Cautionary tale about wearing wide leg flowy pants for air travel: I did just this, and the excess fabric on my pant leg got caught in the escalator at DFW. I was alone, and I honestly thought I was going to die (I was able to pry the fabric out of the gears at the very last minute). Hike up those pants for escalator treks, or opt for something equally comfortable without the voluminous threat to your wellbeing.

I am always so impressed by your ability to "ad lib" your way through a fashion video. This is a great example...and very useful because it addresses trends without insisting we go out and shop for them. Once again you are the queen of slow fashion! Thanks, Alyssa. (I am going to address the "relaxed silhouette" look in my own closet.)

SKY BLUE "trend" could be a suggestion to experiment with exchange pale blue wherever you would usually wear white. How about trying pale blue with browns, or purple instead of white.
BETTER THAN TROUSERS could be modifying straight wide trousers to change the shape or volume of the cuff. Wrap a ponytail elastic around cuff fabric on the inside ankle and tuck it up and inside the now snug ankle--similar to how you would gather the front hem of a top and tuck it up under a sweater. The idea would be to create a faux jogger cuff that sets off a barrel or balloon shape from your existing trousers.
ROMANTIC STYLING with an edge sounds like it could be accomplished by combining unexpected opposites of materials like leather and lace, structure like a tailored jacket and a chiffon blouse or high-low like biased satin and crochet or denim. Or mixing masculine and feminine like tacking flowers to a fedora. You did a great job draping the scarf as a halter, and you could have easily tied it to a structured bag handle. The idea of sticking bows on clothing makes me think of how Patti Smith would tie ribbons onto the button holes of the men's jackets that she wore on stage.
BEIGE tonally looks great, but it also looks really great with light blue. And creamy, yellowy beige looks great with cool light greys (almost light blue).
I loved the all-camel look with the belt over the wrapped blazer.
DRAPE could be an open shirt dress buttoned at the front waist and wrapping the skirt edge to the back where you would attach the hem corners. Layered over a miniskirt or cigarette pants and a close fitting tank might be interesting. Both the right and wrong sides of the fabric would have to be presentable. A belt or sash would help it look more intentional. I have a turquoise silk shirt dress in my closet that would work (sticking to the shop our closet theme). 👗👗👗
I love this shop our closet exercise. The article is a great challenge or inspiration to look for specific elements and test the versatility of what we have in our closets. Fun!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I "LOL-ed" when you read out "elevated" clothing (i.e. dress up a bit!) I went a gala fundraiser last night - I'm 60 and have never been at an event this level of semi-formal! It was a 60s fashion theme, and I was like a kid in the candy store! So beautiful! It was last-minute, so I had one day to educate myself and go down the rabbit hole. I love it. I remember it as a kid a little, and my mom was always full swing dress and bouffant hairdo! My mother instilled in me to dress "up", and she (84) and I still do this every day. I feel better doing it.

How fun! 60s is such a culturally broad period. My sister wore a strapless gown supported by a hoop skirt in 1963, but by the time she married in 1966, her wedding dress was inspired by Jackie O. The men all wore skinny ties under close fitted jackets and were clean shaven with buzz-cut hair.
Men's formal attire did not seem to lean toward the flamboyant ruffles and wide lapels until my era in the 1970s. My formal dresses were still long but not nearly as fussy and I got to wear panty hose instead of a girdle, garters and stockings ( which I did wear to school in 5th and 6th grade). And the boys all had fantastically long hair. How different we became in such a short period of time.

Last winter I had an abdominal hernia surgery and my recovery was really complicated so I couldn`t wear any "real pants" with zippers and structure. I went online and bought 2 sets of velour jogging suits cause I was getting depressed and feeling like s... wearing pajamas all day. I needed something that looked nice and was comfy, even if no one was going to see me.
Well, after I recovered, I still wanted to wear them but not only as loungewear so I discovered that by pairing up the pants with boots and a nice blouse, they actually look quite chic and elevated! They are straight-leg pants, and don`t have elastic on the bottom, so they look great as more formal pants!

The second outfit is my favourite as I have some similar in both the top and the maxi dress and it's such an easy and effortless look. I like a good midi length skirt and I just wear sandals as flats don't work for my feet but I have different ones so it changes the feel of the outfits. I got a pair of beige or more almond trouser pants and once the weather gets nice I am really excited to pair it with neutrals and brights too just to see how I can style them! Wide leg pants on flights is a no for me. Bathrooms on planes are notoriously gross, especially longer or long haul flights. Holding up wide leg pants while using the toilet is an option. However, if use loose grip and the pant legs fall, ick. I always wear a gathered or elastic leg pant for that reason

I love your videos and often use them for inspiration. I recently realized that I so focused on basic and staples that I’ve lost my personality in my outfits. Where have I gone? All the fun, playful and bit edgy vibe I’ve always had has been washed away. I wonder if you could do a video on “ so I have all the basics, now what?” I get finding you key words and again now what ? How to play again in fashion?

I have a similar skirt in terms of silhouette and color as your silk skirt and thank you for showing me what to do with it! I haven't worn it because I have no idea what to do😂

Wow that latte suit is a great look! But also loved the 90's pencil skirt look. And if you are selling the pink blouse please let me know!

I’m following you for a while know, great ideas but still hard as I really have to much clothes and need to find my own style again and going out of my comfort zone (what everyone is wearing) 😬 Great outfits again! Love it! 🫶🏻 Could you tell how you did the knot on the shirt? And maybe a weird question but I’m always wondering where you get your bra’s? Because you don’t see them with low and/or white shirts and that’s great! 😳☺️ Thx!

Would like to know what the pull on pants you wear for travel or something similar. Going on a trip late next fall and would love to bring something a little more elevated that could be worn day or night. Personally I would not wear that on a plane just because I wouldn't use a restroom with wide leg pants. Thanks. Love your style and augg

I really have a problem with decluttering garments, that are still good and fitting me perfectly but are out of style, for example low waist jeans.
Could you maybe make a video how to combine those with trend pieces and make them work again?

I'm starting to understand. I really like the way you interpret fashion suggestions. It's more about suiting things to yourself and learning what looks good on our own body,; am I right?

Summer/Spring is sooo difficult for me. I live in Las Vegas (HOT!) and don’t do shorts or short skirts and loathe the sun. So it’s a lot of linen pants and maxi skirts. Even general cotton pants in summer (utility, barrel, etc) can be too heavy for 115F.

Has anyone told you that you look like Cher when she was young. Check her style out in the 70s. I think designer Bob Mackie made most of her outfits for her show. Absolutely fabulous.
