I think, this offer is only available, when ordering from China. At least it didn't work for me (ordering from the French Warehouse).
Would like to let everyone know I ordered one of these the day he posted this video and seen this comment. I used the message “just the watch” and DID NOT get the nato.
Is this promotion still available?
@@Luceked Hello, dear friend
He's still here
I followed the instructions and added it with a note/comment where I explicitly referenced/mentioned this video and this comment, and I did _not_ get the strap.
Just when I think I have found the best value in a daily driver, something like this pops up. Thanks, Dave. You've helped me spend more money :)
I own 3 with no issues. It’s the most underrated watch and they have nh35 Seiko movement. It doesn’t get any better for $100
Have been a sub for a while and I couldn't understand how an American was so subdued, restrained and minimalist even. Then in your video "How to save hundreds of dollars on watches - My strategy for finding good deals" you mentioned that you're living in Japan and immediately jumped on me that made so much sense because you really embody a lot of that zen-like suaveness.
For this price, it is one of the best.
No need to sugarcoat the bezel action, Dave. All it takes to turn Pagani bezels is typically a good, hard sneeze... Still great value, and extremely enjoyable watches. Thanks for the review.
4:19, now we know why the movement broke on the first one... it was not as shock resistant as the second one apparently.
The specs are tempting and I am happy that your provided unit has no QC issues but I have had mixed experiences with Pagani Design. One was dead on arrival and other came with defective chronograph function or big scratches on the bezel. Return experience on aliexpress is difficult as you are required to pay for international shipping.
That is why I decided to not buy from them anymore.
They sent him a cherry-picked watch. There are tons of these bogus reviews of watches sent to reviewers for free all over CZcams. And miraculously they all function flawlessly with chronometer timekeeping.
I kinda like that nato strap.
I absolutely agree with your opinion about its value, but I feel a bit tired of even looking at another Submariner homage. After seeing so many of them, I tend to skip those when I see them. Thanks for sharing any way.
Agreed they have been done to death! I will not buy a watch that isn't mostly of original design!
As a result of these watches i am never buying a seiko/orient or any other "budget" watch again (besides Casio). The fact that you can get ceramic, NH35, male endlinks, sapphire and screw links for just 80 dollars, just shows that the markup on watches is unreasonable. Amazing work from Pagani! And before people say that japense watches have better quality, i beg to differ. About half of the japanese budet watches i buy have QC issues. My last purcahase was the orient kamasu, and the bezel spring broke just after a few weeks. Before that i got the seiko SRPD51, which came in 2-3 minutes off per day.
That's what I was thinking. It also makes me think an actual Rolex Submariner costs well under $500 to make.
I got the 43mm before this came out that one sits nicely on my 7.5 inch wrist so no need to get this one ... but had this one been out at the time I would have gotten this one. In the 'Hulk' of course.
I like a variety in sizes - wearing my Seiko Snk809 now which is much much smaller.
I haven't tried Pagani but my dad gave me a Parnis GMT master 2 and the bezel is by far the best of my entire collection and I have some really nice watches. I'm not opposed to trying a Chinese homage. Dave, another stellar review.
Can someone explain to me what about this man makes him so damn likable? I can't fathom it. He's got the chemical-X that made the Powerpuff Girls
For micro adjustment use needle nose pliers to manipulate the clasp spring bar. Very easy to adjust this way.
Pagani are improving their quality but I'll still bin the bracelet for another strap or Nato, and be wary of the bezel all too often they don't sit true. Saying that, I'm wearing one of their Explorers as I type and I really love this watch
Pagani's in the past have been hit or miss, but this model sounfs like they are moving up.
Nice video. I have had 3 Paganis and my observations - bezels are hit and miss, I had one great one and one terrible one with a lot of back play and 1 tight but mis-aligned on my GMT. Easy to fix alignment though, just pulled out insert, cleaned and glued back in. Bracelet screw links do not hold torque for daily wear, they tend to come loose around both sides of the clasp after a few weeks regardless of how much you tighten them ...so I recommend once sized to glue those two in (and the rest of them for safety) ... or just change out for a different bracelet. Clasp tends to be really really tight but it loosens with time. Overall great value still and haven't had any issues I couldn't fix, I'd still recommend them.
Their bezels are a mess, mine has way too much play in both directions.
I have 4 with no real issues: the 43mm Hulk submariner, their 2720k chrono, the Daytona homage and just got their 'President' Datejust homage - that said 3 don't have bezels. I got the Parnis GMT.
Locktite (Blue) the screws. I use it on all my watches when I size the bracelets.
I have several Pagani watches now. Currently I find myself often scouring their online store looking for non homage designs. My hope for them is that they begin steering away from homage and start doing their own thing. Even if at first it’s just riffing on popular designs, I’d love to see some difference and variation from, well, Rolex and Tudor designs. Fingers crossed.
Good review. I will have to check this one out on AliExpress. I already have two PAGANI Design watches. I bought a PAGANI Design 1654 with the Seiko Mecha-Quartz movement in blue and it has been a great purchase, although I no longer have it. My wife confiscated it from me and wears it constantly, so I went ahead and bought the PAGANI Design 2770 in green to replace the 1654 in my own collection.
One of the best Pagani's review on CZcams.
UK buyers are now hit with vat at the point of sale from aliexpress. The vat man shares info so you probably get import duty and handling charges too. Starting to look as appealing as their biggest export. That put me off, and many others I'm sure 😯
Well said mate, we’re screwed over yet again 😭
Yeah but paying now means no delays when it reaches you! Here in Australia Aliexpress has always included the 10% GST we have to pay but it just means it all done and i don't have to worry about paying a fee when it arrives! How much VAT do you guys get charged?
You were lucky enough to receive a replacement watch. My PD arrived running wild (10 min fast per day), terrible amplitude etc.. PD factory store did not send replacement. Buying one could leave you €80 out of pocket for nothing.
I bought 2 of of these last year one with the black bezel so far both keeping accurate time and everything works as it should. With PG is hit or miss. I also got a bad GMT that I had to return because it was running 4 minutes fast.
Nice review Dave. I have the PD Daytona Mecca quartz homage and it is very good for the money too. Consistent quality control seems to be PD’s problem.
Nice watch Dave! I bought the Seamaster No time to die homage and I really love it, amazing watch for the money, Pagani Design is doing some really good stuff
I agree. I also purchased the Pagani NTTD watch. I did not like the crude hands and purchased new hands in the original style and a mesh bracelet and it is now a favorite for me.
No time to die, worth buying??
@@davidwck211170 I really like it after modding. I purchased it during the Ali Express 11/11 sale for $96 I chose the less expensive rubber/nylon strap version as I had not heard good things about the bracelet. 90 click ceramic bezel, NH-35, Sapphire crystal, display case back, and comes with an additional NATO band.
Then I bought this mesh band

I have the black color one. The sapphire has too much reflection, otherwise pretty happy with it.
3/4 into watching your review and I was worried you may be too positive on the watch (it is definitely good for the price, I think) But you came through in the end with what I believe is good honest feedback on the strengths and weaknesses. Killer for PD is their quality control. You really don’t know what you will get, but if you do get a good one, they are great value for the money...always keeping in mind what you are paying for the watch....
Love my one of these, absolute bargain! Bet it was harder for them to find a dead NH35.
My Pagani chrono with the Seiko VK-63 has been a great watch!
Having just bought my first PD back in November , really nice to see them improving
Pretty much mirrors my experience with the Pagani GMT. The bezel feels too loose and sone edges feel too sharp (especially around the clasp), but an excellent set of features. I think the lume is quite good. From my experience, certainly better that Invicita (Pro Diver), Timex (M79), and Hamilton (Khaki Field Mechanical). Also, the cyclops magnifies more than I expected.
had it, wonderful watch.
Hey Dave! It's a great review and great watch honestly. I like that they've upgraded the lume, the 120click bezel and with much better action and fully brushed the bracelet.
I'd really like one of the big CZcams watch reviewers to review a Parnis version of this. Yes miyota movement but I've been told their build quality and appearance is really good for the price
At 4:17 was how dave broke the second watch from Pagani design.
🤔😂😂😂😂
Hello Dave, Sweden here again.
For "that much" of a watch at that price I have no issues with a few cut corners.
I think I may have to get one as green is my colour along with purple.
Saving up for a SARB017 just to put it on a purple Nato.
Stay safe and take care.
Great to see a Chinese company upping their game without the normal price creep. I have been dismayed by SM and maybe Cronos pushing up their prices into midrange Seiko price points and above. Yeah, okay indeed their quality and QC are leaps and bounds above most Chinese manufacturers, but I think that PD will clean up in the affordable price range to the detriment of SM and Cronos.
That's a huge chunk of watch for $80
That last shot with the clicks was real satisfying
Just sprung for the Black and Steel/Gold bracelet. Admittedly the guiltiest purchase I've made in some time. The two big features for me were the sapphire crystal and the NH35 movement. If they're aligned correctly and the movement works out of the box and within a decent amount of accuracy, it's really hard to look at any other budget watch. That's Seiko 5 money for this watch with as good or better specs than Seiko's own brand.
Great Review, Dave. Just a heads up, I bought one a couple of weeks ago, everything was fine except the watch came with a 60-click bi-directional bezel.
Bought the Explorer GMT Batman from AliExpress about 2 months ago. Paid £55 for it. Only real issues are the Bezel has a fair bit of bounce and play. The bracelet is a bit cheap and tinnie feeling but for the money you can't go wrong as a daily beater.👍👍
If they can make such quality for this value I think they should go for some original design or subtle design queue's from other brands and rival seiko or Orient.
I bet they will eventually.
That strap actually looks fantastic
I got the PD-1667 007 Commander for Xmas. Absolutely amazing watch. You should check it out.
I also have this one, I bought the No time to die nato on AliExpress it looks really cool, it also looks great on a mesh
@@argenisgarcia5015 contrary to what everyone says I like the bracelet a lot. The nato they gave me is meh. I also bought some silicone straps from Ali Express for it.
I like it! A lot better bezel then on inv pro diver! Lume is 300% better!
I’ll tell them since you can’t.. haha “Easy Link Systems or Micro Adjust”... It’s what Rolex calls a “Dive Clasp Adjustment” so you fit the watch over the sleeve of a wet or dry diving suite.
Still waiting for mine in mail, got the 1661 with blue dial black ceramic bezel.
I bought this watch as my first auto. I have a $1000AUD watch coming for my birthday from my wife and while I'll love it no matter what, my biggest fear is because the quality of this watch is so good, my quality expectations will be set too high 😂
Love mine! The date just is great as well
Very nice and informative video. For sure, a real bargain in every aspect. I will have to think long and hard about buying yet another dive watch. Kudos
Nice watch, but I used a blacksmith file to smooth the edges of the band's locker and smoothen the teeth of the circular disc because it scratch the skin of the body
You should give the Addiesdive Quartz-subby a shot, currently for 35€. 200m, ceramic fully lumed bezel, mineral crystal
Is it an offshoot of Steeldive?
@@karlsenula9495
Sister brand , if official or unofficial I don't know. Seem to use a lot of the same parts though.
@@Alias_Anybody good to know I love my Steeldive Captainn Willard and will be picking up the Steeldive 1953 Bronze - 50 Fathoms homage ... but I am also considering the Addies Tuna homage.
I cut my wife's hip open with the clasp of my Pagani haha. Had to file it down. Great Review Dave as always!! Cheers.
I took a chunk out of my thumb with mine. I used a nail file to round all the corners of the clasp. Happy with it now.
I’ve always been interested in a pagani as a nice watch for swimming but i always shy away from 10bar. Even though i know 20bar is overkill for a swimming pool
I have their 42mm HUlk but it's on the large side for me. So gorgeous though.
I just might get the 40mm. I like the thick lugs, The 42mm has a 22mm opening and more retro lugs.
Dave they are really awesome value, sadly here though in the uk we get hit with import fees so they aren’t as tempting as they were last year. Still a very good watch though 👍
They have a warehouse in France now, I wonder does that help?
@@JusttheWatch I never knew that. I’ll have a look, thanks mate 👍😃
Right on the sharp edges. My solution is simply using my diamond sharpener and file them down to a much acceptable/comfortable state.😁😁
Possibly a dumb question here, but how does the dive extension work? I can't get anything to pop out on my bracelet.
QC criticisms are valid at any price-point.
Now it’s back to Amazon. Just the watch.
you should delink them on each sides accordingly ✌
Hello! Great video! I lnow you have a medium-large size wrist, but Can this bracelet fit a 6.2 inch wrist??? I’ve always had problems adjusting Chinese bracelets into my wrist, because they hace limited adjustable links 😖
wish they made a Pelagos homage
they will - just give it time
well theyll need titanium and it will be the cheapest tita auto watch
@@lumibrite I just get a bit iffy about companies that use the word 'design' as part of their logo....and when it's on my watch - I get really OCD.
@@GodIsInHisHeaven i agree but man seiko do make great watches just that they are too expensive for what they offer and chinese microbrand homages are better for example the seiko baby tuna it is original design and is a very cool looking watch but limited production and no sapphire while for a chinese microbrand they are unlimited in production a lot cheaper better quality and banger specs any advice on what to go foe?
DeDave, I actually got the GMT (psst.. small problem, when pushing back the crown, one of the hands tends to shifted a bit). Actually should got PD-1639 as my wrist is slightly on the large side.
This one is too green but I Just ordered the green bezel black face option.
I ordered their latest PD-1672.
Should be waiting at home for me, can't wait to see if it's any good.
I may or may not have ordered 2, one of each flavor there... and may or may not already have 5 other Pagani Design watches. :P
Currently however, my go-to watches are the Boldr Venture Carbon Black and Seiko SNXS79J1.
Good spec for money, love it...but i prefer the old design subby that have slimmer lug...the only options i see for it now are invicta or loreo only...
Love your winder in the background.
I have the 43mm and I love it. Good quality 👌
The Pagani is ideal for modding and for the price $100 or less is a good bargain. Parts of the bracelet and clasp edges aret notorious for being really sharp from what I've seen on various CZcams channels.
Sharp clasp is a concealed weapon, I'm feeling safer now as I can defend from punks far better now 🤣 Now seriously, it's a good value for money and it's beautiful 😍
Dave I wish I could find it, I saw a video on CZcams of someone pressure testing this dive watch (maybe not hulk version) and it passed over 200m test, if I recall correctly it failed after passing 300, if I recall correctly, I just can’t seem to find the video, I’ll do a history search and see. Great watch I got this one on the 11.11 sale I think
If not mistaken it was ILW and if it is him, U won't find it as he lost most of his older videos due to 'whatever misunderstanding' with CZcams policy....
@@davidwck211170 that will be why then! Did you see that particular video, I believe the Pagani he pressure tested failed just before or after 300 metres, far better than the 100 advertised
@@MirrlyonTime It was ILW and it did pass!
That natos pretty good tho
Great review Dave! I think you must be the only person on CZcams reviewing the Pagani that managed to adjust the "glide..." (thing that shall not be named) using a spring bar tool (7:25 min). Any tips how? It seems almost impossible! Good job. Hope you continue to enjoy this watch.
Took a lot of patience. Almost threw it out the window a few times in frustration.
@@JusttheWatchuse needle nose pliers to grasp the spring bar...
Damn ....here in my country its 160 dollars...
Around 8 years ago these submariner Chinese homages at around 100 bucks were beyond awful . They were like toys certainly not even 316 l stainless steel light flimsy pieces of junk . I think it’s remarkable what they are offering for the money these days .. of course they are not perfect but they are clearly fit for purpose and fantastic at the price..
I like the pagani logo and the name only the must make a self design watch no mercedes hands and no crown protection example.
Great video, Dave! I have a few of these in the 43mm size, and I'm curious to compare them to this smaller 40mm one. I love the Loreo 40mm sub homage, but it's based off the 5-digit model, whereas this seems to be more based on the newer 6-digit model. Nevertheless, it's a lot of watch for not a lot of money.
Where did you get your leather watch holder?
beautiful watch.
Very pleasant to watch and listen to your thoughts of these cheap Rolex homage and how you did not bash them, I do agree this watch looks great especially for its price and anyone who loves the Hulk or just any Rolex submariner and wants to add to his collection decent looking watch with OK movement should consider it.
Thanks for review, your new subscriber.
Cool channel cool review cool music reminds me of the grateful Dead
If that watch had an ETA movement and cost under $500... goodbye Rolex, and little brother Tudor.
Is this better than a sub: No. Is a sub 90x better than this: absolutely not. Also, nothing beats the freedom of wearing a
Great value here
my example has the left side of the crown a little raised and it presses like a springy effect, by chance and normal?
Only 100 meters? Dang! Im planning tonuse it for 101 meter dive.
Can’t get past their hokey name; drop ‘design’. Nice watches
They've already changed it to Pagrne Design, lol
@@arcaine101 even worse!
The overall look and specs seem good, and a pretty affordable price. But, am I the only one who just dislikes a cyclops (on any watch)? It distorts the look, especially as the hands sweep past, and just feels like an 'old man's' feature for reading small text. I don't get them... Feel like it'd look so much cleaner without one.
I would love to know what he does for work since he lives in Japan. So fascinating. Anyways, great review as always.
