  • Viewing note: The low light sections in parts 1 and 2 look great on my 4k monitor, but I noticed they were really dark on my phone until I turned the screen brightness up, so that should help if it's too dark on your phone. Enjoy!!
    Watch Part 2 here:
    • Sony 24mm F2.8 vs 20mm...
In this video, I compare these two lenses:
    FE 24mm F2.8 G Full-frame Wide-angle Prime G Lens
    electronics.so...
    FE 20mm F1.8 G Full-frame Ultra-wide Prime G Lens
    electronics.so...
In short, if you want the best quality and/or need better low light performance, then the 20mm is probably for you. If you are going to be working with the lens on the camera all day and weight is important to you, then the 24mm is probably best for you.
The video samples at the end of this video were filmed in HD/1080. In Part 2, there are a lot of 4k samples, so be sure to check out the second video after this one! I want to give Kaytee and Aimee a huge thank you for letting me film some laps!!

The 50mm does come with a lens hood, that weird volcano looking thing is removable just untwist

Thanks for watching! You are CORRECT!! I even remember putting it on now. I've never taken it off in over a year because the filters screw onto the outside of the hood, which I think is really cool.

@@TuesdaysTurn Yea I have one and barely take it off too. I have a filter on the lens directly, with the hood over it

I'm thinking of buying the 24mm 2.8 for landscape photography. I'd buy the 20mm but I'm afraid I wouldn't take it with me when I hike for many hours, a bit too big/heavy! Thanks for the advice 🙂

I don't know much about landscape photography, but I imagine you're shooting at higher f-stops, in which case I'd say go for the 24mm because it is SO much smaller and lighter. Unless you need the extra wide view, which I think a lot of landscapes use. They make it tough to choose!
