    I love the new RST Tahoe/Suburban. This vehicle fits an active family that has younger and older kids, maybe a larger pet, and while still having a "performance" SUV that can seriously tow/haul for an entire family. Even more so than say the mid-sized 475hp SRT Durango. (Although the RST looks like a police interceptor from the front😅)
    Now I'm just waiting on Cadillac to drop the coming "V" version of the Escalade and Jeeps coming Wagoneer.😎

    I have a 2016 loaded LTZ with 22" wheels, window sticker $75k. Prior to purchasing it, I test drove a Denali and Escalade. With the Tahoe having the same magnetic ride suspension, the ride feels the same as the $80k - $85k denali and $95k escalade. I have made 8+ hour trips in the tahoe LTZ, amazing how comfortable it is. Only two cons I have found. Drive one on a hot day, with the size and angle of dash vents there is a hot spot right around the face that you just can't seem to get cold air no matter how you adjust the vents. Other is resale! I purchased mine in May 2016, as of this week with 30k miles it has a kelly blue book (high) trade in around $48k. $25k is a lot to loose in 2 years and 30k miles. I plugged the same numbers in on a 2016 loaded Dodge Ram dually with approx 2016 window sticker and the loss was approx $13k. I had been thinking about trading my tahoe on the new Tahoe or denali with 6.2 this year until I looked at the numbers. Decided to keep it in the garage for occasional trips to keep miles down on it and traded my 2005 Dodge dually (207k miles) for a new Dodge Ram dually Laramie limited yesterday. The new Ram is a beast!

    I think the third row is meant for extra kids...lol. In your last video about this you made mention about the shifter. TFL Truck had a video on why GM did this and it makes sense to me. I'd rather have it on the column and have more space in the console.

    One complaint about the Tahoe is that some of the essential/emergancy controls are on the left instead of the center console where we are pretty well trained to go because most of the controls are there.

      The 2019 Silverado/Sierra 1500 is based on a totally new platform. Which means the new Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade will be switching over to the new platform very soon. I read it will have a new IRS setup for the rear suspension.

    Hello Big Truck! Once again a nice report video! Now I’m a Chevy guy through and through, but with that said I also feel Chevy, as a brand, is a value leader. Meaning I would never find myself spending any more money than say 50k on any one of their SUV’s and maybe 60k in their trucks, half ton or HD. My thoughts about this is the material used throughout the line are basically the same! Where as a GMC or Cadillac have nicer materials at a higher premium. But for what Chevy demands for the option to get that 6.2, in a Tahoe? Is absurd to me! When I could get a Durango SRT for less, with a lot more power, with surprisingly roomy interior, with a slightly smaller exterior! That is about 400 lbs lighter! But might not get the mileage, but that’s what comes with power. Or you could get an R/T that looks just like the SRT, but just might run with this Tahoe! Even with just the 5.7 Hemi. Plus it is arguably a better looking SUV, I know the interiors in the Durango, with the optional Brown or Red Leather seats and leather covered dash is also nicer with better overall materials than a Tahoe. How do you feel about testing a Durango?

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul Před 6 lety +1

      The 5.7 is an ancient overweight iron block V8 with terrible fuel economy and far less power.

    • @k.r.v.4219
      @k.r.v.4219 Před 6 lety

      hochhaul far less power? Than what? This 6.2? That’s at least 10-20 k more expensive! Than an R/T 5.7 Hemi? So 360 hp is not enough? But you can get one with 470 hp still for less than this Tahoe, that handles and rides better with four wheel independent suspension!

    • @BleepKing
      @BleepKing Před 6 lety +2

      George Brandt just a shot in the dark but I’d say the 6.2 is more of a performer than the ecoboost.. especially the newer 6.2s Chevy is putting out..

    • @nickelwork87
      @nickelwork87 Před 6 lety +2

      It depends on what model Expedition you get. If you get the Platinum you'll get Dam near Raptor motor in it. If you got below that trim you get the standard 3.5 EcoBoost and not the high-performance one.

    • @pechmichaelchristina2640
      @pechmichaelchristina2640 Před 6 lety +2

      It’s already been proven that the 6.2 is just as if not better than the ecoboost. Naturally aspirated will outlive it as well. Oh also sounds like a truck should.

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul Před 6 lety +1

      The 3.5 in Navigator feels different. I don't know if its the weight of the Navigator or something else, but it doesn't pull like the engine does in other vehicles. The 6.2 Tahoe was definitely much faster off the line and pulled harder. The sound was amazing. The interior in the Navigator had some nicer fine details but the 6.2 made it the easy choice.
