What a fascinating, outstanding and informative review. I recently sold my Rolex steel and gold Submariner date it sat in a safety deposit box for nearly twenty years as I considered it too valuable to wear based on where I live. I very recently bought a Steeldive 1953 which I wear regularly without reservation. Since discovering these Chinese made 'homage' watches there is now no going back for me I have already added many Pagani's etc to my collection. 👍👍
Pagani watches (and g shocks) are my favorites. Cheap, reliable, good looking, decent quality. I could afford a rolex, i just don't like to spend stupid money and i don't need approval from anyone. The watch snobs looking down on other people... says enough about what kind of person you are

I agree. I could afford a Rolie, But choose to spend my money elsewhere. I can buy 6 of these in all different finishes for 1/10 of one. Plus, cheaper to service an nh35

I have several Pagani watches and they are unbelievably good value and quality for the money. Rolex are a complete waste of money in my humble opinion.
Agreed, The Pagani and similar are of great value. However, with Rolex, you can park your Capital and get it back at a later date should the need arise. Akin to art work, real-estate and precious metals.
I have a Rolex I bought 2years ago and lately have been seeing so many different comments on PAGANI, I finally got one pagani to do my personal comparison and I was wow 😮. I strongly believe as times goes on, people will values pagani and other brands more.
It is incredible how precise and perfect they can get the fit and finish of a Pagani design watch for its price. I would be infuriated if I purchased a Rolex for near 10000 USD and found out just how good a Pagani design watch is for its price.
Been wearing one of these to work for the past 3 years and so far no scratches on the bezel or the crystal but the clasp gets plenty scratched up. Keeps really good time and so far no leaks. Im happy with it!!!
Best review I have ever seen for any product period! For a Rolex owner you certainly did not have a biased opinion. Very well done, Sir. What really got me is when you mentioned the very little known fact that Rolex is a nonprofit organization that obviously is set up to avoid paying high taxes. In doing so, they can pay their executives insanely high salaries. (as long as they don’t show a profit) I have no problem with companies paying high salaries but don’t do it under the guise of being a not for profit company. When you think of nonprofit organizations you think of churches etc… not luxury watch companies.
I know a person who bought a Rolex and I got my son a Pagani! It is super nice and did not ding the wallet, also he wears it to school every day and is not worried about scratching or causing any wear to the watch. A Rolex would be locked in my jewelry case if I owned one!!! LOL.
I rather buy a Good Pagani Design model watch than a Rolex. Not that I do not respect Rolex legacy & values but I can make good use of the money saved.
Frankly..any watch selling for more than $500 has its main value as a status symbol. When the differences revolve round such things as the definition of the ROLEC Crown, you know it is status only
The Paganis are a great watch to learn watch servicing. I take all my watches apart, put them through a cleaning machine and reassemble/lube and repair whenever required.
A striking and honest review. Is Rolex a better watch? Surely. Is it overpriced? Definitely. "We are Rolex and we'll make you pay as much as we please for our watches". All there is to it.
I like using the Pagani(s) for mods. To buy all the parts separately for sub homages would cost me over $300. Pagani gives me most of what I need for under $100 bucks. It's a great bargain, especially for a modder.
A wonderful video, with a very honest comparison. Thanks for this. Out of curiosity, I looked up the price of replacement parts for the Rolex, and found that just the crown costs $175. Astonishing that Pagani Design produce a whole watch for well under half that.
A very thorough, well reasoned and fair review 👍 . Is the Rolex better, yes, but the Pagani gets remarkably close for 1/10 the price of a Rolex service! I wore a Datejust for over 20 years daily and it was a great watch, but the price of servicing rose from £150 to £500+. Some poor customer service made me realise that there are many other companies out there making watches with similar capabilities to Rolex for a fraction of the cost. I won't wear a homage, so a Pagani isn't for me, but I am now enjoying wearing an alternative automatic watch that cost under £100.

Over the years I have owned several Submariner Date's. However since the internet, the grey market has negatively changed Rolex AD's. Also from the ceramic era 2010's onwards; the Submariner Date changed from being a well made tool watch; to being an investment piece, flipped on the grey market at profit, rather than a piece worn by collectors worn for a lifetime and passed down to their son. I am guilty of this myself as I sold my Hulk in 2018 at profit, and also my 114060 in 2019. I then used to the profit to buy this 116610LN. So I like the watch, but abhor the Rolex AD's for directly supplying grey market dealers, and VIP customers; rather than genuine collectors. However one has to accept that is just the way the watch market is now. Regards.
@@watchreviews4k It is sad, but it has happened to many respected brands, at least Rolex don't have a theme park and naff merchandise like Ferrari! Good to hear you made money on your Rolex watches, mine is quite battered and Rolex over polished the case before I realised I should tell them not to. The jubilee literally wore out, so it wouldn't sell for much even if I wanted to sell it.
My Pagani had extremely sharp case corners which required stoning and sanding to make it wearable. The lume is trash which is a huge disappointment. The performance has consistently maintained accuracy at roughly 3 secs per day out of the box. It's a very good watch for the money.

Nice to see some honest opinions expressed for a change, Even the highest tier watch snob has to appreciate how much watch you can get now for very little money. Can't go wrong with the budget Seiko or miyota movements as well, They are reliable workhorses. The pagani may not have the social status of the rolex but it's still a beautiful watch that can be worn with less worry about losing or being stolen etc.

I only own one watch; my Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41. However I also appreciate low-tier, and mid-tier pieces too. I have reviewed everything on my channel from a 10 Euro Casio F-91W to my Rolex Submariner Date. I give every watch a fair chance to meet my criteria of being; "both excellent quality and excellent value at the respective price point". A Rolex fanboy would never admit the PD-1661 is a good watch for under 100 Euro; but that is the reality. You make a good point about; "less worry about losing or being stolen etc." The truth is, there is more feel good factor wearing a piece one doesn't have to worry about. Damaging or losing a PD-1661 is no problem, as they are inexpensive to replace. That means one can really relax and enjoy wearing the watch. Ironically sometimes the least expensive watch can give the most feel good factor. Regards.

I like my PD-1661. Soon it will be three years since I started using it.The appearance of the Rolex Submariner is copied by many "common" manufacturers like Orient, Casio, so I don't feel like I'm using a "fake" Rolex. Affordable quality, for an affordable price. Buying a Rolex Submariner only makes sense when you buy it for investment or you want to snoop.

I have had my Rolex 16613 Submariner since 1998. My newest daily driver is a SteelDive SD 1953 (Submariner homage, all green HULK face/dial) for US$100 with an after-market all-brushed solid link bracelet for another $28. Honestly...and I really like my Rolex...the SteelDive is an absolute pleasure to own. Ceramic bezel-check. Sapphire crystal-check. Dependable automatic mechanism (Seiko NH 35A)-check. Excellent watch and terrific value-for-money...no question about that. I spent about $1100 late last year to have my Rolex serviced...it required some serious maintenance after all of these years of routine use. It came back like new.

I love the honesty in this video. This turned me to a Pagani 1661. While I was very weary a about getting a Chinese made homage watch, I have to say the plus side is the NH35 Seiko movement. If this watch holds up for a couple of years, it'll pay for itself.
I really appreciate your honest and genuine opinions. Pagani has actually trumped Rolex in several areas!! Who would have thought it? The Swiss really need to up their game.
My thing is that I get the Rolex has a better movement, but outside of that, the other that looks exactly the same can be had for $75 to $100. With that said, even if it breaks after some years, you could just easily buy another! The only thing the Rolex has going for it is that it could increase in value or at least hold most of its value and you can sell it later.

Rolex has pissed away it's reputation among many watch lovers based on the way they do business. Pagani has more dignity than Rolex these days. Give these a look, they are pretty damn nice for the price and this is coming from someone who knows tons of Swiss watches.
Personally I’d take 5x pagani and wear the life out of them and go make some nice memories with a lovely holiday instead of the Rolex but everyone is different 🤷🏻♂️ The first scratch on the Rolex would kill my little soul as would the service charges lol 😂

Very informative review on both the Pagani Design versus the Rolex Submariner, you really know your stuff! I recently bought a black Pagani Design PD-1644 Daytona homage, and let me tell you, the fit and finish of this watch is incredible, not to mention the sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel and 316L stainless steel your getting for under a $100.00! To your point about the diver extension on the Pagani clasp, I have replaced the clasp on my PD-1662 with a Bliger. Works great, and has made me love my favorite watch even more. Thank you for cluing me into this.

I remember years ago they had these cheap Rolex knock offs but the quality was very poor. Just bought a Pagani and like this video described the quality is superb. Let me tell you Rolex is in trouble. For those who wants a Rolex, they will still buy one but for me I rather buy ten Pagani than an overpriced Rolex today.
You could buy more like 130-150 Pagani watches for the price of today’s Rolex Sub. And good luck even getting one right now.. these Pd-1639 watches WILL go up in price as more people become aware of theme! Just watch..
Since for just 80$ Pagani can come up with a really decent watch it shows you that a Submariner doesn’t cost for Rolex more than 300$ to produce ,meaning that their margin is really really high .,...
Awesome review , , , i just ordered a PAGANI SUBMARINER from ALIEXPRESS and it is on it's way to me as we speak , , i really like your honesty and judgement of the watches and it makes your review even more honest and impressive because you actually own a real ROLEX SUBMARINER , , , and i agree with you the Rolex should not be priced at around $ 10 , 000 dollars , , , probably paying most of that for the name as well , , , you also picked up on/noticed something i think Rolex is overlooking and that is the back of the watch , , why Rolex would not display the internal workings of the watch with a clear display back is beyond me , , , i think that is a real oversight on their part , , , they are missing a big opportunity to display/show-case more of the watch .

I got my Pagani design after watching your video. I got lucky, so far mine is running +/-0 seconds after one week! Bracelets and watch edges are a bit sharp, is the submariner that way too? Otherwise no complains for a $70 watch.

Thats one part. True, a Sub is a fine investment. But it is more. It is a gem for many, a reminder of good relations, a fine wife, good results from business. Its a present, a work of art in many situations. The Paganinis a watch. A good one at that. But it will never be an investment. And perhaps never a present for relations. There is too much resemblance with ‘the real one’.
@@watchreviews4k It has another movement, the Miyota Caliber 8215. Testing the reliability and accuracy of that movement. My first impression is that it is a solid movement. Miyota is a Citizen related company, so good value there, In one day it is impossible to see any time difference. From what I see I would say 5 sec per day difference. Same as your watch. The looks of the PD-1661: excellent!
Look at gaps between in the bracelet on pagani vs rolex. There is lots of small quality differences. Almost endless. And the brushing and polishing, there is difference.
so you go ahead and buy the 12k Rolex then. If I want a good watch that looks like this I'll buy the 65 EUR Pagani. And yes, I have other watches, for example a Longines.
Yes there is a difference...8585 Euros difference. Sure you get superior engineering and quality with the Rolex, BUT do you get 8585 Euros difference? Like everything in today's world, you are paying A LOT just for the name.
The cyclop used to be a differentiator. Most of the homages used a lower magnification cyclop. This one seems to be on par with the Rolex but it looks like it is slightly mis-aligned with the date window.
Thanks for the comparison. I want a Rolex homage and have had hard to decide between Steinhart and Squale. Steinhart is since many years criticized for too straight lugs and Squale is criticized for bad lume. Pagani has better lug design than Steinhart and maybe not better lume than Squale. For the price of 1 Steinhart or Squale I get 3 or 4 Paganis! And by looking on the video I can see that Pagani has a great finish for the price. Adding to that a Seiko movement, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel: Pagani is a bargain!
@@watchreviews4k I think I have seen the video you mean. I commented to it and you replied! Regarding Pagani I think: the lume may be bad and I think it's worse than the lume of Squale. I like strong lume but it's not very important. And for the price of Pagani: there are bracelets more expensive than the price of a complete Pagani watch! I really can overlook a bad lume in this case.
By the way: I am just a bit wondering here. This model uses Seiko NH35 movement, while other use Pearl 5833 gmt, which is chinese, if I got it right. Is the chinese movement reliable?

Thank you for watching Glen. 4K video files are four times larger than 1080. So to edit in one 10 second wrist shot would take hours in editing. I record my videos in one take, and upload them with no editing whatsoever. Even then one video takes 2 hours to upload and process to 4K. I don't have time to record, upload, and edit reviews. I also have to spend hours every day replying to the comments on my 94 videos; reply to emails from brands, and subscribers. Regards.

I think the platinum numbers on the brzel are way better looking than the paint. I own the pagani and i really hate the white popping that much. Also the bezel is crap in my opinion; mine is about half a year old but it has back play and it way to light. If you touch something with it, it will rotate. I own the Invicta retro rolex hommage (without date etc.) and the bezel is way better at a similar pricepoint. Another problem are the hour markers on the pagani. They are just a little bit too small, which destroys the overall appearance of the face. Also i don'z understand how you can use 3 different tones of thite ror the logo, the hour narkers and the numbers on the bezel. Its not a big deal but in my eyes I don't see the point; its not that I would cost more to just use 2 different colora instead of 3. The logo is another story.. it looks way to sporty for me. Lets be clear: I'm a cheap watch fanboy and I love that watch for its value for money. And I do wear it a lot, because its a good one and I never have fear of losing money then I accidently scratch it somewhere. Its really robust too - the bracelet looks totally beat up after just half a year but the watch itself looks brand new. But there are a few things which could be fixed very easy and I'd totally pay 10$ more if for example the bezel action was just a little better. These things make an overall good looking and performing watch look cheap.
And I love my Cronos L6005 V2, AR coating, bw9 superluminova, pt5000 super accurate movement, glidelock is of high standards. WR4K reviewed that watch, it is almost a duplicate
Very interesting and enlightening video John, It is rather disappointing that the interior of the Rolex Glidelock is not finished to a high standard. As to regards to accuracy. Had Pagani Design regulated the watch to five positions, they could have attained a similar accuracy to the Rolex. As is ..............achieving 5 seconds per day accuracy for the Pagani ( regulated to 2 positions ) is impressive. Thank you for the review, Regards,

The only difference as far as I'm concerned is that you can sell the Rolex and hopefully make some money, well as for the pagani should may get half your money back on ebay.. Even if I was a millionaire I would still buy the pagani, I own a pagani and they are great watches . Probably the best budget watch out there for what you get!!
I have the both the Pagani NTTD Omega & the submariner homages. I do love both of them although if possible I would purchase the official Omega. With the submariner I'm happy with the Pagani and couldn't give a damn about replacing it with the real Rolex 🤷♂️
Hi everyone, thank you for this great video! ROLEX quality is beyond reach and that is undeniable. However, he is completely stupid not to recognize that this PAGANI is still incredible for its price! Personally I also prefer people who will buy a "ROLEX tribute" PAGANI rather than a clone fake. I don't tolerate fake , only just to leave them lying around in plain view in a dressing room for possible break-ins.
An excellent review, I think Rolex is a wonderful product but I do believe that they should be called out where they have cut corners. For the money they’re asking for their watches they should be able to deliver something truly impressive. I believe content like this brings those shortcomings to the forefront and may push them to deliver a product the better reconciles with a $10,000 expectation. Just subbed 👍

Very excellent and comprehensive comparison. I like haw you compared the actual physical value towards the end of the video, and respective profit margins. That turns many non-snobs from Rolex. I myself have a beloved Datejust, but recently with no loss of pride purchased an excellent quality replica ("fake") Submariner for $50USD delivered, skipping the homage options completely, to somewhat so to say... punish Rolex. I do not scuba dive, but use it snorkeling to several metres depth. I also have livestock and it has come into contact with high pressure hose water streams. There has been no ill effects so far. I also have a bit of fun with friends before I chuckle and tell them what I paid for it.

I really like the review. Not only because you don't straight up bash the clone, rather treating it as any other watch, comparing to Rolex, but also because it feels honest. Rolex uses their own, probably patented way of adding the platinum to the ceramic, which is technologically very impressive, but you are "tbh, I like this paint on a 80 dollar watch ". This review is probably as honest as it gets. Watching some others', the movement is "I don't know how robust it is" but when it's exactly the same movement in a branded watch - "you know it's Seiko's movement, it's robust, c'mon". Or "I recommend a watch with heritage" vast vast majority of people buying don't care about heritage, as they shouldnt imo, you are buying a watch, not the company. Same way as ordinary people don't care about the 2 or 4 or however much mm difference. People are buying designer watches that look like a plate on their wrist, yet they think it looks good. This "everyday watches need to be under 52mm lug to lug or 42 or under in diameter" bs doesn't exist outside of our watch world. Anyway, thanks for the review. It was great.

Watch Reviews 4K btw do you know if the bezel mechanism(?) can be modded/replaced? As in keeping the bezel and the insert, but mod it so it sounds and operates in a more pleasing way, also to deal with backplay. Have only seen people changing the insert or the bezel itself.
@@user-qs7dp6yb2x Yes, one can remove the bezel from the case, and bend the spring tighter to increase friction; thus reducing backplay. See the bezel removal tool I recommend below. This prises the bezel off with four equal pressure points; which avoids deformation. Using a case knife at one point requires more leverage, therefore denting the case, and deforming the bezel. If my video titles, and keyword hashtags were "Seiko modding" rather than "Pagani Design modding" they would gain more views, as the algorithms rank Seiko content higher than Pagani Design content. The thumbnail doesn't make any difference to the ranking. The algorithms weight the content on a number of factors; number of interactions, number of searches, number of likes, like to dislike ratio, number of views, number of impressions. All of these push the content up the rankings, regardless of what the thumbnail, or keyword hashtags are. Regards.

@@watchreviews4k yes, its a cracking watch. and imo the san martin is not worth the extra money above this. you can even swap the clasp for a glide style lock off other sellers for about 15 quid. The new san martin is way more expensive but does come with quick adjust clasp. However, my favourite pagani is the black and black GMT homage on jubilee (rolex used to be make an all black on jubilee in the 1980s, absolute crime that they dont still make one or let you order with oyster or jubilee). The PD is just unbelievable value.

@@watchreviews4k wow, I have a gliding bracelet but for some reason it does not have the problems with the carlywet one (although I thought it was carlywet who suplied it!). I put it on my casio 200m diver. Although the locking mechanism is not perfect, it does not noticeably click and the tolerances are good. I'll try to post where I got it from and whether it will fit with Pagani watches

The Carlywet ones have a good reputation; unfortunately the one I received was poor quality. I think a Glidelock is a great upgrade for PD-1661, and PD-1662's as they fit both the Jubilee and Oyster bracelets. Regards.

What a fascinating, outstanding and informative review. I recently sold my Rolex steel and gold Submariner date it sat in a safety deposit box for nearly twenty years as I considered it too valuable to wear based on where I live. I very recently bought a Steeldive 1953 which I wear regularly without reservation. Pagani is a watch with function. Rolex is kind of like a wearable stock.
Agreed, The Pagani and similar are of great value. However, with Rolex, you can park your Capital and get it back at a later date should the need arise. Akin to art work, real-estate and precious metals.

Best review I have ever seen for any product period! For a Rolex owner you certainly did not have a biased opinion. Very well done, Sir.
What really got me is when you mentioned the very little known fact that Rolex is a nonprofit organization that obviously is set up to avoid paying high taxes. In doing so, they can pay their executives insanely high salaries. (as long as they don’t show a profit) I have no problem with companies paying high salaries but don’t do it under the guise of being a not for profit company. When you think of nonprofit organizations you think of churches etc… not luxury watch companies.
I know a person who bought a Rolex and I got my son a Pagani! It is super nice and did not ding the wallet, also he wears it to school every day and is not worried about scratching or causing any wear to the watch. A Rolex would be locked in my jewelry case if I owned one!!! LOL.

The Paganis are a great watch to learn watch servicing. I take all my watches apart, put them through a cleaning machine and reassemble/lube and repair whenever required.
A striking and honest review. Is Rolex a better watch? Surely. Is it overpriced? Definitely. "We are Rolex and we'll make you pay as much as we please for our watches". All there is to it.
I like using the Pagani(s) for mods. To buy all the parts separately for sub homages would cost me over $300. Pagani gives me most of what I need for under $100 bucks. It's a great bargain, especially for a modder.

A very thorough, well reasoned and fair review 👍 . Is the Rolex better, yes, but the Pagani gets remarkably close for 1/10 the price of a Rolex service! I wore a Datejust for over 20 years daily and it was a great watch, but the price of servicing rose from £150 to £500+. Some poor customer service made me realise that there are many other companies out there making watches with similar capabilities to Rolex for a fraction of the cost. I won't wear a homage, so a Pagani isn't for me, but I am now enjoying wearing an alternative automatic watch that cost under £100.

Over the years I have owned several Submariner Date's. However since the internet, the grey market has negatively changed Rolex AD's. Also from the ceramic era 2010's onwards; the Submariner Date changed from being a well made tool watch; to being an investment piece, flipped on the grey market at profit, rather than a piece worn by collectors worn for a lifetime and passed down to their son. I am guilty of this myself as I sold my Hulk in 2018 at profit, and also my 114060 in 2019. I then used to the profit to buy this 116610LN. So I like the watch, but abhor the Rolex AD's for directly supplying grey market dealers, and VIP customers; rather than genuine collectors. However one has to accept that is just the way the watch market is now. Regards.

Good to hear you made money on your Rolex watches, mine is quite battered and Rolex over polished the case before I realised I should tell them not to. My Pagani had extremely sharp case corners which required stoning and sanding to make it wearable. The lume is trash which is a huge disappointment. The performance has consistently maintained accuracy at roughly 3 secs per day out of the box. It's a very good watch for the money.
9.900$ additional price for the Rolex and you have to point out quality differences under the microscope in order to realize them. 😂

Nice to see some honest opinions expressed for a change, Even the highest tier watch snob has to appreciate how much watch you can get now for very little money. Can't go wrong with the budget Seiko or miyota movements as well, They are reliable workhorses. The pagani may not have the social status of the rolex but it's still a beautiful watch that can be worn with less worry about losing or being stolen etc.

I only own one watch; my Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41. However I also appreciate low-tier, and mid-tier pieces too. I have reviewed everything on my channel from a 10 Euro Casio F-91W to my Rolex Submariner Date. I give every watch a fair chance to meet my criteria of being; "both excellent quality and excellent value at the respective price point". A Rolex fanboy would never admit the PD-1661 is a good watch for under 100 Euro; but that is the reality. You make a good point about; "less worry about losing or being stolen etc." The truth is, there is more feel good factor wearing a piece one doesn't have to worry about. Damaging or losing a PD-1661 is no problem, as they are inexpensive to replace. That means one can really relax and enjoy wearing the watch. Ironically sometimes the least expensive watch can give the most feel good factor. Regards.

I like my PD-1661. Soon it will be three years since I started using it.The appearance of the Rolex Submariner is copied by many "common" manufacturers like Orient, Casio, so I don't feel like I'm using a "fake" Rolex. Affordable quality, for an affordable price. Buying a Rolex Submariner only makes sense when you buy it for investment or you want to snoop.

I got 2 Pagani design GMT models and order the 3'th 1 and works very good on time and they think its Rolex
I have had my Rolex 16613 Submariner since 1998.
My newest daily driver is a SteelDive SD 1953 (Submariner homage, all green HULK face/dial) for US$100 with an after-market all-brushed solid link bracelet for another $28. Honestly...and I really like my Rolex...the SteelDive is an absolute pleasure to own. Ceramic bezel-check. Sapphire crystal-check. Dependable automatic mechanism (Seiko NH 35A)-check. Excellent watch and terrific value-for-money...no question about that.
I spent about $1100 late last year to have my Rolex serviced...it required some serious maintenance after all of these years of routine use. It came back like new.

I love the honesty in this video. This turned me to a Pagani 1661. While I was very weary a about getting a Chinese made homage watch, I have to say the plus side is the NH35 Seiko movement. If this watch holds up for a couple of years, it'll pay for itself.
I really appreciate your honest and genuine opinions. Pagani has actually trumped Rolex in several areas!! Who would have thought it? The Swiss really need to up their game.
My thing is that I get the Rolex has a better movement, but outside of that, the other that looks exactly the same can be had for $75 to $100. With that said, even if it breaks after some years, you could just easily buy another! The only thing the Rolex has going for it is that it could increase in value or at least hold most of its value and you can sell it later.

Rolex has pissed away it's reputation among many watch lovers based on the way they do business. Pagani has more dignity than Rolex these days. Give these a look, they are pretty damn nice for the price and this is coming from someone who knows tons of Swiss watches.
Personally I’d take 5x pagani and wear the life out of them and go make some nice memories with a lovely holiday instead of the Rolex but everyone is different 🤷🏻♂️

I remember years ago they had these cheap Rolex knock offs but the quality was very poor. Just bought a Pagani and like this video described the quality is superb. Thats one part. True, a Sub is a fine investment. But it is more. It is a gem for many, a reminder of good relations, a fine wife, good results from business. Its a present, a work of art in many situations. The Paganinis a watch. A good one at that. But it will never be an investment. And perhaps never a present for relations. There is too much resemblance with ‘the real one’.

@@watchreviews4k It has another movement, the Miyota Caliber 8215. Testing the reliability and accuracy of that movement. My first impression is that it is a solid movement. Miyota is a Citizen related company, so good value there,
In one day it is impossible to see any time difference. From what I see I would say 5 sec per day difference. Same as your watch.
The looks of the PD-1661: excellent!
Look at gaps between in the bracelet on pagani vs rolex. There is lots of small quality differences. Almost endless. And the brushing and polishing, there is difference.
so you go ahead and buy the 12k Rolex then. If I want a good watch that looks like this I'll buy the 65 EUR Pagani. And yes, I have other watches, for example a Longines.
Yes there is a difference...8585 Euros difference. Sure you get superior engineering and quality with the Rolex, BUT do you get 8585 Euros difference? Like everything in today's world, you are paying A LOT just for the name.

The cyclop used to be a differentiator. Most of the homages used a lower magnification cyclop. This one seems to be on par with the Rolex but it looks like it is slightly mis-aligned with the date window.
Amazing review, especially at the end when the watches were in the opposite hand and referenced incorrectly. Makes me want to go out and buy a Pagani.

Steinhart is since many years criticized for too straight lugs and Squale is criticized for bad lume.
Pagani has better lug design than Steinhart and maybe not better lume than Squale. For the price of 1 Steinhart or Squale I get 3 or 4 Paganis! And by looking on the video I can see that Pagani has a great finish for the price. Adding to that a Seiko movement, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel: Pagani is a bargain!

Regarding Pagani I think: the lume may be bad and I think it's worse than the lume of Squale.
I like strong lume but it's not very important. And for the price of Pagani: there are bracelets more expensive than the price of a complete Pagani watch! I really can overlook a bad lume in this case.
By the way: I am just a bit wondering here. This model uses Seiko NH35 movement, while other use Pearl 5833 gmt, which is chinese, if I got it right.
Is the chinese movement reliable?

I like your videos, the only criticism so far is there's not enough 'wrist shots' I like to see how a watch wears not just with your gloves on. Apart from that really good 👍🏻
Thank you for watching Glen. 4K video files are four times larger than 1080. So to edit in one 10 second wrist shot would take hours in editing. I record my videos in one take, and upload them with no editing whatsoever. Even then one video takes 2 hours to upload and process to 4K. I don't have time to record, upload, and edit reviews. I also have to spend hours every day replying to the comments on my 94 videos; reply to emails from brands, and subscribers. Regards.

I think the platinum numbers on the brzel are way better looking than the paint. I own the pagani and i really hate the white popping that much. Also the bezel is crap in my opinion; mine is about half a year old but it has back play and it way to light. If you touch something with it, it will rotate. I own the Invicta retro rolex hommage (without date etc.) and the bezel is way better at a similar pricepoint. Another problem are the hour markers on the pagani. They are just a little bit too small, which destroys the overall appearance of the face. Also i don'z understand how you can use 3 different tones of thite ror the logo, the hour narkers and the numbers on the bezel. Its not a big deal but in my eyes I don't see the point; its not that I would cost more to just use 2 different colora instead of 3. The logo is another story.. it looks way to sporty for me.
Lets be clear: I'm a cheap watch fanboy and I love that watch for its value for money. And I do wear it a lot, because its a good one and I never have fear of losing money then I accidently scratch it somewhere. Its really robust too - the bracelet looks totally beat up after just half a year but the watch itself looks brand new. But there are a few things which could be fixed very easy and I'd totally pay 10$ more if for example the bezel action was just a little better. These things make an overall good looking and performing watch look cheap.

It is rather disappointing that the interior of the Rolex Glidelock is not finished to a high standard.
As to regards to accuracy. Had Pagani Design regulated the watch to five positions, they could have attained a similar accuracy to the Rolex.
As is ..............achieving 5 seconds per day accuracy for the Pagani ( regulated to 2 positions ) is impressive.

I do love both of them although if possible I would purchase the official Omega. With the submariner I'm happy with the Pagani and couldn't give a damn about replacing it with the real Rolex 🤷♂️

However, he is completely stupid not to recognize that this PAGANI is still incredible for its price!
Personally I also prefer people who will buy a "ROLEX tribute" PAGANI rather than a clone fake.
I don't tolerate fake , only just to leave them lying around in plain view in a dressing room for possible break-ins.
An excellent review, I think Rolex is a wonderful product but I do believe that they should be called out where they have cut corners. For the money they’re asking for their watches they should be able to deliver something truly impressive. I believe content like this brings those shortcomings to the forefront and may push them to deliver a product the better reconciles with a $10,000 expectation. Just subbed 👍

Very excellent and comprehensive comparison. I like haw you compared the actual physical value towards the end of the video, and respective profit margins. That turns many non-snobs from Rolex. I myself have a beloved Datejust, but recently with no loss of pride purchased an excellent quality replica ("fake") Submariner for $50USD delivered, skipping the homage options completely, to somewhat so to say... punish Rolex. I do not scuba dive, but use it snorkeling to several metres depth. I also have livestock and it has come into contact with high pressure hose water streams. There has been no ill effects so far. I also have a bit of fun with friends before I chuckle and tell them what I paid for it.

I really like the review. Not only because you don't straight up bash the clone, rather treating it as any other watch, comparing to Rolex, but also because it feels honest.
Rolex uses their own, probably patented way of adding the platinum to the ceramic, which is technologically very impressive, but you are "tbh, I like this paint on a 80 dollar watch ". This review is probably as honest as it gets.
Watching some others', the movement is "I don't know how robust it is" but when it's exactly the same movement in a branded watch - "you know it's Seiko's movement, it's robust, c'mon". Or "I recommend a watch with heritage" vast vast majority of people buying don't care about heritage, as they shouldnt imo, you are buying a watch, not the company. Same way as ordinary people don't care about the 2 or 4 or however much mm difference. People are buying designer watches that look like a plate on their wrist, yet they think it looks good. This "everyday watches need to be under 52mm lug to lug or 42 or under in diameter" bs doesn't exist outside of our watch world.

Watch Reviews 4K btw do you know if the bezel mechanism(?) can be modded/replaced? As in keeping the bezel and the insert, but mod it so it sounds and operates in a more pleasing way, also to deal with backplay. Have only seen people changing the insert or the bezel itself.
@@user-qs7dp6yb2x Yes, one can remove the bezel from the case, and bend the spring tighter to increase friction; thus reducing backplay. See the bezel removal tool I recommend below. This prises the bezel off with four equal pressure points; which avoids deformation. Using a case knife at one point requires more leverage, therefore denting the case, and deforming the bezel. If my video titles, and keyword hashtags were "Seiko modding" rather than "Pagani Design modding" they would gain more views, as the algorithms rank Seiko content higher than Pagani Design content. The thumbnail doesn't make any difference to the ranking. The algorithms weight the content on a number of factors; number of interactions, number of searches, number of likes, like to dislike ratio, number of views, number of impressions. All of these push the content up the rankings, regardless of what the thumbnail, or keyword hashtags are. Regards.

Yes, the AliExpress resellers will often be willing to change the polished to brushed bracelet. It is also good one can buy the Jubilee, and Oyster bracelets separately now. Regards.
@@watchreviews4k yes, its a cracking watch. and imo the san martin is not worth the extra money above this. you can even swap the clasp for a glide style lock off other sellers for about 15 quid. The new san martin is way more expensive but does come with quick adjust clasp. However, my favourite pagani is the black and black GMT homage on jubilee (rolex used to be make an all black on jubilee in the 1980s, absolute crime that they dont still make one or let you order with oyster or jubilee). The PD is just unbelievable value.

@@watchreviews4k wow, I have a gliding bracelet but for some reason it does not have the problems with the carlywet one (although I thought it was carlywet who suplied it!). I put it on my casio 200m diver. Although the locking mechanism is not perfect, it does not noticeably click and the tolerances are good. I'll try to post where I got it from and whether it will fit with Pagani watches

The Carlywet ones have a good reputation; unfortunately the one I received was poor quality. I think a Glidelock is a great upgrade for PD-1661, and PD-1662's as they fit both the Jubilee and Oyster bracelets. Regards.
