- Given the huge level of tributes he rightly received when he died in 2009, it's sometimes easy to forget the level of criticism Bobby Robson often endured when he was England manager. That is certainly the case after a 2-0 home defeat to the Soviet Union in May 1984, as 'Robson Out' is loudly chanted at the finish. An under-strength England rarely threaten to score against their lively visitors, but just a week later they will famously win away to Brazil.

What a great side the Soviet Union were in the 80’s...Should have won something in that decade.Became known as the “World Champions of friendlies”
USSR had some great players in the 80s but credits should also go to the late valeriy lobanovskyi, one of the legendary coaches in football history.
That was a great Soviet team. Even better 2 years later.
The USSR had a really good team in the 80ties.
They played fantastic in 86 in Mexico.
Ironically, in the 80's the USSR changed its economycal system into Capitalism and was predicting its fall...... The National soviet team would be the first and last good team
Yes Belgium picked their pocket, in one of the best ever World Cup games
Alan Ainsworth USSR forced the play with all out attack the likes of which had rarely been seen. But Belgium had some great players- including the goalkeeper
And there was no team called ussr in the 90ties 😂
The USSR was the underrated team of the 70es and 80es. They were always Top5 in Europe behind Germany, Italy and France.
Nice tribute the english paid to the Soviets 18 years after.
Well, USSR was very very strong at that time. England was also fantastic. This was a quality match which we donot watch a lot in this time.
Another great England upload Mr Cestrian. Enjoying the write ups too. Keep up the good work!
Very clearly remember listening to this game live on the radio. Only 36 years ago 🥺.....
My favorite match with USSR it was V France at Mexico 86.
Where was Hoddle at this time? He didn't play in the Brazil game either.
That Peter Shelton , what a great goalkeeper .
19174975 Shilton even
No, is Peter Shit-ton, clumsy as he is stupid, ray clemence would have been a better no.1 for England.
Shilton & Dassaev absolutely World Class Keepers.
I remember asking a girl in a bar her name in a bar and she said fuck off. I was so excited, ive heard about these Russian chicks
Loved the USSR team at Euro 88. Classic retro kit.
oleg protosov..did he also score against england at euro88 ?.
Mike Duxbury made the blunder and the chance for him to cement a place as a no 2 in England XI was gone.
0:46 Oxlade Chamberlains dad.
I went to this, my lasting impression is of what a decrepit stadium Wembley was..a depressing experience.
"Robson out......" at the end, FFS the man was one of your best managers ever
We only appreciated it after he’d left! He got stick the whole time he was manager
@@That_Random_Bloke He wasn't really that good if you look at his record.
@@gunternetzer9621 Certainly no England manager today would survive with his euros record (as McClaren proved in 2007) but he did pretty well in World Cups.
2:21 "Think 🇬🇧 Print With BPCC"
LMMFAO!
Oleg bloghin! Belanov,rats,demianenko!❤
5:0 at home 0:1 in portugal. Portugal won both against poland. Ussr won at home and a draw away.
80's russian football was better than now. Probably they don't interest football now as past
Duxbury didn't slip, he stood on the ball
Gros match . 👍🏻
USSR GREAT FOOTBALL 1980❤
AS USUAL.
RINAT dazaev q arquerazo inglaterra tanbien con peter cheltoon
0:01 Oganessian went on to much greater things.
6:05 What are the crowd shouting here? Is it "Robson out"? Robson probably did better than almost any other manager. He got them to the semi final in the world cup, only beaten by a huge fluke goal by Germany.
@@ashleyhyne7027 he had a tough first couple of years. He didn’t help himself by jettison the likes of Keegan, but he couldn’t get a settled side in those first years with injuries playing a part
Not a good manager.
Esse jogo é de 2002 Estados Unidos três e quatro Vietnã.
Вот ,что значит одна великая страна,свободная и счастливая по своему . Один палец в шаблоне слабый,пять пальцев в кулаке сила,сила духа и сила еденеия..
What did you say?
Very good game for Russia as beat and destroyed England 2-0
USSR always owned England
The head to head between the USSR and England was 5 wins for England, 3 wins for The USSR and 3 draws
Shilton was fuckin toilet 😂😂😂
There's no doubt it was a B England level side out there.

This team with one or two changes beat Brazil at the Maracana a few weeks later.

Omg this is Succulent Rich himself.
Crustdisplacement they beat the understrength Brazilian team with no Zico and Socrates.
Rubbish this USSR team was great ,beyond your understanding off football .
