. I hope, You can understand, what I meant?)
