Lord Huron a.k.a. the art of telling stories.
Five years later and slick Rick is still aka the art of story telling.
set to music...
the best comment.
Facts!
These guys are incredible, easily one of the most underrated bands I've ever come across. Their music gets better and better the more I listen to it instead of getting tired of it.
I feel like the albums previous to vide noir has been them experimenting their style. I can definitely say they've gotten better but there's always been gold in every album.
@@Max-xf1mw every one of their albums has and individual sound while somehow carrying and expanding on the previous works both musically and lyrically. It's incredibly haunting in the best of ways. I don't even know how to explain it.
Preach!

I discovered their song : "Meet Me In The Woods" and I fell in love with this band!
Me too. It was Meet Me In The Woods that I stumbled across on CZcams. Been an avid fan since :)
same here! found em last year lmao
and now they're my favorite band
Alan Trickett me tooooo
same, i found them during a night were i just listened to random music youtube recomended
same bruh, found it on spotify and changed my life
Man, these guys are the next big thing... if don't, the world is totally wrong
Rafael Faria Totally agree with you, they're awesome!
I'm sorry but no.. I mean I love them but they are indie / indie rock so its kinda hard for them to be mainstream
cold play is indie nothing is impossible my dude
So what you are saying is, the majority of the population prefer what is fed to them, and has nothing to do with talent? Then yes, I concur.
mad bro??
The lead singer is incredible. I love this talented band.
Fool for love is just one of the best songs I've ever listened to in my entire life
I just started listening. Great new sound!!
So good dude
Lonesome Dreams brought me here. Rarely do I listen to an album without skipping any tracks. Lonesome Dreams is one of them.
Hi from 2020, lonesome hits different
it's so upsetting they aren't loved by the masses
I may be late to comment here but I just discovered these guys last week and in this quarantined world, their music has touched my soul like never before! Beautiful music and a great band!
Still ahead of me. I just ran into this last week and now I'm trying to figure out why I haven't been following them around the country like a Deadhead.
Yours not alone and there's not wrong time to fall in love with lord huron.
Is it just me or are the percussionist and the bassist simply outstanding?
sdthrapp exceptional
Err, slightly confusing comment, if anything the bass player is the weak link in this band. They have some nice melodies but in terms of musicianship they're bang ordinary. The bass player is a top string wonder, if anything the second guitarist is playing the bass lines using his bottom E string.
The bass player switches from bass to keyboards. If you ask me, that's pretty versetile.
@@dalehanson7398 Been in lots of bands, and sometimes it's like being on a basketball team. Your job is not to score -- or play amazing bass lines -- but to set the shooters up to do what they do. It's a team sport.
I saw them live and they were honestly all incredible. The bassist went from bass to keyboard to theremin. Just awesome!
Cursed is incredible....well the whole album is incredible...but especially cursed!
I first heard their song ""When the Night is Over" on TCM in 2018 when they did their annual "In Remembrance" video and I fell in love with it instantly. In January of 2019 I lost my husband and on Valentine's Day I ordered Lord Huron's CD Vide Noir with a gift card he had given me the year before, so it was kind of like a present from him. I listen to it all the time and every song somehow reminds me of him. So I am forever thankful to TCM, Lord Huron and my husband for introducing me to such wonderful music. Normally all I listen to is oldies from the 40's-70s and sometimes 80's and 90's. I don't like today's music much at all but for Lord Huron I will make a HUGE, HUGE exception.
I hope you're doing well
It’s those comforts that gets us through our worst times! I’m so sorry for you loss but you don’t completely loose him he’s in everything you do! ❤️
Fool for Love is awesome.
+Marshall Jewell Ben Schneider has assembled such a fine band to showcase his incredible gift for singing and songwriting. The lyrics to "Fool for Love" could almost stand alone as poetry. Love the musical nod to Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away' in the song's chorus.
That’s my favorite!
Wish they would perform La Belle Fleur Sauvage and Frozen Pines. Those are their most chillingly beautiful songs in my opinion.
+LaRoccaFlockaFlame Louisa!
the yawning grave give me good mood.
the yawning grave give me good mood.
damn man that's true , i've been searching for years to find at least one of frozen pines live performance, but i seem coudnt find it anywhere
For me that title has to be 'the yawning grave'. I get shivers from that song, and frozen pines.
i don’t know why whenever i hear one of his songs my heart melts right away :(
❤😂
"the night we met" such a great song
He looks exactly as I pictured him when I first heard his voice.
I didn't know my heart could tell ALL my stories.
You know you've found a quality band when their live versions sound just like their recorded.
+Eden V I think we're listening to two different bands then haha. His vocals are terrible in this? flat, quite dull and all over the place.
Eden V I disagree lol shakes graves sounds soooo much better live. The studio can't even capture what he does live.
Mon Cap'n Jack I appreciate that his vocals aren’t perfect in this performance - it shows that he’s human. Check out their other shows. Much better vocal performance
Mon Cap'n Jack it’s true
Daniel Romero are you saying that some people who actually have good live voices aren’t human?
not sure why i like this so much.. but i've been obsessed with both their albums recently. there's nothing groundbreaking, just solid music
Michael: I think it's the way they blend musical eras and genres, and actually improve on the best of all of them -- plus some incredible non-standard lyrics and composition. It's like a genre until itself: Goth Folk hard rockabilly and roll, er something. Can't ever put my fingers on all the influences in a single song, and don't want to. Over-analyzing might break the connection.
Really like how Met me in the woods & the night we met base on each other :D
Derp Derpson love like ghosts as well! it’s fitting because they’re the songs at the start, middle and end
Best listened outdoors.
Dejan Gajsek or in the car with the windows open
@@nowitssovivid1273 Oh, yeah! I can feel the amazingness of that idea.
Found them by total accident. I lked the cover on the album's and was Hooked.
Laugh if you want,no am 70, and Lord Huron nd The White Buffalo are my faves. my favorite song by LH is
Love like Ghosts.
I hope you enjoy them!
LORD HURON IS AWESOME #bestBandEver

Cooper Chatterton I bet it’s a blast to sing it together. Soooo much fun. My little girls are diggin it too 7 and 4. Have fun with your daddy! Some aren’t so cool you know?
Love their new album... I just can't stop playing it.
Me too they rock
I've been listening to their Strange Trails album for a week now and this is the first time I've seen them playing live. I am in awe! So glad I discovered these guys
I just discovered this band from watching the new Robert Redford Nick Nolte movie A Walk In The Woods. I was so taken with the music that I watched the credits to see who made them. Lord Huron had about three songs in it. I bought their two albums and am officially a fan. Beautiful music.
+Eric S Amen, brother.
+Eric S They were a YT suggestion for me. I'm digging it.
+Eric Senich I also watched themovie andwas so taken by the music I also watched the credits......I agree BEAUTIFUL MUSIC
+Eric Senich Just finished watching the movie 20 minutes ago... And i'm about to buy the album now. How did you like the movie?
ME TOO only it was FREEheld for me and it was LOUISA song and i could NOT get it outta my head,, thank u GOOGLE
The emotions these men give me are indescribable. My favorite band of all time. These guys are better than any therapy I’ve ever received, I work through so much while listening to them ❤❤❤
Why aren’t these guys on every single playlist on the planet?
When I listen to his song I feel like I live in another part of the word
I swear I listen to this album almost every single day and it never gets old
Lord Huron transports me to another world...
I just attended their live concert in London last week. So much loved it.
Amit Dhumash not your strong suit is grammar?
Bruce Wayne Didn't realize Bruce Wayne was a secret grammar nazi
Joseph McFadden Shit, now they fucking know. Thanks.
+Amit Dhumash Yo, Batman, Yoda, How's about a thumbs up/down and not mess with the commentor. Jeez!!! You Tube is tough crowd huh Amit? ha ha Lord Huron is great are they not guys
I knew it, the night we met and cursed will be the climax
I love this band.
I do too! And they're from right near my home town! Lansing, MI.
Man I tell you what!! If I didn't absolutely adore every effin utterance Ben Schneider ever did utter there would be deep resentment a-brew. Effortless tone, supreme musicality, awesome timbre....god. So great. I'm gushing like a gusher. A BLUE gusher. The gushiest of them all.
Taylor Deaton 🤣
I love this band so much
LA-based indie band Lord Huron.
The band’s sophomore album, Strange Trails, has been praised by Paste Magazine for its “return to…music and its ability to transport audiences somewhere else-like any good tale should,” and I would have to concur. I've been listening to this album non-stop since its debut.
Originally a solo project of Ben Schneider’s, collaborators now include Mark Barry (percussion, vocals), Miguel Briseno (bass, percussion) and Tom Renaud (guitar, vocals). Tom is an avid Guild player, frequently playing them on tour and in the studio. We asked Tom a few questions about his history with Guild and Lord Huron. ~
GG: How did you get involved with Lord Huron ???
TR: I’ve known the guys in the band for most of my life. Three of the primary band members - our drummer Mark Barry, frontman/songwriter Ben Schneider and myself grew up playing music together in Michigan. We started playing together in 7th grade and had various bands over the years. Our bassist Miguel grew up a couple towns over and was in the mix shortly thereafter. Over the years we’d gone our separate ways, each staying involved in music to varying degrees, but when Ben got the ball rolling on this thing a few years back and needed a band to play live, he called us up. Miguel and Mark moved out to LA first, and a year or so and a couple weird twists of fate later, I was out here too. ~~
It's a real good thing I've revisited the band. I wasn't even aware of the new released album so I'm extremely glad that I've found them again. They've found their sound and good for them! I am proud of them since Lonesome Dreams, but I LOVED this album much better. Great pop-rock/country-blues sounding album. Great theme overall; very interesting! BEST ALBUM OF THE 2015 A DEFINITE THUMB UP
One of the first bands that sounds like their cd live
This band is so awesome
What a fantastic band!
Me cats curl up, purr when I play this yahaa!
The closing song for the wonderful "Longmire"--Ends of the Earth--brilliant, perfect.
Toujours de sublimesmoments de Musiques, Bands ou Artiste qui viennent ici.
Merci infiniment à cette chaine! Sublime cette chaine.
Lord Huron is my 5th favorite band ever I heard this song on the tv radio channels and it reminded me of my father and my mother and I started to listen to the songs and I love it
Wow... never seen him look hotter!
Love the Elvis and Johnny Cash in them.
They do have the Elvis in them in Fool For Love!
mezanine10 I hear a bit of Springsteen too
I hear a bit of Buddy Holly as well lol :)
So good. This is such an amazing band with a unique sound. Love strange trails. Reminds me of tiger army meets Bruce Springsteen meets Johnny cash meets Elvis. It's so diverse. A little country, a Little Rock, a little 50's and a little indie with a side of b movie horror. This performance was a little pitchy but still decent.
Great band - original sound - Love it! Low down in the earth rock n roll!
just seeing this shows how great they are. I know they are more mainstream now, but years back they were a beautiful secret!
The intro for "Fool for love" was awesome 👍👍
I & many folks here in Lansing have been following your career, Ben; we love your work. I remember your classroom work at OHS fondly as well.
But is Okemos really Lansing?? IDK?
discovered them 2012 season finale of shameless. Still to this day feel lonesome dreams is one of the greatest albums i've ever heard
Crazy that I discovered LH from binge-watching the series "Longmire" on Netflix---"Ends of the Earth" closed out the series finale. Sooooo glad I sought out the band credit. Strange Trails will easily be my most-listened-to album of 2019.
Totally, utterly and completely obsessed!
Love this band!
Nearly five years later, these guys hold up. 💙💛💙💛
discovered this band today because one track was on a skate video on instagram. been listening to all their tracks today. amazing music.
Love you lord huran
From Afghanistan 🇦🇫 ❤️
Uh I love these guys😍
This set is sublime. I come back to experience it again, as time goes by.
Coming in to say I just found this band, and Strange Trails, in 2024 and can’t stop listening. I almost never listen to whole albums but Strange Trails is basically perfect.
I listen to them everyday
I love "The World Ender" great song. Alias
one of the best bands in the US
No I am not Crying
Randomly happened to see them at coachella this year and loved them, so glad that I got to!
love this band. they sound awesome live! Wish that they were touring so I could see them...
Once upon a time a beautiful lady as bright as a sunflower showed me this band we no longer are in touch, but every time I hear this band I’ll always remember her forever, it’s a comforting feeling but also a saddening feeling knowing we’ll never talk again.
Realmente, enquanto mais você escuta esses caras mais gosta!!
I love both albums, not sure why they don't play the best song off their new album live! Please add La Belle Fleur Sauvage to your set!
This band can do no wrong , and the drummer is insane percussionist the unsung hero of the band . 🤘🏻❤️🩷
Never give up Guys!!!!
So amazingly great! What a great feel and it's like Chris Isaak twisted with Mumford & Sons with dare I say, a touch of country - but in a welcoming and good way. Overall, they have their own unique sound... Love it all! This performance should give everyone a good glimpse of their talent. Looking forward to enjoying both full albums outside by the fire this summer...

A priori vu l'état des lieux de cette magnifique radio qui a réussi à faire venir Bonnie Prince Billie! On a good mood! Well done! 😮❤
From Paris, for sure the best Radio.

I love this Band, they have there own sound,Great !

Discovered them recently... great songs!
Incredible band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw them front row in Milwaukee!! They are amazing live and I love LH so much!!
A fan from my first exposure 😮but this concert is simply fantastic! Thank you to all involved! BTW, I’m no musicologist
73 years old and not a member of this band’s generation but I predict that at some time in the future they will be seen as consequential and even more appreciated than they are now 😊
This performance brings me back to the first time I heard this song. I am still haunted.
Magic.
Radical Face brought me here. 3 songs in I'm a fan. You guys are awesome.
Rick Morris hh radical face is so good
I knew a few songs, but this performance made me a bigger fan, Great songs, great sound, great musicians..... love the dark chilling lyrics (ie Cursed). Just saw them in Phila, excellent live band. thanks for posting
Heard his soundtrack on Girls, his singing and beat sounds like a mix of Bruce Springsteen & Roy Orbison to me. Very interesting!
agreed....definitely hear echoes of Springsteen.
Good analogy.
I would say they are pretty heavily influenced by Chris Isaak.
Love the “backup” vocals... those with eyes to see and ears to hear take note ! This bands music is fantastic! It’s almost hypnotic in a way ... those old chords, those old frequencies, those ancient names 😜. Take heed
Ps maybe they grabbed the closest homeless individual to set up their lights or ... maybe it’s just my ocd 🤔😬
🔻
Depois que conheci Lord Huron n paro de ouvir a primeira musica dele vi numa serie depois n parei mais de escutar. adoro ouvir canta demais vei.
Is it just me or is this band way better when you hear them live?
I just finished binge watching Longmire and their series ender Ends of the Earth tune had me searching. Now I'm a fan and loving a lot of the tunes.
Already went to one show, plan on going to watch them a couple more times. Great live show!
crazy good
They had a great drummer!!!
